"Remove the engine guard." is step one of the owners manual oil service instructions, because you can't get to the under side bolt with it in place. "Remove screw plug (2) with the O-ring." on page 131 of the manual.
With how often these need oil changes, how fast is this to take off?

@@coreyjdl we and our KTM dealer completed oil changes without removing the skid plate. If you end up removing it, it’ll take you about 2-3 minutes.
