From one drag racer to another, put a button on the steering wheel (operated by air) for the chute and leave the handle as a backup (manual). You'll feel more confident and won't have to take your hands off the wheel in those situations (from experience). Love what you're doing.
There are many good reasons why most racers don't do this. One is that it's hard to hit the button when you need to be looking at the track. The second is that buttons fail when you need them most, and the third and most important is that there are usually two buttons on the steering wheel, the 2-step and the transbrake, and if you hit either one by mistake you'll either break your engine or transmission and get oil on the track which will lead to a crash at nearly 200mph.

This is how you know how good Emelia is. Not only does Nissan allow her to drive that vehicle because they trust her enough to do it right, when the car flies off the handle she manages the situation expertly. Everybody can put the petal to the metal, that takes no talent. It's when it goes wrong, that's when you see who can manage the crisis and who can't. Emelia did not hit the wall, did not damage the car, was ready to repeat immediately. And she does not break the record, she absolutely crushes it. Every time she does something like that another door in her life opens to allow her to do more than what she thought was possible. And always with that glorious attitude. I honestly envy the people who are in her orbit because she is one ferociously awesome woman to be around. Also, in that Nissan hat she looks devastatingly gorgeous. On the full 1/4 mile passes, pull your chute at about 1100 feet. That way, it's filling with air just after the finish line. Very necessary with higher MPH or shorter shutdowns. Love what you're doing. Your instincts behind the wheel are on point.

Exactly. Factory backing + fully swapped drive train shouldn't really count toward a record where stock drivetrain cars compete for. Amazing nonetheless, but I'd personally like it more if it was a VR30 and the original trans (both built obviously) rather than the usual VR38 and a 4 speed trans. I mean, the Hemi GTR doesn't count for the fastest GTR to most people, no neither should this.

It's a beautiful build, love the cherry blossoms decal and driving suit (got to get a t-shirt), and it's so very fast. You've definitely got guts to jump back in after it squirrelled like that, and then push a 7 out on the track. Well done on such an entertaining journey!

Emelia if I can give you any advice wise of when your pulling the parachute during a run. Always pull the parachute while the car is still under power. You want to drive into the chute. Pulling the parachute after you’ve already let off the throttle can actually upset the car suspension and on some occasions has caused people to crash the car. Also you pulling the parachute whenever the car got loose and almost spun out. That’s a really good habit to continue , doing that helps straighten the car up and I don’t know how many racers that I know do that and it’s saved so many cars. Keep up the amazing work.

Seriously when the Z first came out I was like most others, ugh. Your car is insane, I love it. I would take it over a GTR anyday. If Nissan was smart they would put out an Emelia Hartford edition with your paint scheme would sell like hot cakes.

Emelia if I can give you any advice wise of when your pulling the parachute during a run. Always pull the parachute while the car is still under power. You want to drive into the chute. Pulling the parachute after you’ve already let off the throttle can actually upset the car suspension and on some occasions has caused people to crash the car. Also you pulling the parachute whenever the car got loose and almost spun out. That’s a really good habit to continue , doing that helps straighten the car up and I don’t know how many racers that I know do that and it’s saved so many cars. Keep up the amazing work.
