Nice. I actually liked the dolly shots, i could tell which were the gimbal but for these slow shots the dolly worked great
Right? I think they worked really well in that scenario. Thanks for the comment!
Every equipment has its own utility. A Gimbal can do a crane shot, slider shot, can do parallax around a subject. Your tutorial makes it so clear that a simple dolly movement has unmatched quality that a Gimbal can't just match it. Thanks for making this video and also telling us that expensive equipment are not important but the techniques are. Would love to see more of this kind. So keep posting...
I like how positive this is. Shows that if you like the idea of building/buying a dolly, that it is worth it. But also, if you wanna just roll with your gimbal that you can get away with it. Win-win.
Your videos are straight to the point and I love it!! Im now a lifetime subscriber!
Thanks for this, even 2 years later 😎
I like the dolly. Any way around the limitations of putting a tripod on and raising it with the legs extending off the board?
U got a new follower dude :-) . Cant wait for u to share to short film and maybe some behind the scene .
I think that the gimbal simply fails at what should be push and pull dolly shots. Because it’s the shot where the perspective changes are the most obvious. It’s something I hate when editing gimble push shots lol great use for the ronin 4d tho!
You deserve many more views.
Why not mount the gimbal on the dolly for even more smoothness?
you sir are smart.
easy call, tracking shots B, even on stabilizers, you have some shake, subtle but its there
I really don’t like gimbals, I’ve owned a few and I just find that they are just not natural or controlled enough. Sideways jerks on long tracking shots automatically make me aware that someone’s using a gimbal and I just get put off. Dolly shots, while they can be a lot more challenging and set-up time is a thing. However the filmmaker has much more control over what happens and in turn gives the footage a more natural human element. If I do purchase another gimbal it will be purely for situations where I’m pressed for time on a shoot.
Adorei.
muito facil de fazer
IN love
Awesome content!
I could tell B was the track shot, A was the Ronin S.
Nice
Lol... I get the same or even better results with cheap glidecam thingy than this ronin s thingy... And I wanted to buy this...
Link to the short horror film?
You can actually put the gimbal on you dolly
Wow!
