At 22 Rashford was in his 2nd season of 30+ goals and assists. At 22, this season is going to be Saka’s first. As with Rashford then, Saka is a top PL player but still has to progress to be mentioned in the same breath as Hazard, Bale etc.
Ronaldo wasn’t a stats monster in his first 5 years of professional football. Let’s revisit the conversation in 10 years after Saka never even reaches world class level, never mind top 5 footballers EVER.
The term world class gets used WAYYYY too often. I personally think it should be reserved for who without any question walk into any team's starting XI. With that said, I feel like there are only a handful of current players that actually should be labeled world class. There's been a big drop off in these kinds of players since the 2020s started
I believe it has to do with how robotic the system has gotten. Players have less freedom to express themselves. They have to follow instructions. If Dirk Kuyt (for instance) played in this era, he would have been in discussion for world class. But he was just a very good team player. Most hyped players these days are just very good at executing their coaches' instructions. Which is great. But truly world class players used to force the game to revolve around them. We don't have much of that anymore.
@@benedictharrison2819So there was only 3 world class strikers when Suarez, Aguero, Benzema, Ibra, Lewandowski, Cavani, Kane where all playing at their best?

He's definitely not Hazard level, but he is better than young Sterling (when he was at Liverpool). Saka offers more defensively, which is key to Arsenal's high press.
Foden and Saka both need big time moments in big time matches to be considered world class. I think right now (setting aside medals and trophies) Saka has produced a little bit more of those big moments but he hasn’t been part of many big time matches yet outside the prem league until this year. It’s all really subjective really.
So scoring against spurs, man & city, lvpl... & for national side at a tournament didn't count for big moments? Well enlighten me as to what you do count as big moments
@@kurtsudheim825 don’t get all butt hurt, I’m a gunner too amigo. I meant as far as exposure goes, Foden I think has had more exposure to big matches earlier on in his career like the champions league as well as being around some truly world class talent at city. Saka had to grow with the talent and system that was brought in by arteta. That being said I really think saka just beats Foden because I think saka would be even more efficient and effective than Foden if he was at city instead. Regardless, both still need more big matches to keep proving it. I think saka is a bit more consistent but it’s hard to stand out in any of peps systems unless you’re debruyne or Messi lol

Will definitely pick Saka over Foden. Hate both Man City and Arsenal but there's a clear difference between the two. Foden is a Pep system player. Saka can play in any team.
Bro lost so much credibility saying Saka can compare to Ronaldo. Ronaldo was a monster once things clicked. Saka will be in the superstar category of your Modrics, Alexis', Di Marias.
You don't remove penalties they are part of football and a legitimate source of goals if you are deemed good enough quality to take them for your team. Saka is.
While foden was competing against mahrez, David Silva, bernado silva, sané, kdb, yaya. Saka was competing against?. The boy would have been rotated and loaned out at city because of his lack of versatility. Foden can literally play4/5 positions even played striker at one point. Believe me in 10 years foden will have the much better career.
Saka doesn't have the mentality to see himself as the carrier of Arsenal. You don't need to be as cocky as M'bappe, which he got for winning the WC at 18, but he needs to start getting that swag of Beckham, Ibhra, and Ronaldo when he was leaving United. He is too humble.
if we’re comparing saka to foden I see it like this. on the ball I think foden is technically better. He pick up positions where there’s nobody close to him similar to David Silva but he’s light weight. Saka is Physically really strong as well as having unbelievable strength and willing to go shoulder to shoulder with people. If we’re saying who do I want to start for england i’m taking saka all day long.
FYI I'm an Arsenal fan. Saka for me doesn't have the personality to be the number 1 guy, but for me he is the ultimate teammate. The levels of Luiz Suarez, Benzema and Modric.
This idea that Saka put Arsenal is a complete myth lol he has been a very good player and one of their best players but to stay he has carried them isn’t true
Yeah right. That's why one is one of the first names on teamsheet for club and country and the other is mostly rotated. I guess these managers don't know as much as you do! Lol 😅.
I love saka, I think he offers so much to our attack but as a forward to be considered world class by everyone you need world class ball striking. Right now he’s getting better at it, but he’s still got a massive room for improvement there, if he keeps developing his ball striking that’s when no one will question if he’s world class.
Saka has brilliant output and even when he doesn't produce GA, he tends to play well but he can't win a game by himself like a Messi, Ronaldo, Hazard could
I’m ten seconds in and almost clawing my eyes out at the Ronaldo saka comparison.. its just to hold agendas it is statistically IMPOSSIBLE for Saka to reach the heights of Ronaldo stop baiting for clicks honestly i dont mind hot takes but cmon Ronaldo at a young age was doing it on every stage internationally too going far with a sub par Portuguese team.. scoring freekicks and goals for just inside the opponents half all of which we have never seen Saka do im not a hater only of the new generation of sports podcast who filter rubbish to there audience have a day off🤦🏽♂️
I find the comparison of Saka and Foden very similar to that of salah and hazard. Hazard (like Foden) was always more talented and better on the eye but can't argue with salahs efficiency. Obviously they're not at them levels yet but similar stylistically.
When i heard Rio had said that I was like eh? Really? Isn't a comparison. Just look over the last 3 seasons, Saka does it week in week out. PS no-one will do Ronaldo/Messi figures again because La Liga was overall such a low standard at that time due to financial disparity- a situation that is being rectified by the Spanish FA now.
@@siraajhabib8491 Absolutely not, that's a really silly statement. The PL has been far more competitive with a lot more strength in depth hence it's viewing figures dwarf La Liga globally. Ronaldo had good figures in the PL....but after 110 games Saka has beaten him in goals and assists in the PL. La Liga has been 2 massive clubs and then the rest, the PL has 10-12 massive clubs at least. Messi should have gone to the PL instead of taking the easy money and padding his stats in an even weaker league (even the Championship is stronger than Ligue 1). I think he bottled it tbh.

I’m going to controversial but 2 years ago there was a study by the PFA that statically proved dark complexion Black players get 65% less praise and positive comments by commentators and media outlets due to an inherent psychological state that makes people be less positive about people who look less like them white and light skinned biracial players got 45% more praise due to this. Example of this is Saka after the euros and World Cup he had and great statistical seasons he had with Arsenal didn’t even finish in the top 10 in the world young player award where ever other player in the top 10 had worse stats than him.
The argument they have for Saka are the type not to use that argument for Ronaldo being at sporting while Messi at Barca and Saka is Robben level and could be the new Salah stats wise nobody else
That opening statement is right, Philip is the more talented player probably, but he isn't doing as much, he's been groomed to become a great player in a few years. Whilst ska is putting in a shift rn, we expect him to improve but they're os the damger of burnout
Arsenal fan here. Completely agree with Saka comments. Also Gerrard was world class from day one to the last. I think the young guy showing his age as if you lived through Gerrard era you would know this
As an Arsenal fan I was enjoying the first 8/10min of this conversation until he mentioned that Saka could possibly reach the heights of Ronaldo because of the stats he has now because he is 22yr old, then I stopped the video
If you look at how talented the England squad is and compare how much Saka plays in comparison to Foden you have to say Saka is more of a key player for what he offers. Most of our attack comes through him and teams have doubled up defending against him this season as he's such a threat. He offers more and more consistently in my opinion
Saka to me... doesnt have a skillset that will diminish greatly... hes not doing 20 stepovers and beating dudes. Hes sorta quietly effective. My fear is that he stays exactly the same, but thats still very good. His secret weapon is how good he is with his off (right) foot
Saka is a world class talent performing at a world class level. But as an Arsenal fan he’s not world class yet. Neither is Foden. For me World Class has to be performing at an elite level at the biggest stage for at least a few years. They’re a couple of years away from that calibre.
Saka is more like a Robben (minus abit of pace). He's not going to score hat tricks or even every game but he's a big game player and he's always a threat.
I genuinely would love Foden at Arsenal. He'd be a better Wilshere with less injuries. Also comparing the two is stupid because they should ideally be in the same team.
he’s world class right now. he won’t touch ronaldo or messi but he is and will continue to perform at a level that’s on par with a hazard alexis in the prem
Saka has good stats but he could easily go up another level, if he improves on his weaker foot and heading, also work on his consistency of crosses, the only way is up
I never wanna bear anyone ask "what was Salah doing at 22" because he was grew up in Egypt which so much worse than England in a league that just got cancelled. If Saka was Egyptian he never makes it not even close. You can't compare the two upbringings.
If you have 1000 goals in 500 games and they’re all tap ins doesn’t make you the best. Basically the stats have a point but it’s not everything. It’s how you’ve gotten those stats and the obstacles you’ve overcome to achieve those stats
Notice how only City players get taxed when it comes to comparisons with other players. It's either they are system players or they play with better players
As an Arsenal fan lots of the points the Arsenal guy made are correct but he ruins them by mentioning Ronaldo and Messi and saying the Saka is already on the level of the Robben's, Hazard's etc. Saka can reach the levels of Hazard, Robben etc over the span of his career but he's still quite a way off them at the moment. He still has to win and continue at this level for at least another 4-5 seasons. Yes, arguably Robben, Salah etc weren't as good as Saka at 22 but that's almost irrelevant. They were consistent for years and years at whatever ages their peak was at. Saka still has a long way to go, lets not be silly. He isn't world class just yet, but if we go deep into the CL this season and he is a massive part with good numbers in the KO stages and we potentially win the PL, his case becomes almost undeniable. What Saka does have is that inevitability about him. He's a player that seems to always have an impact even in off games. Foden doesn't have that. Saka definitely will have a big career he's just inevitable. People have become way too much with this technical ability stuff. In the sense that if you look nice when dribbling, that makes you a better footballer. No, what makes you a better footballer is how efficient you are. And let's not pretend that Saka is not exhilarating to watch when he's firing. He gets goals, he makes assists, he's creative output is always top 5 in the league in terms of chances created etc. He's also brilliant in 1v1's and often has his fullback on toast. He might not have a silky first touch like Zidane, but he's still very fun to watch.
Even as an Arsenal fan and someone who really likes Saka, I think the Arsenal fan in the video is doing too much. Mentioning him in the same sentence as some of the greats already, is quite ridiculous. I think Foden is more naturally gifted but Saka is more effective and might possibly have a greater career in the long run.
These argument if they take him out is so stupid people always do it with scholes lampard gerrard as well we could even say if foden was in arsenal they could be doing even better then what they are doing now its sooo stupid
Foden having to break in to one of the best sides ever with a coach who will ONLY play you if you’re at his level while also playing in a position he doesn’t prefer for YEARS and only now that he is being allowed to play centrally he’s arguable been City’s best this season. Also the G/A argument is so dumb. Saka is deigsnated pen taker, meanwhile foden has to share stats with haaland, KDB and the like. Saka can also quite easily get marked out of a game.
People just hate on him because he plays with a lot of power and quick little moves rather than dribbling like Neymar or Ronaldinho, but ultimately, he gets the ball to the spaces where it needs to go, has good vision, works his ass of in defense, and he has become a pretty lethal finisher. He does it all at a high level.
You pick Foden bc consistency and work rate can be developed. Having god bless you with superstar level skill is not something that happens very often and it certainly can’t be developed so easily.

The term world class gets used WAYYYY too often. I personally think it should be reserved for who without any question walk into any team's starting XI. With that said, I feel like there are only a handful of current players that actually should be labeled world class. There's been a big drop off in these kinds of players since the 2020s started
World class for me also means you should be able to start for any team or be within the five best players in the world in your position

Saka had to grow with the talent and system that was brought in by arteta. That being said I really think saka just beats Foden because I think saka would be even more efficient and effective than Foden if he was at city instead. If you look at how talented the England squad is and compare how much Saka plays in comparison to Foden you have to say Saka is more of a key player for what he offers. Most of our attack comes through him and teams have doubled up defending against him this season as he's such a threat. He offers more and more consistently in my opinion
Glad to be back
Saka to me... doesnt have a skillset that will diminish greatly... hes not doing 20 stepovers and beating dudes.
They’re a couple of years away from that calibre.
if saka has a good ucl campaign and we get to semi finals i will call him world class i think
People should lay this tiring argument to rest. Does it really matter who is better? Both are very good players.
What team trophy has Jude won so far?
he’s world class right now. he won’t touch ronaldo or messi but he is and will continue to perform at a level that’s on par with a hazard alexis in the prem

How many tap ins has Saka had?

the disrespect to Gerrard lmao
The way some arsenal fans rate is mental! The eye test just tells everyone apart from them he's not going to be anywhere near Ronaldo
How is Bellingham above saka ?????
Im waiting
Because he moved to Madid 😅
Have you actually watched them play. Saka is not even close to Bellingham and he never will be.
Without alllll these hypotheticals, there is absolutely no comparison. 😕
Hard to listen to this much dribble. Level as Messi/Ronaldo, Gerrard not good at 22 and Foden would not get into this Arsenal team. Wow.
It gets worse - same level as Hazard and Bale.
I'm a Liverpool fan, but I love this kid Saka, completely agree that Arsenal over last 5 years is down to him ...
