World's Most Dangerous Roads: Congo
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 май 2019
- When Congo gained independence, it had the best road network in Central Africa. However, the condition of the roads has declined drastically and now only 2% of the roads are paved. During the rainy season, many parts of the country become a muddy swamp.
This series has one of the best lectors I have ever heard. He adjusts to changes in intonation, speaking tone etc. Very natural. Great job!
Indeed !......the translator ( narrator) does such a good job ! ...very British also....
@@PAULLONDEN respect to this man With@show me the world .They have more in one.

I could swear it's the same narrator who did Begin Japanology hosted by Peter Barakan.
Yes he does, He definitely knows how to adapt 😂
The best shows are the ones in Africa, the people are so dynamic and full of life while their circumstances are the worst. They show me how to be at peace. May Allah bless Africa ameen
Karma... Eugene shud have paid the poor woman for her food.
Thts Exactly what I jesed said. KARMA IS A BITCH & THTS WHT HE GETS! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Spoiler alert!
S'boniso Qwabe I hope those rude asses came to the same conclusion.
That is why Africa is poor.. Everyone trying to steal from each other.. They had money and still stole.
The driver ‘Domingo’ is sooo arrogant ...throwing the wreck and mistreating the workers...he needs to be checked. And shame on you Eugene for not paying for their meals (a few cents I’m sure) 🤦🏽♀️
These videos make me realize how bless I am.. Many blessings to Congo and its people.
I agree, I watch these and the most dangerous ways to school or something similar on the Free Documentary channel.
It’s so sad to see how hard these people have it. I believe everyone should have to watch these, especially here in America. We are so wasteful and greedy here, it’s truly sickening.
I’m not saying everyone of course, but unfortunately there’s more ungrateful people than there are grateful, at least imo it seems that way.
Chasing the dollar is more important to most people than helping and loving one another.
How blessed are you
You aren't blessed!
What you don't realize it's places like this that make were you live, leviable. Without the stolen resources from places like this, you wouldn't be where you live now and the people who live where you live now would be eating each other.

There you are!! One more interesting video from you!!😊

I just saw an ad for a 2019 ford truck and it was bragging how it can handle tuff terrain...I would love to see them advertise in Congo
It would actually do pretty well. The vehicles these people in the Congo have are shit.
ylekiote99999 yeah, the fancy cars are exclusively for the rich. 90s cars for the middle class, and if your a poor average Joe, a bicycle or motorcycles

Only Toyota has the bragging rights for that.

He is the best part of the episodes. His upward inflections and range of emotions whils translating is second only to Felix DeJesus from the boxing world. "Share out the sugar cane!!!"

Very nice and useful channel, I wish it had Arabic subtitles
What irony. This is the richest country in the world in terms of naturally occurring minerals yet no proper roads. Wake up Africans or perish in poverty due to poor governance.
Now that you have watched this video and made a conclusion, you need to research more about who is owning or governing this country. UN inclusive, this country is being governed by other four or more governments, some african and others from outside of Africa and that's why there's nonstop conflicts. In a way, these minerals are a curse because there wouldn't be anyone interested in this country if it wasn't so rich in minerals
The suspension got broken because of the curses from the lady who wasn't paid for her food service.
I just love the narrators voice hes very humorous too .

To those who keep on boasting about their SUV in You Tube, bring it here!!!
sorry, i dont have a big enough brodozer to be congo compliant. in fact, a tank would get stuck too. an arctic cat (those things that groom ski slopes) might actually work, if you can keep the tracks on in all that mud and rocks.
john donovan you seen the SHERP (yes I know it’s a stupid name) but that thing is insane in off-roading. It’s not meant to carry cargo though
@@windoak2113 the sherp is basically another take on 1930s vehicles where the vehicle is basically just the tires. americans did it, russians did it. and now its being sold commercially., its nothing new nor revolutionary.

Just great. Thanks for making this. Having been to Africa four times you get used to the insanity and pretty soon you're just like the locals; nothing bothers you. You just keep "MacGyvering" problems until something works. Time is unimportant.
Great post, I wish things were easier for these people, this is awful😣
Congo, one rich country underneath but the poorest. I pray one day they will wake up and manage their natural resources that has continued to benefit western world.
It's the leadership. Don't blame the west. These people don't even have any roads connecting their cities. That is the governments problem.
Of course a Wachira had to blame the west, your blind self can't even see the Chinese. Stupidity is inborn
The eastern world benefits aswell.

@@tyagrajan555 tanzania. We have these contruction issues there till the president or his cabinet have to act. People are lazy and they delay these projects just to steal more money from the government
Hate to say this, but, people showed that they are greedy and distrusted. Passengers are treated as assistance, load fees are overpriced. It's not just the government has to change, people have to learn becoming human as well.
The woman is forced to pay for her fare, but they themselves trying to get away not to pay their food. That's the impression it left with this episode. I've watched Nepal and Philippine parts which are footage at the edge of the cliff and the level of danger is much worst, but the driver and people are more human and friendly, respectful and caring. This culture of people from this episode is the opposite. The danger for this documentary is centred only on the truck and not to the people on board.
I thought it was overpriced too until a trip that should be 6 hrs 450 km was expected to take 4 days but took a month. The film crew left after two weeks and couldn't finish the trip. Definitely not overpriced.
It's not a passenger truck. It's a cargo truck. They just let some people sit on the top for a fee and they fed those guys for a month.
Yes I noticed this too. They are not better than us in a way, just less skilled or succesful at this capitalism thing. For better or for worse. I agree with Jon Snow too, but generally there are issues here. Stil for example, the lack of solidarity with the first truck that got stuck But if he helped him he might've goten stuck as well. It's both an individual problem and a systemic problem just like everywhere else. That roads main problem is not its lack of pavement. It's that it's like a channel by now. It's been pressed and pressed downwards with the trucks displacing and pushing down dirt.
All it would take are a few dozers going the full track and flattening or adding some dirt from the sides. But with no taxes and corrupt western and now eastern corporations that corrupt local and national politicians the mining industry isn't contributing much either.
Even that part is quite chocking. I mean how the heck does the mining industry deal with the crappy roads? It would benefit from better ones. It's all a mess.
Very risky for the owners to provide a service, wear and tear on the trucks are very high due to the roads, alot more fuel used offroading, and parts would be expensive. This would be cheaper then chartering a plane
It doesn't matter if this is a truck or bus. This is one of the few options that people have. Watch the two episodes that I've mentioned and compare. God Bless Africa
He’s that good on those roads then he’s unstoppable on America road

It's almost like they're happy the person has passed away, but in actuality it's another way of grieving. That's awesome.
Yes and when someone is born they actually cry & grieve; very interesting concept as they say that when one is born they have entered a world of trials and suffering and when some one dies they are now entering or “returning” to their true homes with eternal happiness... This tradition and outlook is shared by several different TRIBAL cultures and indeed is quite fascinating

I really hope sumtime soon these people could make it out form there..or some kind off help for better roads ,they all have to team up and fight for better ..🙏👍💯🖤
Yes -- travelled that road many many times - but on past Bukama to Kamina and on to Kipushya in East Kasai. Those were the days - before the roads were in the state they are now. A factor in the deteriation of the road is that they grossly overload the trucks. No rules here. We used to do Lubumabshi to Kamina in one day.
Как с вами можно связаться? По делу
Yea because my husband was a long haul driver, with his own truck, in tge u.s.,ever so often they have to go tru the weight stations..fined if over weight is found..
Why doesn't anyone take the initiative to repair the road? I live in the rural united states, and when the government neglects to patch even minor potholes, people will go out of their way to repair them themselves. Surely some of these businessmen that rely on the roads would have resources to conduct basic repairs.
Lesson here is
You reap what you sow

They should have paid that lady , the truck driver will loose good faith in her eyes he had three hundred plus 100 they gave him , for a dangerous ride in all that sun , I think if they had walk they would have beat the truck there
she should ask to be paid in advance
they said they already spent what they had as they were at this point, a week behind schedule. you get paid after the journey is done. the return is also basically for no money. they haul A - B. you get paid at B. watch the whole thing again, it is explained right at the start!
How that truck made it thru that road is beyond me 💀
I'm so why at 43:29 during the film while everybody is celebrating that the truck made it through and how amazing the driver is, during a quick pan of the crowd of everyone cheering there is some really creepy guy just staring at the camera?? Like really starring. It cracked me up cuz it caught me off guard but when I went back to see if again and actually paused it, he is pretty disturbing. Lol
