As an older person, I find this hilarious because It's a review of what's been going on in the health industry forever. Nothing new here just the verbiage is a little more technical. The younger ones are clinging to his every word looking for that one magic vitamin. Money is made by these people and the vitamin company's. Eat good food, get out in the sun and fresh air, take a multiple vitamin and get on with your life.
The real issue is the quality of food we have available. We have so many poisons in our food these days. I saw a report of carrots that were tested, fresh out of the ground, and they had so many plastics in them it was shocking! Nutrition is key, but we need clean options. Most of our foods have ingredients banned or labeled toxic in other countries.
That’s really only if you work out a lot! When I was working out 5 days a week I took it nightly but now that I am no longer active, it has the opposite effect and makes me anxious and restless
I'm a mom of 5 and the easiest postpartum weight loss came when i started fasting until 2pm and running and cycling while fasting. I'm sure this doesn't work for everyone but don't write it off if you haven't tried it.
Pure Encapsulations Prenatal shout out! On my second pregnancy and absolutely loved them for my 1st. My baby is so healthy and sharp as a tack. Can’t wait for Gary to release his prenatal.
Lauren almost made it without interrupting and talking over the guest. Almost! 😡 She at least listened intently to what Gary was saying. She did ask good questions however please stop talking over the guests. These people are top of their fields. The audience would like to hear their full points. There's not enough talk of nutrients. Gary did a great job explaining the need for nutrients. We are so consumed with pills when we need to eat whole foods that are nutrient dense. Please ask Dr Casey Means, Dr Robert Lustig PhD Endocrinologist as an introduction to foods. Lustig is the goat on sugar. You won't want to eat sugar after hearing what it does to mitochondria. Then ask Dr Anna Lembke Dopamine nation. She will explain how sugar works in brain. I was having trouble sleeping. And after listening to her, I realized I was getting Dopamine hits from my phone at night. I stopped and now I can sleep again. Thank you for having Gary as a guest. He is so informative. I learned so much listening to him
Concerning everyone automatically adding methyl folate on a daily basis - there is a percentage of people ( I am one) whose system has difficulty clearing methyl donors from our bodies. Methyl folate along with methylcabalamin (B-12) are ‘usually’ found in the same B vitamin supplement. When I first started taking methylated B vitamins on a daily basis, weird things started happening. I became very anxious, like a motor was constantly running in my body and I also had terrible brain fog - searching for words. Did 23andMe then a deep dive on my results ( with the help of geneticist Dr Ben Lynch) and found due to certain SNPs or defects in genes, my body didn’t clear methyl donors easily. So I began taking different forms of B12 and Folinic acid (not synthetic folic acid) until my methylation cycle was up and running good. Then I started incorporating back into my supplement routine the methylated B’s, but only every few days. Currently my folate and B-12 values are where I want them to be (testing) and my system is happy.
Thank you for saying that. I am a big fan of Dr. William Walsh's work who wrote the book Nutrient Power as his work literally saved my life after a copper supplement destroyed it. One thing I learned through his teachings and tests is I am an overmethylator and have to avoid methylated vitamins. Also folates can act as a serotonin reuptake promoter so this blanketed everyone take methylated folates while beneficial for some are harmful to others. We need better and more testing on individual levels.
I do take Dr. Ben Lynch supplements as his brand Designs for Health seems to be the only one that has high quality b vitamins that aren't methylated as an option.
@@epierce4770 , I agree. I wish our genetics were so simple. Each person has different genetic defects and what works for one person doesn’t work for another. I also watch supplements I take as some are methyl donors. Try to balance the amounts I get at one time. If too much, niacin will clear the methyl donors out.
This was super helpful. I am one of those women who works out religiously, strength training, and doing cardio four days a week, walking every day & managing stress. Eating super clean, no alcohol, no sugar, very little carbs, etc. i’ve tried intermittent fasting, getting off of all hormonal, birth control, etc. My sleep is dialled in. And I can’t lose the little bit of weight right under my belly button for the life of me. I’m going to try the dim supplement. If anyone else has tried anything that helps with water retention or estrogen imbalance, please let me know!
Upon hearing about the problem of bloating ; I paused and ordered metho supplement. It arrives tomorrow and I'm so excited. I paid to be tested for food allergies. Nothing I felt hopeless until today. Thank you for bringing truth.
I agree with everything he has said except for the information regarding the thyroid. In 95% of cases, hypothyroidism is caused by autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's). Thyroid antibodies attack the thyroid and cause damage. When an individual puts their autoimmune disease in remission, it can take 5-10 years for the thyroid to heal. For some people, it does not heal. Thyroid damage from antibodies can be confirmed through a thyroid ultrasound indicated by heterogeneity on the lobes. A thyroid releasing hormone test can confirm whether function has been returned to the thyroid. Patients with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism often have issues converting T4 into T3 in conjunction with low T4 and low T3 levels. He was touching on issues converting T4 to T3 in people with just low T3. That would benefit those without autoimmune disease. For those that do not have autoimmune disease of the thyroid, his advise is perfect. The body can become desensitized to high T3 levels. However, optimal T3 levels will benefit the body. Aloe vera juice may actually help increase the bodies tissue sensitivity to thyroid hormone. T3 levels naturally begin declining with age after the age of 30. Integrative doctors will often recommend implementing T3 to maintain optimal health. Natural desiccated thyroid is a great option. I personally would never go off of my T3 even if my thyroid healed because I LOVE how it makes me feel. The level of T3 that I have in my blood stream cannot be achieved through diet and supplements alone. Izabella Wentz and Dr Westin Child's are great advocates and very knowledgeable when it comes to thyroid issues. I would try and get them to come on your show. They can answer your questions regarding weight loss and how to maintain weight with or without thyroid hormone. It will not be said to be an option for everyone. There are many things that affect the conversion of T4 to T3 and Reverse T3. Hashimoto's 411 is a fb that has files on everything thyroid. Some examples of things that negatively affect the conversion of T4 to T3 are: aging, alcohol, fasting, pesticides, growth hormone deficiency, heavy metals, low progesterone, kidney and liver disease, radiation, medications, nutrient deficiencies, poor metabolic function, iodine excess, obesity, and soy.
That's untrue, Iodine excess and fasting does not affect thyroid. Look up and research from Dr. Elizabeth Bright, & Dr Brownstein especially the latter on Thyroid.... Iodine deficiency is the cause of thyroid issues, toxic halides like flouride, boride flush out iodine j
Great episode! Love seeing this genetic science being discussed. I have both slow COMT and heterozygous MTHFR variants, and understanding this changed my health journey. But it's crucial to know that methylation goes far beyond just MTHFR - it's a complex cycle involving multiple genes and enzymes. With slow COMT, my body processes methyl groups inefficiently, meaning methylated supplements can quickly overwhelm my system, causing anxiety, overstimulation, and brain fog. This is why I can't take methylfolate like many others do. This demonstrates why personalized genetic understanding is essential - what works for one person's methylation cycle could cause serious issues for another. Always know your own genetic profile before starting methylation protocols.
Gary is presenting information that is very useful, some of the questions that I have run into is timing for some of the items, the zero cost morning routine is great in the summer for light but winter is difficult for light. Cold plunge pre workout or post? Lot of variables and information on that. Salt is a big fundamental that was a big game change. Meal time to fasting ratio & protein quantity to match the usability. Just a few items
Gary I had recurring shingles for the past 3 years on an off antivirals that were very hard on the body. 2 months ago started taking Zinc and voila; no more shingles. After years of trial and error, I discovered I was ZINC deficient
Please ask more food scientists to come on. Also Dr Will Bulsiewicz can explain the gut. Kiran krishnan sorry spelling is a microbiologist. He can explain the immune system
I was diagnosed with hyper thyroid graves disease. I'm off thyroid medicine. For whatever reason, I haven't had a thyroid storm. My tumor in my throat went away. IT'S BEEN ALMOST 8 YEARS! All I changed was my diet and joined a cross fit gym. .. I would like to know if there's vitamins that can help? Or the ones you just name. Or if it's not broken, don't fix it? Asking for a friend...😅
This is key! Changing the diet. I learned this from Dr Casey Means and the way she explains how the body searches for nutrients in foods. I fill my diet with whole foods. My inflammation and pain gone!
Lauren didn’t you say in a previous episode that you have creatine and the kion mango aminos? Doesn’t the mango flavour Break a fast? And do you use the mango with your coffee?
So carbs that have vitamins are not essential?? Its not true that you cant exercise in a fasted state after for example waking up in the morning. What matters is that you ate well the day before that your glycogen stores are full enough.
I’m a bi polor bodybuilder. Rember meds aren’t a weekness saves my life if you need it you need it . Just be careful and Focus on your symptoms not your diognost. Stay rad 🙏💪
I am at 2:00. I am a 50 years old woman diagnosed with RA at the age of 23. Total Knee Replacements at the age of 30. Damaged fingers, toes, osteoporosis in my neck and shoulders. Infertility. (I have 3 adopted children) 3 years ago I was in hospital with an inflamed finger. My D3 level was above 100 and the doctor said I had D3 toxicity and I must stop taking d3k2, and she put me back to MTX. 😢 Of course since then I take d3k2 and I will never give it up, Mg, B komplex (I have MTHFR and Faktor V Leiden mutations), Omega3…… Without Steroid I cant get out from bed. I left MTX for some months because I hate it but I must start it again. ( I take Methylfolate from amazon Germany)
He keeps talking about the Thorne brand. I can’t specifically find the mentholated multivitamin. I see a multivitamin, but it’s not a methylfolate multivitamin. There’s a menthyl guard plus and a 5 MTHR, and a B menthyl but not specifically a menthylated multivitamin by Throne like he keeps stating. Does anyone know what specific one he’s talking about from Thorne?
My husband is a retired bodybuilder and trainer and from day one (we met at a gym 😂 I swear) always talked about amino acids because I was on st tropica to thicken my hair and be said amino acids also - Dr Kruse, a well known neurosurgeon says we need to get out vitamin d though the sun, and the way it’s taken in through the eye is necessary. Thoughts from the host as I tend to run on the lower end of D would like to know, also is Barlean’s a good fish oil? I’ve cleaned my diet and gotten off prescriptions eating fresh, organic, and was getting sun daily before it was so darn cold to sit outside.
I was trying to tell this to my Obgyn when she was pushing folic acid on to me 🤦🏼♀️ I had to go to a different OB, who was not knowledgeable either, but was more agreeable I was never tested for gene mutation, I just know that I have it, cause any time I eat any fortified foods like bread or supplements that contain folic acid I get severe panic attack and anxiety
Gary Brecka is amazing, but had to stop watching. I can find him on lots of podcasts where the host(-ess, in this case) isn't interrupting constantly. The female host even interrupts the male host! Show some respect and let your guests shaire their expertise. Also irritating voice!
Current research shows it doesn’t matter when you do protein except it’s best to take the aminos on an empty stomach 30 min before eating, so I just take them when I get up. And then workout later in the day.
Question: aren't there people who will feel worse with metyl folate? I read MTHFR mutation can act in two ways and that some people will feel worse taking metyl folate.
So I am dealing with RA like symptoms. My sister and father are being treated for RA, without testing positive with specific blood tests like anti-ccp. How do I avoid this downward spiral? And I preface saying that with the fact that I do all the things.... eat 90% carnivore, weight train, yoga, red light, supplements....hrt... 5000iu d3 with K2 . I have random inflammation in my joints, which is extremely painful. Help???
Hi I have the same issue. I had to go 100% carnivore. I actually had to go extreme and I only eat Ribeye steak, salt, water and I still have organic black coffee. I've been eating this way for 2yrs now. It was the only way I could stop the painful flares!
Look into GAPS intro diet. Dr Natasha Campbell I think? Amazing success. Focus on healing the gut and slowly reintroducing diff healthy fermented veg/dairy once you repair the lining
@ Did all that for years and that is how i overcame a whole host of issues with my gut. Just recently has reared its ugly head again. I think my estradiol is plateauing. ???
I've been making a lot of losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading on a demo account is just like trading the real market. Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do💔
It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot Georgette Wong! Imagine i invested $20,000 and received $80,500 after 2weeks
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like Georgette Wong.
I have a high b12 level, 1700. I do not supplement b12, but do take super B 100, vitamin B complex sustained release, for 21 days, then skip for 7 days when I try to focus on fast or fast mimicking protocol. I am dealing with stage 4 NSCL CANCER, ALK+, diagnosed 8.5 yrs ago, so I am concerned with the escalating B12 levels from 800-900 to 1700 over last 2 yrs. I have been dealing with progression of the cancer for about 18 months, markers trending up, couple new lesions. Would like to know what you think, is there any correlation? Please let me hear from you. Thank you.
Savatrydamsaran1877 Thanks for sharing, your similar situation. I recently listened to a podcast, where there was discussion about MTHFR gene, supposedly if the B12 in the supplement B is not methylated, and you have the MTHFR GENE, than your body is not able to properly metabolize the B12. I have that gene. I was on target therapy and it definitely messed with my metabolism in a big way, so perhaps there is some correlation. It’s just my thoughts, based on my experience. I have been off that drug almost 3 months now, and my weight came down to my normal, down about 24-25 lbs, and my cholesterol came down to my normal, from being elevated by 223 points in a matter of 2 weeks and my neuropathy went away. Sadly, the drug stopped working against my cancer, and I am having progression. No new med options for me, I’ve exhausted the 3 generations and did not qualify for the clinical trial for the 4th generation.
Sir….when a woman reaches perimenopause and menopause and post menopause this is so different than nutrition. I have a high fiber high protein nutrient diet and work out 4-5 days per week and at age 47 and perimenopausal life is so much harder. It had to have started at age 46 for me and my doctors did nothing but I kept on my nutrient dense diet. I did not lack on vitamins or have deficiencies and still don’t and perimenopause has knocked me off my feet. No sir!
Gary, I don’t understand why you say it’s okay to have vegan diet but then you say, carbohydrates are not essential in the diet? I wish you would encourage an animal based diet more.
I’ve been trying to search the brands for the methylated multivitamins and can’t seem to find them. Am I missing something? I need help apparently 😂 so if someone could help me that would be greatly appreciated!
I disagree on his comment that hormones don’t cause PP depression- we go through a mini menopause, a sudden drop in female sex hormones will ABSOLUTELY affect our mental health PP. Also, there is such a thing as over methylation- which can cause anxiety like symptoms.
28:20 i stop listening when he asked for an affiliation and all the vitamin owners being their friends. I’m not listening to this podcast anymore. so difficult to find honest unbiased info nowadays. Plus al that fear-inducing talking. This is WRONG. im out
Please please please do a 10 part series with Gary!!! This episode was AMAZING!!!
Gary is brilliant 👏
As an older person, I find this hilarious because It's a review of what's been going on in the health industry forever. Nothing new here just the verbiage is a little more technical. The younger ones are clinging to his every word looking for that one magic vitamin. Money is made by these people and the vitamin company's. Eat good food, get out in the sun and fresh air, take a multiple vitamin and get on with your life.
Exactly...he is a newbie relatively speaking in the bohacking space and saying nothing new other than it is his new business.
Very, very well said 👏 I've been in the health industry 20 years. New face, old information.
The only good food is meat. Everything else is poison, because it's sprayed, denatured by storage etc. even meat is dodgy to some extent.
@@mrlouielou32 Yes that is what functional medicine, naturopaths have been doing for decades.
The real issue is the quality of food we have available. We have so many poisons in our food these days. Best guest and interview so far! Learned so much! Gary should definitely come back on the podcast 🙏🏻
SO GLAD you’re asking about brands!

@@HJSHDLyou still need magnesium. At least incorporate a food source to get it. We should be getting most of our nutrients from food not supplements.

I’ve cleaned my diet and gotten off prescriptions eating fresh, organic, and was getting sun daily before it was so darn cold to sit outside.
Amazing info ❤

I was trying to tell this to my Obgyn when she was pushing folic acid on to me 🤦🏼♀️ I had to go to a different OB, who was not knowledgeable either, but was more agreeable
I was never tested for gene mutation, I just know that I have it, cause any time I eat any fortified foods like bread or supplements that contain folic acid I get severe panic attack and anxiety
Thanks you guys great conversation! 🫶one love💚
I don’t take vitamins not to say certain things I supplement but I try to get these from nutrition sources vs a pill.
Would you provide the specific link to Cymbaiotika’s multivitamin? Their website is a bit confusing
Looking for the same
Gary Brecka is amazing, but had to stop watching. I can find him on lots of podcasts where the host(-ess, in this case) isn't interrupting constantly. The female host even interrupts the male host! Show some respect and let your guests shaire their expertise. Also irritating voice!
THANK YOU!!!🙏
Can a list of multivitamins be displayed? We hear all the time take this, take that but no one discusses brands that are soluble.
A good multi vitamin is whole foods!
@ yes! 🙌🏼 common sense I would hope.
If you do an evening workout after work, sat 6-7pm… when should you take amino acids in that case? 🙂
Current research shows it doesn’t matter when you do protein except it’s best to take the aminos on an empty stomach 30 min before eating, so I just take them when I get up. And then workout later in the day.
Hey Gary, you ARE getting paid from Aion! You're an Ambassador!
Pretty sure this was recorded before they finalized the deal
Love Gary. He is transparent. Watched him on many shows
Perhaps I missed this -- but if you do NOT have the MTHFR gene variant, is he saying you can take a non-methylated multivitamin?
From what I understand, he’s saying it won’t hurt you to take it either way
Where was the vest from?
While we all must follow Gary advice, its even more important to stop listening to modern doctors.
Can anyone recommend a brand Vitamin B vitamin that meets his requirements?
I really like Mother Earth Labs methylated b complex
Question: aren't there people who will feel worse with metyl folate? I read MTHFR mutation can act in two ways and that some people will feel worse taking metyl folate.
Design for health makes an excellent prenatal. My patients do very well on it
Why would the body be designed to burn muscle before it burns fat?
Can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do💔
I got 80% of my total portfolio in Crypto and it has been great Returns
It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot Georgette Wong! Imagine i invested $20,000 and received $80,500 after 2weeks
Absolutely! Profits are possible, especially now, but complex transactions should be handled by experienced market professionals.
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like Georgette Wong.
Finding yourself a good broker is as same as finding a good wife, which you go less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at things
Thank you.
Same with me. Vit b12 in levels above the range and cancer markers trending up.Also, my IGF-1 is 200% above the required upper range.

Thanks for sharing, your similar situation.
@evafrank7019 I am sending health and healing your way.
No sir!
Omega 3 salmon chia seeds cod liver oil
Love it
Obsessed with this episode!
What brand of straw?
You even have ads that play DURING your voice over ads! Ugh.
Ugh really wanted to hear what he was about to say about heavy metals you guys cut everyone off all the time
Cilantro and parsley for heavy metals
Gary, I don’t understand why you say it’s okay to have vegan diet but then you say, carbohydrates are not essential in the diet? I wish you would encourage an animal based diet more.
Why?
What about IBD ?
Almost got an answer about d3 but you interrupted him..
What about minerals?
Bastard interaption ot great gary brecka
Why then did neuro tube defects decrease in newborns after pregnant women started taking folic acid?
28:20 i stop listening when he asked for an affiliation and all the vitamin owners being their friends. I’m not listening to this podcast anymore. so difficult to find honest unbiased info nowadays. Plus al that fear-inducing talking. This is WRONG. im out
