The weather can get crazy in Denali National Park and when we're only inside the National Park we gotta hike no matter what! The Savage Alpine trail is ranked as one of the best "official" hikes within Denali National Park with commanding views of the mountains and valleys. It's also a hot spot for bears.
For us the hike started crazy and ended up even crazier...it's definitely an adventure!

Jason's little song was to alert bears in the area of your approach, thus avoiding a surprise confrontation in the brush. The scat looked like caribou that was a little "runny". Another great video, guys!

runny..could be moose..in summer they have runny poop from swamp vegetation..

I saw the sticker that said this car climbed mount washington too. I live within and hour of there. It is beautiful here in the white mountains of NH. Although i grew up in CT. You are crazy doing that hike. I give you kudos on that one. I bet you slept real well that night. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Nice job just taking Alaska as it was presented! Too many people go to an extreme place and then complain about its nature. We don't use the bells, because we aren't tourists, but you sound just like us singing down the trail. Plenty of talking and laughter and generally the bears are long gone by the time you get there.

You two are crazy, I did that bus tour in June 2008 and I saw grizzly bears not far from that road, back then the weather was nice, no rain or snow, not hot or cold; we were unable to see mount McKinley because low clouds. I highly recommend that bus tour.

Dean, and Christy had a "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" sticker in their Van,that's very cool! I was born in Northern N.H. in the Shadow of Mt. Washington, and my very first "real" job was at the Cog Railway.(ok,might have been Just a bit of nepotism there) I later worked on the AT with the YCC,and had the absolute pleasure of knocking off many of my AT miles while doing my job.Very cool youth,,if I do say so myself. mmmm,,guess I just did. I was listening to the bear ditty in the bear language (yes, I speak bear) and because of your accent, you were actually singing "We are the people that taste like a pizza." So I can tell you without a doubt, there were no bears within earshot of you because if there had been, you would have been eaten. Bears LOVE pizza! Especially wearing expensive hiking gear and carrying bells. It's more like dinner and a show that way.

Please don't forget to enable the closed captioning on your videos. Thanks! I miss too much of what's going on without them.
