The honesty in her voice is everything, she is taking responsibility for her mistakes and now; she knows better .....*
My sister and I are look alikes, but am lighter, and she is darker, when we were younger people would favor me more to the point she started saying she wants fair and lovely so she could look like me.....I am older and I saw how much our skin colour difference affected her,so I started calling her chocolate cause she has very smooth skin....now we are older and I know I loooove her color ,her chocolate complexion and her confidence has totally changed, every time someone comes at her,I remind her, your chocolate n no one should tell you otherwise.....the narrative of light skin and dark skin will change if we start to address it from the root.

Girl you are gorgeous. Trust me, as a dark skinned woman, I know the effects of colorism in Kenya and it sucks but listen, you’re beautiful. Do not lighten your skin.
Hello ,I don't like to admit it, but wish I can get a chance out of Kenya just because of being dark
@@wanenewanene8673 woh! I thought colorism only affected the Somali community more than other communities in Kenya, coz most somali ladies I have seen or know they bleach themselves like shit so to a point that you don’t know who’s born with brown skin or who is bleached. It’s crazy that insecurities is something common among ladies who should have embraced themselves so proudly.
I wish she would talk like this on her platforms when she's calm and collected its fun to listen to her. Her communication skills are on point. Use what you have to make a positive impact you will go far.

When majimbo talk of colourism in kenya we say she is pretending but deep within we know she telling the truth
Still can't believe these ladies. I heard that they want to move out of the country to face racism in SA, the EU and the US
It's disgusting, this colourism issue. Dark melanin is really appreciated in Europe. I've met a few racists though, but they are few and far in between, and really ignorant folks who are not exposed, hence racist to blacks. Otherwise, you meet folks completely enamored by melanin, even fascinated. I wish we would shun this in Kenya, and encourage girls to be confident in whatever skin God gave them.
@@carolafricangirl6836 well said 👏
So true
It's a bigger issue is SA.
Kenya's are downplaying this colourism thing which is an elephant in the room.....Lupita was in this country and was denied many opportunities for her skin colour.... there's a big market for cheap bleaching creams this speaks volumes....I'm dark skinned yeah I've been bullied before somehow managed to get over it.....it's not interesting being in a place with your colleagues and being called out by some random guys who are doing casual work calling you blacky and u know it's you being called and they don't call you that with a good intentions
Tse sad sad😪
Dark skin is gorgeous! Don't let weak, colonized minds tell you otherwise!
With a smile, ask them what they gain from calling you that. Maybe their bank accounts receive more credit. People do things because of utter ignorance. That’s probably why they’re casual workers.
Sorry Hilda. Those people are not wise. Didn't know the issue exists. Maybe they are jealous, your skin is glowing and you are geogious ❤️
Oh my!! Kenyans always denying there is colorism. As a darkskinned woman I know first hand there is colorism.
In the rest of the world, socialite means a woman born into a rich family with a priviledge background. In kenya we have our own definition. I totally agree with her on the colorism comments.

Black Cinderella is an African Queen, very beautiful. I think the aspect of bleeching is a clear display of inferiority. Cheers to dark skins who've said no to bleeching
Black Cinderella is beautiful and eloquent. Healing begins from that point of letting go of past hurt , apologizing and amending your life.
A real black Beauty so beautiful indeed and the confidence
The way I love dark skin, I am even feeling like I am not dark enough. I envy her colour. This lady is gorgeous. She just needs to claim it. As ladies we also need to realise that our value is not in our skin colour, body shape nor what we wear. Our value is in the inner pearson, we have to rent our hearts not our garments. I sometimes have to deal with pimples and whenever I buy a cream or soap for treatment I specifically tell them that I do not want anything that will temper with my original colour. I am dark skineed and I love my skin colour so much. The issue of colourism is slowly fading away here in South Africa. Nowadays we see light skin ladies putting on some things to make their skins darker. The tables are turning but no one should be ashamed, harassed nor discriminated because of the skin colour in which they are born in whether dark or light. We were all made fearfully and wonderfully in the likeness of God.
Me too
I can’t imagine Africans calling fellow Africans as black. What else are we? Here in USA it’s used to discriminate against race and I wonder if a real African has any other color than black. The only thing I can relate to is being treated differently, because you're the darkest child around with long limbs that nobody finds appealing, people who should be affirming to you that you're beautiful regardless of what your skin colour or stature are the one making hurtful comments about how you look and comparing you to your siblings or friends that they find more beautiful.

Women lets create our own wealth, lets start small as we scale, being a socialite is just living a fake life
These women are not socialites....socialites are women with rich husbands or fathers who engage in charitable projects
@@bondiblugirl I like your definition
Oh my God! You've spoken
@@bondiblugirl socialites are usually rich like with money riight? Ama it's me who's wrong? Anyway socialites is a misused name in kenya
Socialites are born from rich families
Finally someone has said it colorism is high in Kenya can we just be proud of our dark skin we're beautiful bleaching makes you toxic utakufa mapema
Lynn is soo amazing, just listen to the beautiful words she shared with Princess. Lynn...makofi yako!!! You are amazing, soo much love
I hated myself being born the only girl in a family of 4 and I'm the dark one I could even cry and ask God why, I even wished that I was a boy , I remember one of my parents told me you not beautiful 😭😭but thank God I'm happy now and proud to be a dark skin lady
You have to repent, for crying God made you dark. When God made man, He said it is beautiful. Hating yourself and claiming to love God, does not make you a child of God. Forget about all your haters and love yourself.
@@leviticusemmanuel4421 Thanks for the advice 😊. You know it sounds different when it's one of your parent making you feel like that

I can understand, just pray over that spirit of rejection, that one of yours has to repent for saying so to you, if not God will hold that person responsible. So as you go a long with life, don't hold to image preferences. God has put us on this earth for a reason, even your parents can't lay that much claim on you, because God said, before he forms you in your mother's womb He knew you. So don't listen to sick minded people like that. Loving and trusting yourself is vital because people will admire you for that. Don't live your life everyday focusing on how you look and hate to appear to be accepted or appreciated when you yourself don't love and appreciate yourself. Be strong in life work hard to reach high goals in life, so that you can be able to provide for yourself and not running after men for all kinds trouble, avoided becoming like this lady.

In Africa I faced similar treatment being a dark skinned girl. Outside of Africa, I now get compliments almost on a daily basis, regarding my melanin and overall beauty, even from total strangers on the streets. Many times I have been amidst light-skinned girls and I get compliments while they don’t. I still can’t figure out why most Africans hate dark skin so much when truly its beautiful. You are beautiful girl ❤️
Africans hate dark skin because of being brainwashed. It's unfortunate and we have to work very hard to overcome it. The same way Africans hate natural hairstyles and locs.
You know it's life. We just never appreciate what we have.
So true. I had to go out of Kenya for people to appreciate me as a woman which is really sad. I had such low self esteem and felt so unpretty and when I went outside Africa and people started complementing me, I was in disbelief. Its so tough being a dark skinned woman in Kenya.
i feel you being dark feels like a curse in Africa
Colorism is still rampant in America especially within black people mostly and the bridge between dark skin and light skin is not as narrow as in African countries
I am dark skinned and I love my skin. not all of us have issues with it. just saying. This only happens to you if your life revolves around everybody's opinion of you.
Tuko wengi weusi ..
And we are OK with it!
This girl is too intelligent. One day she will be great.
