He really tore them a new one for taking so long, in addition to the crappy treatment he and his band received. I mean come on $10k a head for everyone beyond Steve and his wife. Awesome move hiring Tom Brislin. I saw Kansas a few years ago when their last studio album was released and the keyboard player was the weak link (not too bad on organ, but he couldn't play the synth parts at all.) Brislin plays Kerry's old parts to perfection and this is the first time in many, many years that Kansas has played "Song For America" the way it suppose to be played. Kudos to Tom and Kudos to Kansas for hiring him.

Whatever or whoever is handling the quality control mechanism in this band is obviously still taking his job extremely seriously. For a band that lost several ‘key’ members, they haven’t suffered losing those components hardly at all. Their playing as a unit is still deadly spot on and their new album is ridiculously stellar. Unreal that this band isn’t in the HOF.

No Steve No Kansas??? Utter BS. The great 1970s Walsh was gone from mid 1990s on.
And from 2003 on, he was getting increasingly worse on vocals ( Billy Greer actually did high harmony vocals behind him). I've seen Kansas once a year since 2001, save 2016. This lineup is damn good, almost as good as the original six. Breslin on keyboards is a coup. Musically, this band kicks butt.
Ronnie Platt can not be Walsh, it is dreaming to expect otherwise. Platt entering the band allowed them to do older songs they hadn't done live since the early 90s( and a few not done since the original six era), due to Platt being able to hit notes Walsh couldn't hit anymore. Do I miss Walsh?? Only the version that existed prior to the year 2000. One ex Kansas member I do miss is Robby Steinhardt, on second lead vocal/harmony vocals.( not dissing Billy Greer here, he's superb), but, as with Walsh, that ship has sailed. And the new songs are wonderful prog rock tunes. Enjoy, it is better than no Kansas at all.
