    For some reason I got a little emotional seeing that little lion carving on the table, knowing you made it the day you got onto the Lion King, my most cherished Disney movie of all time. I was just a baby the day you made it, and that's crazy how time flies. I do miss 2D animation so much on big movies.

    That is a very well-thought-out desk for an animator or even for someone who simply likes to draw. I don't have such a set-up, though; I live in a small apartment and keep my art supplies in a few art bins, paper boxes, and a fishing tackle box.

      Something you might consider keeping an eye open for are old writing desks. They're built for small spaces, the lid double-acts as a working surface, and some desks have wooden slots that slide out to reinforce it.
      When not in use, the lid flips up and the slots slide inside the desk, making room.
      Some writing desks have drawers or cubbies for storing supplies, stationary, tools, etc.
      They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and styles, and the prices go all over the place.
      Mine was bought from an elderly woman's estate sale, she wanted 200 for it, but hearing about what I did, she knocked it down to 120.
      It fits well in my apartment, and may not be as well-built as a Disney Studio desk, but I'm proud for what I can do on mine. "Every desk has it's own magic" I now say.

    Firstly, I was “today years old” when I discovered that YOU are at least 80% to “blame” for my current dog’s name (Rajah) 😅❤ Aladdin was one of my top 5 Disney animated all-time faves, and Rajah was just so adorable to me. And I loved his relationship with Jasmine! Although my dog’s a female, most people assume she’s a male dog because she’s a stocky, muscular pitbull. So thank you for giving me a character to love so much I named my dog after him!
    And secondly, the real reason for my comment… did Disney actually hire “fake” animators (AKA artists who were non-Disney-movie animators) specifically as showroom animators for Disney World tours? I saw a handful of RUclipsrs claiming this, but can’t find a legitimate source, so I’m apt to think it’s a rumor that some people believed. Snopes didn’t address it, and they’re my go-to. But in a Google search, I found your channel. Thought you’d be able to give me the truth!

    • @AaronBlaiseArt
      @AaronBlaiseArt  3 месяца назад +1

      I’ve seen that float around too. I can say 100% FALSE - It’s based on something said in a video taken out of context. I’ll probably do a reaction video soon.
      I went through the Disney Internship and was trained by Glen Keane BEFORE The FL studio even opened.
      The Bancroft Bros. also interned with me and were Cal-Arts Animation graduates.
      All of us started at the FL studio on Day 1 and we were always there to animate as was always the plan.
      They certainly didn’t move Mark Hehn to FL to pretend to animate 😅
      Originally, we were just going to do shorts. Such as the Roger Rabbits ones we did “Trail Mix-Up” and “Roller Coaster Rabbit” the do some new Mickey, Donald & Goofy stuff.
      Once the California studio got behind we were quickly pulled in and never went back to shorts. We had a hand in every film from Rescuers Down Under onward and the films: Mulan, Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear were all FL lead Productions.
      Also, thank you for the kind words and happy to hear about your Dog!

    I'm curious what paper do you use and how does it fit onto the disc? that desk is truly beautiful!

    • @inisipisTV
      @inisipisTV 11 месяцев назад

      Animator here. The paper, depending on studios, use many kind of grades or thickness, but back then they’re cut by either into 12 field (12" in length) for TV shows or 16 field for Film. Some go as 24 field in size. They’re specifically ordered from paper companies to that certain size. The Peg holes are punched in the studio by these mechanical hole puncher machines (though you can buy pre-punched animation paper in certain Art supply stores and also some cheap portable animation hole puncher. You can use them on ordinary bond or letter paper)
      I’ve also worked in Japanese Studios back in the days. Their paper tend to smaller and much square (10 field) and they prefer to having them in the Top peg orientation than usual Bottom peg orientation of Western studios.
