"My father worked for Perrier" aka was the CEO at one point. While I do agree work ethic is lacking at times in our society, it's odd to hear it from a woman raised in Greenwich, was a teen model, and eventually married into further wealth. The issue is not always the messenger but their inability to weave nuance into their responses while advocating for those who do not come from wealth.
The entire reason she even worked at and got treated well at vogue is because her dad is a multi millionaire but yeah us regular people aren't working hard enough
@ exactly and don’t even realize that 50% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. It makes me happy to see the small amount of wealthy people that do contribute towards nonprofits, charities, or to the less fortunate
Great interview- the class hate is crazy. It’s not her fault she came from money, just listen or not. I didn’t come from money but you can learn from anyone.
1.) Never heard of this woman before, but she’s so chic🤩 2.) I actually love receiving candles as gifts😂 as long as it’s in the realm of my liked scents😅
This woman is NOT RELATABLE. She is a super rich bags of money type who grew up so wealthy, she married a BILLIONARE, she worked at Vogue - the most privileged place on the planet. Her children probably see their nanny more than her. She is THE quintessential 3 names Vogue girl. (They all have three names - look it up in the masthead) She is so elevated that she has parties at her house where Anna is invited. She is not just some girl who made it, she is that elite of the elite socialites that Vogue wants "working" for them. She may have picked up a few "pins off the floor" in her day but she aint doing it now. Rich is rich is rich. This is a quote from her: "To close out fashion month I co-hosted a party with Derek Blasberg ("writer" and male socialite) and Cynthia Erivo (hello, wicked witch) at my home in Paris......". Women like her are exhausting - she looks great but is more about herself than anything else. She really put her foot in her mouth when she bragged about sitting with the best or the worst of people. What a horrible thing to say. Then she back peddled because she could not offer any "tips" out side of leaving to smoke???? Ugh. Exhausting.
I agree but- she still has good things to say that can be learned from. You can learn something from anyone. Although her privileged background got her in the door, she had to be able to do the job. She could’ve easily just wanted to not work, but she is obviously someone who has a good work ethic. What’s important is that she learned from her parents and the people around her. Those are excellent qualities anyone can strive for.
Who the young people who sponge off the working or the working era that made this country what it is? Because the way things are now, this country will be taken over by the lazy who do nothing and expect the government to babysit sit them.
I wish if they bought in someone who is more relatable . This is a woman who comes from a wealthy connected background, married a very wealthy Colombian son of the ambassador in the US. Created some sort of weird business with fashion that is not doing well . But it’s sort of a status “ I am wealthy married but I have a job “ sort of thing . She throws all these dinners and goes to gala to mingle with the same class . It’s like at this stage Kim Kardashian would be more relatable than her lol
Her business genuinely is solely a hobby for her, how well her businesses do is irrelevant as long as she can look cool to her friends I guess, even if it's at the expense of her own kids
Wintour can not come. She thinks that scary is sexy, that hiding behind sunglasses all the time is mysterious, that not smiling is powerful, that wearing thick necklaces is classy, that keeping the same haircut is bold and that she knows fashion. I mean come on. Wake up ladies.
I really like her and what she says, the comments are unfair just cuz she had money doesn’t mean she didn’t work for it, and moda operandi is a huge site , nice to see the person behind it
No one is saying she didn't work for the success of her website. They're saying criticizing others for not working as hard as you when you've been handed opportunities due to your wealth is in poor taste
@ idk it felt she was criticising other privileged people, like way I saw what she said that yes she was privileged but she worked with the opportunities that she had and made something out of it whilst other equally privileged people didn’t work for it and just enjoyed the ride and like wasted the opportunities that they had.
@@Gromyko1 ...she literally generalised the entire younger generation. Most people who work low level PA/admin jobs are far from wealthy. She was not criticising other wealthy people only.
Keep the coffee table books and the candles if it’s what you like. Keep them, don’t let anyone tell you how to do you. I have both on my huge coffee table along with trinkets I’ve collected or have been gifted on my table. Though I do agree with the statement of making sure they are of something that interests you and not just “trendy” book. My books are of Frida and Mexican culture and candles are of my favorite scents. All that to say it’s things that represent me.
It would be interesting to interview someone from a non privileged family and background. The conversations are great but also seem tone deaf. Everyone interviewed always seemed to glide over the connections that truly got them to certain points of opportunity
Had so much fan listening. Not understand all the people in the comments. I never heard of her but I loved her stories and I followed her on insta after that

A publishing company should challenge all of you by dropping a huge load of beautiful and colorful hardback coffee table books at your front door, then challenge yourself not to find a handful that interests you where you can indulge yourself with the beautiful photography on a recurring bases. There is no moral or fashion crime in that.
Omg what is this coffee cup she’s drinking out of!!! Answering my own questions; it looks like visp elixir mixer? Idk 100% I can’t find one w a straw but idk
everyone wants to hear stories about their dream job. whether or not you relate to this persons exact story is kind of irrelevant (nice if its your story as well) but i think ppl need to sperate themselves from this whole i NEED to represented in order to believe what i want to do is possible. if you want to find stories of people who didnt come from privilege you can easily find that especially if you want to look into someone of color. i say all this to say take the gems if any that you can get from content like this and then utilize whatever is useful. shes saying things that regardless of privilege, you would either have to do or be expected to do. its easy to target a white woman who is seemingly out of of touch (but not really bc look at her brand) as if she's completely talking to a different type of people but that's not what I got from this
Coffee table books do not have to live on the coffee table and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a coffee table books that represents or commemorates a subject matter that is meaningful or dear to you. If you have no intention of ever opening the book, then don’t buy it. The joke is on you for making a foolish purchase. Otherwise indulge yourself and own a pictorial keepsake that represents something very meaningful in your life. And displayed as you see fit. Shallow people buy objects that simply take up space in their house and have no meaning. Counsel those people instead.
You should interview a vogue girl who didn't come from a wealthy society family. Now they really know how to hustle.
Does such a person exist tho? All these vogue girls seem to be rich/society girls
Maybe they can learn from her how to do the job and not have to hustle. Or how to. She have for sure things other can learn from.
Candace Owen’s worked at Vogue
I worked at Vogue in 2011 under Selby Drummond in the jewellery dept. Im from the Melbourne Victoria . I saw the real vogue
And where you gonna find one of those 😂😂😂

Young people don’t value capitalist versions of success. Nothing wrong with it… I actually admire them a lot.

a lot of, if not most of the vogue girls fit that profile huney. this is the “average” vogue girl experience.
