  • Dollar General trailer driver lost control, clipped pole, and ran. He was so lucky there wasn't someone going the other way. He was caught a few miles up the road by PA State Police.

I mean, it’s pretty funny on my end, or at least I thought so, when I was typing it out so I’m not so sure what changed exactly. However, I have a very strong gut feeling that it isn’t so much me and my comedic value and/or my portfolio of work, but really more so, all of the “I ain’t got no sense of humor, boy”, stick in the mud types that I am working with, so from the very start, I’m working with an 0-2 pitch as my first pitch of my at bat… if that makes sense. If he missed the fact that he clipped a pole hard enough to break it he realized it when he stopped next and looked at his trailer. I tend to think he knew it because he should certainly have looked in his mirrors once he got straight again. He would have been able to see some of the devastation he left behind as well as the driver behind him stopped in the road. Good chance he kept going to avoid all that comes with getting caught. Next time DO NOT get out of your vehicle. Thats exactly how people get electrocuted. You’re safe in the vehicle since it’s a Faraday cage.

    • @shroomhauler
      @shroomhauler  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for that.Hopefully there wont be a next time.I gave it a look around, and getting out ,although wrong seemed like the right descision.

    • @ev6558
      @ev6558 Месяц назад

      The reason you are safe is because the rubber tires and air inside them prevents you from being grounded. That is not how a Faraday cage works. Good try though.

    • @stevemcqueen399
      @stevemcqueen399 Месяц назад

      @@ev6558 😂 Clearly you’re not an engineer. That is exactly how a Faraday cage works and my statement is easily googled. The air and rubber in your tires isn’t doing anything for you other than conducting the energy into the ground. I’ll pose the same question to you the lineman instructor at the academy asked and let you answer it for yourself.
      “Do you really think that a lighting bolt that has just traveled 10miles through the air with 300 million volts and 30,000 amps of energy is going to be stopped by a 1/2 inch of rubber and air?”.
      In other words electricity seeks the path of least resistance and all that metal in a car channels the energy around you and into the ground. This is the same reason airplanes get hit by lightning all the time and people don’t get hurt at all. It’s important to understand that with downed power lines that energy can travel 100ft or more through the ground. There are many instances of first responders being killed as they step out of their vehicles from downed power-lines and the 1/2” of rubber in their shoes didn’t save them.
