I’m the lady that gave it to you. I’m so glad you got it running! It actually sat in my backyard for at least 4 or 5 years. I’m so glad it’s gone. 😂 It is true that a horse ate the seat! Thank you so much!
I had fun watching that video. Most people just don't understand the feeling of hearing that engine fire up for the first time after someone gave up on it and you got it running. I giggle like a little kid every time.
Great lessons! Most of them around here are 4wd and they turn up pretty often. Now when it comes to the horses chewing on the seat, I've repaired horses, cows, dogs and goats that turned seat foam into chew toys, but my favorite was the bear claw marks when bears climbed up to a low roof to raid the bird feeders. If you get a cheap seat cover, use a nice section of the opposite side of the original to cover the edge that's damaged. Fill the gaps with soft blanket material or soft foam padding until it fills out the already formed cover, tape it or Saran Wrap it in place and add the new cover. You've already got the form, just fill it out. If it's too soft, just add another layer of stiff seat cover material.Best of luck to you.
Having had one for a couple months. I can confirm that the 4wd one can basically drive up a straight wall with good tires. My 2wd one has been turned into an a 3 wheeler. Worth it
@@mrcbuildsI'm so ignorant on 4 wheeler brakes since I usually work on trikes. I think the only 4 wheeler brakes I've done are adjusting front brakes on an 88 big bear. What makes this quad runner hard?
we get 106* but it's a dry heat lol. after 100* it's hot as heck! cool project! I've scored 5 trikes in the past hitting yard sales. but had to buy them.
Cool find MRC. I just got a free 83 200e from a neighbor. Needed a seat cover, key switch, Clutches and springs and carb cleaning. But it was free and now I have two trikes. Like you said ask around . You never know what you might find for free.
Couple things. Decompression lever on the top of the head. Needed you may think it's lock locked. But that's why the lever is there. This machine runs at 165 psi. So 170 is good/ meh. Pull the pull cord from the passenger side, can get dngerouse on the driver side Headlight is removable. Fuel system has a fuel pump under the front fender, and the carb has a diaphragm . If it won't pull fuel, could be that. You will also find the sticker up under the fender on the left. Otherwise these machines are great. The Chinese fuel pumps and carbs are ok. But the rebuild kits are expensive for OEM Love the video man!
Thank you steve, i ran the vin its a 96. I just found the fuel pump just like you said. The tank is clean now and the fuel system is working. Front brake hoses have collapsed is my next hurtle. But i think she will clean up nice and make us a few dollars profit. Thanks for the help and watching.
If you're thinking about selling it I would go ahead and invest a few $ into it. New seat foam and seat cover would go along way to getting more out of it.
Nice brother. I would fix the seat and go through the tank and Petcock fix the choke and master cylinder. I could not stand it if I didn’t LOL. Good talk at the end. We need new mechanics that know how to work with there hands. 👍and where can I get that shirt 1973 was an awesome year.
If it wasn't a 78 hour drive..... I would be there in a heartbeat to grab it. I need the back plastics ( 1k$) 😂😢😅 Up here if you can find one, people want 1500 to 1800. :( Great work horse. But so expensive to repair properly
Just so you know, none of the cheap carburetors and maybe no aftermarket carburetors work for these 250 quad runners I’ve tried several times they are always wrong.
what area of florida are you in , im in myakka city (want to move to much $$) i only ever seen black racers around , couple rattle snakes thats it, dont like snakes will avoid your area LOL
You got that Suzuki four wheeler for free so why wouldn't it be worth spending 250 or $300 on gas tank if you had to? Second everything you tested worked. Electrical system, recoil rope, electric start and it had spark and it started and ran and not only ran but ran quiet so see Hondas are not the the only ones that are well made Suzuki made in Japan are also well made!! Watching all your videos I don't remember you testing any three or four wheeler Honda that everything worked like it did on that Suzuki!
Hi Anthony, it was a serious question to spur audience participation. Kind of what would you do kinda question. As for what killed this machine, a lot of little things, dead battery, dirty gas tank, stuck float, plugged jets. It became to hard to pull over for the PO. Then the horse eats the seat and well no one like a wet butt. Yes i will be fixing it up, right now waiting for brake lines which arnt made anymore. Thanks for watching.

I'm glad I don't live somewhere where I need to fear snakes like that.

@@mrcbuilds Yes, a different wild than the South Bronx!
I have always wanted the 4WD version of this! Imagine the possibility with the range selector and diff lock!
I bet that would be a nice set up. I will tell you the front brakes are a pain. Im going through them now.
