    KDB's extended absence really has given me an immense appreciation for him as an all-time great of the game. And just how much he has meant to Manchester City. And for those thinking his time is coming to an end. KDB doesn't rely on athleticism. He can simply play deeper as he ages. And/or for shorter periods in games.

      @darthpepe2994 lol he can defend. I remember him getting 9 interceptions against leicester in the covid season, same game where he played that outrageous defense splitting pass. He just doesn't have to defend. That's the difference. Have you seen him press? Why do you think man gets so red? No leader? Taking the piss right? Did you see him against newcastle? Not just his football. He wasan anchor, encouraging everyone. Youre probably the same person who thinks messi isn't a leader. You dont have to be loud in a team huddle to be a captain. My guy is the captain of a side that won the treble, and pep guardiola made that decision. Pretty sure people are made captain because of leadership and not just how good they are. P.S i didn't claim that he is actually the goat. I said he is the goat in pl mid list. And top 2 footballers in pl history. Stats don't lie, KDB has the best Assist rate in PL history at 0.42 per game, the next best is Fabregas at 0.32. If he played as many games as Giggs he would easily have insane stats

    • @fivestarman5130
      @fivestarman5130 7 месяцев назад +3

      Using stats to compare KDB to Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes is very misleading. Midfielders can't be judged on stats alone because plenty of midfielders aren't remotely similar to De Bruyne, so comparing them exclusively based off stats is kinda pointless
      Bernardo Silvas g/a stats in the Prem are god awful on the surface level for a player with over 200 PL appearances but we don't judge him based on stats hence why he's consistently considered one of the best PL midfielders of the last 5 years
      Players like Zidane, Xavi and Pirlo don't have mind blowing stats either but they're still considered some of the best to have ever played the game. Midfielders can have more attacking responsibility or more defensive responsibility, or sometimes a bit of both. This isn't comparing different strikers where they're very clearly judged based on their ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
      For midfielders, there are defensive midfielders who can either function as creators carriers or destroyers. There are also holding midfielder who specialise in passing rather than defending which would make them deep lying playmakers. Box-to-box midfielders have a mix of attacking and defensive duty. De Bruyne is more of an advanced playmaker right now where he's almost functioning as a second striker but there's other advanced playmakers who are given more responsibility with controlling the game from a deeper position such as Zidane or Iniesta

    1) The argument earlier which now rivals have conveniently forgotten is that he doesn't have UCL. (like Walker said after winning the UCL, no one can question him now).
    2) Paper's published him as a Chelsea reject and England laughed when city spent that amount on him. English people consider Bundesliga as farmer league, so his stats weren't given the due respect. Same trolling happened with Haaland last season. Also, KDB earned his starting stop, he wasn't from the get go.
    3) He didn't go to RM(Barca) to win a UCL, which could have been an easy way out and stuck with city when the whole world gave him stick for not winning a UCL.
    4) If u bring stats, bring the number of matches too. Folks don't have perspective how big the margin is between him and other PL midfield legends(on number of matches) If u say other started early, compare it by minutes played. Also, people's argument on Messi vs Ronaldo is how much gifted Messi is, so why doesn't this apply to KDB. He is technically more gifted than other midfielders and his IQ is just on other lv.
    5) He played through a hamstring injury last season ( i don't know if people know that, he was injured the whole time and kept playing to keep the treble hope alive). Imagine scoring against the best keeper at Bernabeu with an injured leg.
    6) No one passes like KDB(don't throw in casually Lampard can pass over the defense too, no one can pass like KDB, it's almost out of the world.)
    7) He is a treble winner.
    8) He made me fall in love with football when i thought it was the most boring sport ever made(and i play chess).

U can’t remember seeing de bruyne tackle someone like i can’t imagine it in my head, he does it ofcourse occasionally but the whole team works to get the ball back then de bruyne is the one that does something with it. I’d also argue that in the team he plays in he has all the platform to do whatever he wants, he can walk about wherever and cus they never lose the ball he can spend an hour of a game trying to make that pass or have a shot, gerrard played in poor teams a lot of the time so he wouldn’t have that much time to go and win the game, he also couldn’t trust his teammates to keep the ball every game
