I think Cahir became undone when the Emhyr ordered him to kill his elf friend. That may have started him doubting everything he previously believed to be true. Or he finally realized that he wasn't held in any great esteem by the White Flame. Put simply the Emhyr was manipulative and used people, Cahir included. Fringilla killed Artorious because he never really supported her and belittled her in their last meeting when she went to him for help.
Yup, good that cahir has the intellectual maturity of a 16 year old, to come to this realization after he stabbed his elf friend. You know like those teenagers who break up with their bf/gf because your friends said he/she is ugly and stupid and then after the breakup you realize what an idiot you are? His advice was cold. He didn't care about her. He basically taught her that blood doesn't mean anything.
I enjoy watching the new season, just taking the show for what it is, but that momenet with Stregobor coming in to "save the day" really bugged me. What are the writers trying to make us feel here? Are we supposed to suddenly sympathize with him as a hero and good guy who redeems himself by showing up to kill the elves he hates so much? The show has established that he is basically a racist who wants elf genocide. They have painted him as a villain based on this (+ others things he did, like torturing young girls ofc). He was confronted about his nasty list of elves and "half-bloods" only last episode. And now he gets to be the savior all of a sudden, and him stepping in to eradicate the elves with fire is a GOOD thing that we should applaud? That really left a sour taste in my mouth, seeing him fulfill his desire to kill elves (based on his hatred of their race) and this being presented as a win for the mages and by extension our main characters that we root for. If nothing else, I find it to be confusing and poor writing.
The Redanian soldiers couldn't hear or see the secret stone wall closing right next to them. The big boss woman with the eroded jaw fell way too easily to the forest spriggan magic. Those were Arrows +2. Maybe +3. What a shame that the Elves had to die for the black flame again. I think Fringilla just demonstrated her feminine superiority by killing the black Uncle. All the female leaders came out alive while male soldiers around them died. Thesea just had white hair but was mostly as before. What could have been the function of the jewel bracelt that was given to Thesea by the Arab traitor? She later lost it.
