    I REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE your show. Great teaching. Do you have a video on just how to shape the bait?? I'm taking a friend with me to Bishop, California. and I'd like to intro him (and I) on the ways you've taught. Thank you so very much. P.S. I only have RUclips.

    Thank you for the video, was Great and very informative. me and my wife went fishing at a man made lake called tiger pond which is in Aztec, New Mexico, we didn't get a bite until i asked a guy who was taking home 5 trout (which is the limit), what he was using? and he said Power bait. they weren't hitting on worms. never use power bait ever! thanks again so much for this video, and i hope the people north of you asked what you were using? i would have.....

    I like this method but I always have a difficult time keeping powerbait on a single hook. Is there a trick to keeping it on after multiple casts? Thanks

      be thorough when "kneading" the dough bait prior to shaping and also dip the final shape in the water for 10-15 seconds before casting. The cold water firms it up.

    Chad we use much smaller hooks maybe 10 or 12 , also a fast action ultralight rod

      Chad try again. Same setup with the split shot but scale down your hook and bait the fish are eating very small beetle and larvae try a size 14 single
      .. I don't know where you were in Europe but I am guessing freshly stocked... go small and keep working it

    Every trout I've ever caught trolling or retrieving Power Bait has inhaled the bait, making a safe release virtually impossible. That's why I've switched to flies if I want to catch and release. If I'm retaining the fish then I'll use the bait.

      Well not sure what you're doing differently but our catch count is well over 100 trout caught by continuously retrieving Powerbait dough molded into shapes an so far none have been deep hooked. It has literally been 100% mouth/lip hook rate over several days of fishing including this video series.

      @FishfulThinker Well then I'll definitely be trying the molding shape angle and see if it makes a difference. Come on out to Oregon and fish Columbia River big chinook salmon, you'll have a blast! Check out my RUclips channel for kayak salmon adventures. Be well, thanks and fish on! ruclips.net/video/7FG8-0sR2II/видео.html

      @@FishfulThinker thank you. I was thinking about the ultra light one but the light one you have looks like it's pretty sensitive too

    Every time they stock trout people go in and catch em all within so it's no fun to go trout fishing unless you're on top everybody and some of them catch more than they're supposed to catch in the game warden doesn't do a damn thing about it

    So to make powerbait looks like trout's lure for multiple castings, why don't using trout lure or fly-fishing lure? wouldn't that save times and money and that is very much that fishermen would do. Why spend money on powerboat and times trying to bend and shape it into lure look-a-like.

    • @FishfulThinker
      @FishfulThinker  Год назад +1

      Here's why...because this technique results in more bites per hour. We are artificial lure specialists that very rarely fish real bait yet evey time we've tried to compare this technique to any lures, the retrieved Powerbait wins out.
