@@alexpaic2984just got one today, but I opted for an auto bc we have a baby and I was worried my wife would need it. I absolutely agree, it feels just as good as my 991.2 911S. I was out the door at 62.5 which is just insane for the package
Having just purchased a CT4V Blackwing, I will tell you that the type of person who goes for these doesn't mind a smaller infotainment screen. The focus is on steering, breaking and that wonderful, linear twin turbo acceleration. The infotainment does what you need it to do without being a large, gaudy tablet that competes with the road for attention.
I recently purchased a CT4 BW back in September coming from owning many German cars over the years and tired of waiting for my 8Y RS3 to arrive. I have to tell you, GM really knocked it out of the park with this car. It feels so perfectly balanced and the power delivery is smooth and on point. Paired with the 6 speed manual that’s very crisp and fun & the massive Brembo brakes, the car “feels” very German and 100% track ready. Also the seats are recaros and while they are stiff, they hold in you place well while taking turns at Mach Jesus. I agree with the basic infotainment however the sound quality and the responsiveness of the screen is very good, I wish carbon buckets were an option like in the CT5 BW.
Owner checking in here: seats were very stiff for the first few thousand miles, to the point I didn't know if I could live with it. Now they are fine, I've done multiple 12+ hour driving days in comfort! Spotted: Phish Radio. Save the manuals!
Just want to chime in, new owner (10/31/22) of a 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, Electric blue, 6MT with the sky cool gray interior, all the options except for the AT and the carbon fiber kits. Traded a 2019 Corvette ZO6 with the 7MT and prior to that owned a 2016 Chevrolet SS, 6MT for 5 years. Everyone is different, but, I found the sweet spot in this car. IMO, it incorporates the best attributes of both of these vehicles. At this point in my life, a small back seat and trunk is not a deal breaker. However, I love how this car rides, handles and is a pleasure to drive. It's more luxurious then both vehicles, has less power then the Corvette but is much more approachable and has more Hp then the SS but in a slightly smaller form factor, although it only weighs 140lbs less then the SS. I appreciate the duality of purpose this car represents. I briefly considered the BMW and Alfa Romeo QF, but appreciated GM's reliability and build quality to that point. Is the car perfect? Absolutely not, nothing is, but it can and does a lot of things well. If you fancy yourself an enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to check out this offering. PS, I finally got scheduled for the V Performance academy at Spring Mountain, 12/23. Live life and enjoy, it's short.
I owned a 2016 SS as well and recently bought a CT4-V Blackwing. Pros and cons for both cars. I do miss the roominess of the SS but I am quite pleased overall with the Blackwing.
Anyone comparing this to an m3 needs to know the m3 starts around 15k higher. They arent exactly direct rivals. People who cry about interior quality shouldnt buy this car either, the point of this car is it's driving dynamics and capability. Although to me it's pretty damn nice inside.
I paid a full total of 80K with all taxes, fees and some options for my Blackwing. M3 is well over 100 with just a couple of options everybody gets. And you can't even buy them, it's a 1 year wait. Cadillacs are still available in showrooms.
I have a 23, CT4V Blackwing 6 speed manual in raven black with black interior. This car is awesome and it gets!!! Poor marketing by Cadillac has made this car an underdog sleeper, and that's what I love about it. I named mine Menace because it's a menace to society.
Shout out Patagonia jacket. Cadillac needs an XT4 that competes with the Macan. We all know the dumb US market is gooning for compact crossovers, and although it doesn't necessarily need the handling chops to be rail flat in corners, it's exactly the level of spice all of these suburban jokes aspire to.
I prefer the BW over the M3, mainly due to the lower price but also the reported handling. Highest accolade....an Autoblog journalist was impressed after doing his review of a BW, he went and got his own new BW manual.
I will own one of these...just need to pay off the Accord 2.0 first. Have a pic of it pinned up on my office desk so I do not take my eye off the prize!
I bought a 22 4 BW with a 6-speed manual. Came with both Carbon Fiber 1 and 2 packages that are necessary because without them, they look too similar to a CT4-V or base CT4. Manual is 1000x better than the manual in my 340i xDrive. The ride is fantastic and the seats are comfortable. The infotainment is great. Quick, crisp, the AKG speakers are good but sound flat/neutral. Lacking in the bass department. The digital gauge cluster and HUD (which can change modes) are super slick. The seats are quite comfortable and the bolstering is fantastic. I could’ve gotten an M3, but chose this for the better manual, steering feel, ride quality, and overall chassis dynamics. M3 is too machine-like and stoic.
I was looking at M3's but they are everywhere + the extra cost is not justified over the BW. You NEVER see BW's cruising around because only 600+ were made (22') and I like that.
I sell these new Cadillacs in Texas , I’m lucky to be able to drive the blackwings and work with Cadillac enthusiasts. We have the 2023 CT4 blackwing and a 6-speed manual 2023 CT5 blackwing available . I can’t wait to test drive those two cars when I sell them .
He should have said "If you want the automatic. . . Go buy an Accord". Why you would ever buy this with anything other than that amazing manual is beyond me.
I traded a 2019 911 C4S manual for this exact car two weeks ago, but with the grey seats. Eletric Blue with the options and the manual 6 speed. Got tired of the Porsche expenses for maintenance.
Yeah I don’t get the small screen either. I think they should have done better there. I’m not talking a giant tablet like others are doing but more so on par with what they are doing with Escalade.
Nothing wrong with a 4 cylinder turbo motor, but I’m really not happy with the power drop of the “new” 2.0t LTG successor. I wouldn’t buy a ct4/5 with the 2.0t at all. I’d scoop a V “sport” though. I have a 14 ATS and I love the 2.0t in the car. And there is good amount of aftermarket support. Going from 272 Hp down to 237 or whatever. I mean why even do that? I just don’t get it. I love Cadillac and I wish they would stop “trying” to find their identity and play copy cat name games and just be themselves. I own 4 Cadillacs and 2 are “art & science”
GM can never seem to do everything right all at once with Cadillac. They can prove that they can make phenomenal performance sedans however they earn a solid D- with interior spaces. Uncompetitive and disappointing. They have got to do better and fast.
Just got one of these myself w/ manual - traded in a Taycan and zero regrets. Almost as good as my 991.2 Carrera T!
So it handles like a sports car?

Thanks for sharing comparisons. Would you say your Chevy SS had more rear passenger space?
@wesleyrice2138 without a doubt, the Chevy SS is a full size sedan and the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is a compact car.

Purportedly, the 2024 models of the CT4 and CT5 are getting an all new, widescreen interior (similar to the Escalade and Lyriq).
Smaller screens are better. The large displays are becoming the size of televisions and very distracting.

Cadillac should let you keep the car ! Thank you for this review on the blackwing .
Hopefully you're not driving on the "standard" Summer tires?

Just curious..this or a Audi RS3?

It was designed to fight the m2 but built as a tweener
The ct6v bw was the m3 fighter also built as a tweener
Manual only
Always manual
Why would anyone want this car with an automatic? This car should only come in with a 6sp MT.
Please don't insult the Cadillac ct4 v v series Black Wing, like that and call it a BMW piece of German junk.
Manual transmission all the way.
