Im not heartbroken about when spyro 4 is coming out. Im just happy it’s finally being developed after all these years since 2018 ❤ he deserves allot more love 💗
Here are my thoughts on a potential Spyro 4: 1. Larger more open levels makes sense for spyro 4 however open world does not because it would mean losing the unique level themes. Perhaps an open world home world to bridge between level portals would be good (imagine spyro 4s home world but done better) 2. I hope they keep spyros controls the same but add some new moves. A corkscrew dash or a launch up move perhaps, moves that could be used in both combat and platforming would be cool. 3. If you or the Devs have not seen Zera myths Awakens you really should as they do a great job of emulating and improving a spyro like move set. 4. Playable hunter with 3rd person Archery would be awesome. Playable Elora or Bianca would also be cool. 5. I really hope they fix the hover glitch in spyro 4. (If you try to hover too soon it does not work) 6. Being locked into different breath elements for different home worlds/sets to levels would be a fun way to vary gameplay. E.g Ice power levels where the water freezes as you walk on it or wind levels where you can breath down to launch you up mid flight. 7. An evolving home world would be cool so it cycles through the seasons unlocking unreachable areas as you progress. Either that or a metroidvania style where you gain abilities to reach new sections. 8. Obviously Stewart Copeland's return is a must, along with the voice cast. 9. The restoring dark levels like kera and Okami sounds fun but I hope the don't make every level dark and sad when you first enter it. Spyro is best when it's bright and quirky. I wish TFB the best of luck in making Spyro 4.
There's a term for it, I forget what but it's not true open world it's more like dishonored 2s way of doing levels They feel open enough which I'm fine with either or
That would be "semi-open", since it features linear point-A to point-B travel progression, but has just enough freedom that makes it so one could have more choice on how to get there, and most worlds end up being a loop (outside of Hub-Worlds, which are straight up open).
In all honestly I could careless about what type of style it is as long as its my boy Spyro in the driver seat. and plays like 1 2 and 3 yes I included 3 because I did love that game as well
@@ThatGuyAgen read the message again. the video is about the direction of spyro 4 and it being open world. I think that a lot of what makes Spyro unique as a game was its unique level design. I think making the levels bigger would work but making it an entire open world would muddy the design aspects that make Spyros levels fun. I really don't want the next game to be open world. We have so many open world games already, and I want a Spyro sequel to be what makes Spyro great instead of chasing trends.
I agree. I think that a more interconnected world would be really cool, but Enter the Dragonfly showcased why big, largely empty worlds may hurt Spyro's level design. I think T4B understand what makes Spyro good, so I don't think they'll go down the road of most modern open-world games, but rather will have a more interconnected world that allows players to explore different areas as they feel like it.
@MichaelHill-sg8ks enter the dragonfly was also half finished when they released it. So we don't actually know how an open world spyro would be if it is a truly finished product. Not something half assed rushed into production.
If spyro is getting a new game I will wait, we waited till reignited was made. So loyal fans are willing to wait longer for a new masterpiece involving our purple boy.
Bigger doesn't always mean better, if they do make much bigger worlds with little to do in them we could have another Enter the Dragonfly on our hands. Also it could make them spend more time than needed on such a game, basically missing out on a potential 2 to 3 year wait going past that limit, I would rather see every space get it's use and feel living and breathing with the NPCs that populate them and the more you do in these worlds, the more opportunities open up for missions and side quests, basically feeling like a proper evolution of the worlds in the PS1 trilogy, even just having NPCs wander around and having a schedule of stuff they do on top of bantering with other NPCs would be a small touch that would add a lot of personality to the worlds you visit. Also additional playable characters I would love to see again in a Spyro game, just have them more platform focused as to not feel out of place, like with certain segments in Spyro 3 that killed the mood. I want to see a Playable Bianca and Hunter being in, that's my only request, I guess also Agent 9 but on the condition he strictly goes for a Ratchet and Clank inspired gameplay, which wouldn't deviate much from well a platformer, cause that's what Ratchet and Clank is. I feel Bianca could be more puzzle based platforming using her magic alter the environment to progress, Hunter going for a Zelda and Tomb Raider inspired platforming that doubles down on exploration. I do hope we get some sort of trailer or announcement later this year on the status on TFB's new game cause man we need a Spyro comeback more than ever.
Something else you should add. Every main series Spyro game has a different villain introduced (not counting Enter the Dragonfly) and one villain to include is Dark Spyro. It was a skin in CTRNF and a boss character in Crash on the Run stating Dark Spyro is one of Spyro's notorious enemies, yet hasn't made any appearance in the original series. Spyro 4 should bring Gnasty Gnorc back as he was with Dark Spyro in Crash on the Run, and he could most likely be responsible for creating Dark Spyro.
I think that if we will get a teaser this year, it will most likely be at The Game Awards, because as far as I know, it's the last big gaming event of the year, which will give them the maximum amount of time to develop the game so they will have something to show.
I just hope if they adopt more of an open world aspect, it's not in the same vein as AAA open world games. I feel like if Spyro lost the "home world with portals" thing, a big part of its identity would be lost. Beautiful themed home worlds with corresponding portals to every level is a series staple, and I would be very sad to see them go. I typically like the concept of an open world game, but they tend to have the issue of falling short in the "content" category. The world is often too big for devs to fill it with a myriad of interesting things to find around every corner, so they tend to feel a bit empty.
Honestly I 100% expect that either we get Cynder as a playable character OR a skin. She's a fan favorite character so I could 100% see them bringing in a 'classic trilogy' version of her. and of course Flame and Ember skins for the two and Dark Spyro, of course.
I sure hope it isn't. We already have way too many open world games that have no business being open world. We need more of that Spyro 1 level design in games. The reason the reignited trilogy NEEDED to just be a 1 to 1 reason of the original game is because the original dev team nailed every part of that game which still holds up today. Bring that back!
9:15 Open world... Kena... blooming moments... This is SO AHT-coded. It's basically the bread and butter of the whole game. Especially considering how Reignited's aesthetic rang closer to AHT often. Even the fact that Spyro is slightly more pink. Makes me think that they might do a game with AHT-adjacent elements, if not a direct remake. Plus, if they go for UE5, the Dark Gem mechanic would be a great excuse to have some cinematic "kino" moments, which is common when games want to show off a newer engine.
I’m crossing all my fingers and toes that Spyro 4 features a Dark Spyro story mechanic, something similar to the Symbiote suit in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2. That would be the coolest thing ever!
"Blossoming Moments." Him putting emphasis on that reminded my of how the Dark Crystals corrupted the environment in A Hero's Tail, but healed when you smashed them. Just like how crash for made some small nods to Wrath of Cortex, I would not be surprised if Spyro for made references to Enter the Dragonfly or/and A Hero's tail, as well as others in the franchise.
I could be in the minority here, but I hope Spyro doesn’t go full open world. My favorite things from the original trilogy personally revolved around the games collectathon elements. I believe there are some good lessons to learn from open world games though that could be translated in interesting ways. Specifically, I think it would be great if Spyro had pseudo-open worlds like the ones in Super Mario Odyssey that allow for freedom of exploration and movement, while keeping a space that is small enough to still implement the same collectathon ideas. This would be pretty ideal middle ground that I think would make a worthwhile sequel without completely losing some of the core pieces that made the old games so fun to play
Spyro mixed with breath of the wild with a little bit of Minecraft to build little dragon lairs around the map. Also progressive fight abilities leading to near endless flight around the maps.
You forgot to mention that the team now is much smaller than before so they might need extra development time unless they get some help from other studios on this project which I believe will be the case
That would be awesome! An open world spyro game would be nice. And I would love to see Cynder, flame and Ember in the game as well. I hope to see Spyro 4 news with Cynder and others coming back. We have not seen anything of Cyner since Skylanders Academy.
I... really wouldn't appreciate an open world Spyro, actually. Hear me out. As someone that's been gaming for a very long time and has played his fair share of open world games, I'd ultimately think that this would be a VERY bad move for Spyro as a series, and would probably halt the series forever. Yes, Spyro is designed to be an exploration based platformer with mini challenges scattered through current area, and you'd think that would translate to Open world, but think about it for a moment. Much of the reason why the realms in prior games work so well is because they were smaller, more detailed, and much more deliberate in design. These small, semi-open worlds allow just enough room for freedom of exploration while still being a very well crafted and catered experience. What happens when you transform the game into what is essentially one really big hub world with enemies, bosses, and mini-games strewn all about? Freedom of movement would go up, sure, but the chance of the well crafted and more detailed experience would go down as a trade off. Further, considering that the most popular method (as well as perhaps the most BORING) of open world is the UBISOFT style, it could also straight up kill off the sense of discovery and wonder the Spyro's original trilogy excelled at. This could also have the possibility of limiting or even removing some of the more unique locations available. Try to imagine Spyro 2 or 3 as an Open world with all of its stages, and you'd have to delete several stages JUST BECAUSE they wouldn't cohesively fit together. Finally, if the series did do this, what then? What could Spyro as a series possibly do after going open world? Make a bigger open world? Bigger isn't always better, after all. Spyro 4 should really stick with the semi-open structure, maybe play with how exploration works, add more verticality, get creative with level design and level themes, maybe even give Spyro himself more powers that would allow him to travel and explore, with breath powers that have exploratory functions outside of combat. This would at least give Spyro more room to grow as a series.
@@remyrotten True. My speculations are practically assumptions, as I am not a game designer nor do I know what TFB are actually cooking up. I'm just afraid that if they do go the Open world route, it would be extremely easy to screw up and/or stagnate the series, as other companies have done in the past. Maybe TFB COULD pull it off, but I'd honestly rather appreciate a more traditional Spyro game (ala the Insomniac Trilogy) over jumping into what is essentially the last evolution of an exploration focused game.
@@pederotterson4119 Isn't a 3D zelda game just a 2-D zelda game, but now you can reliably use the vertical axis in interesting ways? That said, I would understand why some people don't like the actual open world Zelda games, like BotW or TotK...
They could make it an open world in a way like "A Hero's Tail" was open world - transition between levels masked with invisible loading screens, giving the illusion of open world.
If we're not going to see Spyro 4 until late 2025 or worse, 2026 or later then TFB NEEDS to at least announce Spyro 4 some time this year. Hope for Spyro 4 is already at an all time low, and if they wait too long all the excitement will be long gone and people won't even care anymore when it does finally get announced. Not only that, but taking too long with the game will only set expectations way too high. Spyro 4 is already at risk of meeting the same fate as Kingdom Hearts 3, an overall great game brought down by simply not being worth the near 10 year wait.
Very well said. That's why, while I did enjoy Rumble, I still believe that they should have released a Spyro 4 and maybe even a CTR 2 (games that most fans would logically expect and wish for after the remakes), before attempting to make even more experimental spin offs.
@@Ell40 I will always stand by the idea that if the rumors of CTRumble having to restart development were true that TFB should have either shelved it for later if not outright canned it so they could work on Spyro 4 instead. At least that way they'd have been able to make a game people actually wanted, and not a game that, let's be real, hardly anyone was actually asking for apart from those who were up to their eyeballs in the sunk cost fallacy.
@@grunner7557 Exactly. I think most fans would agree with you. Let's hope for a bright future for TFB and the fans. What other games do you like to play while waiting for Spyro 4?
I want portals 😠 ! 😆 And that Stewart Copeland makes the music of course The look of spyro could be shiny scales and dark golden horns And please no rustical kitschty wooden decorations and details in the game ( insomniac did not do that )only stones gems and crystals golden and silver decorations ( little bit oriental like in the original games ) ornamental details and skyboxes with beautiful colors like in the original game Floating islands with waterfalls who are falling to the sky , flaoting castles , hilly landscapes ,
As a fan of both the original trilogy and the Legend trilogy, my biggest (however unlikely) dream would be to have both Stewart Copeland and Rebecca Kneubuhl (the main composers of the respective series) on board for the soundtrack and mood-setting of Spyro 4. As mixed as the reception for the Legend series was, even the most negative of reviews praised the soundtrack as the best part of the games. Kneubuhl's compositions would definitely complement any kind of open-world concept, too. I think Spyro 4 is an unmissable opportunity for offering fans something new, since TFB won't be confined to making a faithful recreation of something pre-existing. They could really spread their wings (ha) and make an interesting new game that still keeps some of the best aspects of the previous games.
10:25, My 1 wish is that is it a TRUE SEQUEL to the original 3, but hoping it's not an absolute mess like Enter the Dragonfly was. I also really think Elora should get to meet Bianca for the first time ever. The 2 of them never actually formally met and since they made Elora a playable character in CTRumble, Hunter a playable character in Hero's Tail & CTRacing, I'm pretty sure they can make Bianca one too. It would be a really good present to see the 4 of the 6 biggest Spyro characters (Sparx and Cynder being the other 2) being the "New playable Characters"
I would like to bring up enter the dragonfly. It was hot garbage, but... It had one idea that stuck around the gba games, hero's tail, and legend of. Breath weapons for spyro. I would think it could almost work like the beam selector in metroid prime, with each being the answer to different puzzles and enemies.
To me the obvious thing when going open world is looking at how they franchise has done something similar before, in Legends of Spyro: Dawn of the dragon we might’ve had something more akin to open zones but the way it was traversed could very much be taken inspiration from to develop movement tech for the new game.
I could totally see them redesigning spyro's art style. Im pretty sure they want a visual distinction from the reignighted trilogy for both marketing and just to give it more of its own identity.
Spyro 4 can be anything it wants as long as it’s not a free to play cash grab with microtransactions I’ll get it because people need to remember how games used to come out, buy game get game and maybe some dlc story, that’s it nothing else
Honestly, I really hope not. It has been 26 years since Spyro 1 and 24 years since Spyro 3. I would love to have a traditional Spyro game just one more time before we go and try experimenting again.
Great video! Lots of exciting news here, it really seems like the new Spyro game is shaping up to be a masterpiece, can't wait to play it and I hope they decide take their time with it! To be honest though, I also hope they DON'T do what they did with Crash 4 by making it a direct sequel to the original games. Not that it shouldn't come after them, but I think it should just happen vaguely sometime a while after the events of those (and possibly even all pre reboot) games. My reasoning is that with Crash there was a big plot hole (and a few smaller ones) that needed to be resolved so it made sense, but with Spyro the timeline has always been loose but still generally made sense and while there may be plotholes that could be explored, there is already a direct sequel to the OG games (EtD) and while it is not a great game I think it would be best to not make the post Insomniac games no longer canon, but rather to add to the canon. For that same reason I also hope they don't actually title it Spyro 4.
The Legend games didn't have world portals, and they still felt like Spyro. In fact, they made some of the journeys between places into flight sequences with unique gameplay. That all helped give the world a feeling of depth. I agree that the isolated, portal-connected worlds suit the more carefree and less serious atmosphere of the original games, but TFB shouldn't be confined to said atmosphere for all future Spyro games, as it's already been demonstrated that Spyro also works as part of a deeper, more cohesive world.
Maybe they can take some things from both Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie and Jak 1 where each world naturally connects to each other with no load times but have the entrances of each of these worlds more stylized. Enter the Dragonfly kind of did this but there was still loading for the levels. Spyro Metroidvania anyone? Lol
Make with spyro playable hunter Elora and Bianca. i thank would Mack a great 4 playable charters for a spyro 4 hands down and would stay in sprite to the original 3 games.
Im super excited to see waht this new Spyro game will be. An open world could be interesting. The semi open world from Spyro a Heroes Tail was pretty good. So a full open world could work, if its filled to the brim with details, riddles, chanllenges and of course rewardinmg collectibles. Even a gear system like in the legend of spyro could be nice. For Spyros design, please no changes, for his skillset, would be nice if he got some new moves in his arsenal, like in A heroes Tail (next to the original my favorite spyro game, deserves a remake as well). So what could be nice additions to his skillset; different elemental breathings(Ice, Lightning, Water....) specialy for roddles and different enemys, Claw, horn and tail attacks for meele combat, could ne nice, distingt Air and water combat, yeah why not. Spyro 5 ( A heroes Tail) had many additions to his skill set, without going to far from the original experience. I think that is the most difficult challenge for the entire game. Keep the roots, but aading fresh new mechanics. So what else additional playable chars; yes please. I love the segments in Spyro 3 with the others, It gives a fresh spice to the gamoplay. So please bring back Sgt.Bird, Sheela, Bently and Agent 9. And of course the Sparx levels. Also Levels or Segments with Elora, Hunter, Blink (The nephew of the professor, Spyro 5) or someone completly new. Hell yeah a colab with Crash or other oldshool Video game heroes like Sly cooper, Ratchet, Banjo could be nice, as long as they are nicly implementet into the world and not there here because why not. Maybe that is a perfekt chance to bring back Ember, from The legend of Spyro. These games just didnt go with me, to different from the original, but i liked the char. What would be nice, of course depending on how the world is designed, that you can always switch between chars to approach challenges differently. Also this could be a nice way to implement Coop. Special segmets Who else loved parts like the skating or the hover tanks in part 3. I just hope something like this comes back as well. Also the Sparx level, either the Top down shooter like part 3 or the ray shooter like part 5, thei were just so good. And of course the flight challenges. All these brings good diverity to the gameplay, therefore I hope they return in some form. Skins and collectibles Something that can be perfectly be combined. In the original 3, getting 100 percent is something I always do, but It does not feel very rewarding. In 2 and 3 you get to new Bonus levels, in two the infinite super flame of course. Its nice yes, but it could be more. Also Part 5 did a good approch, collecting dragon eggs unlocked skins and concept arts. Gems you used to buy stuff from moneybags. He had keys for doors and chests, bombs and upgrades. So please includ skins, as long as there are only unlocked by gameplay and not with real money. Sadly that has to be said nowadays. What would be my wish for the game. Thats hard, I just want a new nice spyro game. Maybe something new, hopefully with features I mentoned above. A game with both the classic feelimg and a fresh note. But also a remake for Spyro 4 & 5 ( heres "Enter the dragonfly" could be made to the the game, what it should have been). A HD collection of the many GBA titles, Hell even an remake for the legend of Spyro would be cool. The only thing that should never ever return is that thing from Skylanders. That abomination of a Design, along with the desginer can burn in the deepest part of hell. Whatever it will be, I will be playing it. The future hopefully holds many good things for Spyro, so that he gets the attention he deserve.
If it started development in late 2023 than anything before late 2027 is unlikely. And even that is pushing it. 2028/2029 is more likely. Game development takes longer now than back in the PS3/Xbox 360 days when Skylanders was at its peak. I never played those but didn't they reuse environments and stuff from previous games? I thought aside from the new Skylanders, it was basically the same game. Their contributions on Call of Duty are just maps too, right? Not undermining the difficulty of that task but it doesn't take as long as creating a whole game from scratch. I feel like Spyro 4 would take more time than the remakes, since the groundwork was already laid with those. Spyro is more open than Crash so it would probably take longer than Crash 4. And Crash Team Rumble was a GaaS multiplayer game. These don't generally seem to take nearly as much development time as single-player games with full story modes. They're swifter and cheaper to release, which is why the whole industry is trying to jump on that bandwagon. And that took 3 years after Crash 4. So I imagine you won't be getting Soyro 4 until at least holiday 2027, if everything goes to plan
Given all that has been happening, there is a lot more evidence suggesting a Spyro 4 is being made, and with T4B being independent now, it gives me more hope than I have had for this in years! And I’ve always dismissed rumors and speculation, so this is big
I’d love to see Cynder and/or Ignitus be included somehow. Especially considering Ignitus was originally planned to be revealed as Spyro’s biological father (they never actually went through with it though, so it’s never mentioned in the Legend trilogy.) It’d be nice if they at least mention that he’s his father somewhere in Spyro 4. And if I’m being honest, Cynder was too much of a badass not to include. Even though I feel like some of her character writing was poor, I think she does have a lot of potential. Heck even Ember and Flame could make an appearance. Even if it’s brief. The possibilities are endless.
Funnily enough, i think a Sonic frontiers style Spyro game would go hard. Open world with lots of stuff to do, with extra self-contained levels as well
Honestly I’d be happy if spyro 4 was just like 1,2&3 with just a few upgrades nothing too complicated. Maybe having upgrades for spyro like his wings; making him take off from the ground higher rather than just jumping and gliding, gliding longer, using them as a shield. His horns become stronger, his flame breath is more potent, lasts longer or goes further and these upgrades can be your choosing so they impact your game different to others. Don’t forget to Include all sparxes upgrades from Spyro 3 too. I played a few spyro games after 1,2&3 and they drifted too far away from the classics
if it were me, my game inspiration would be the ps2 game harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban ... hear me out. you would have 3-4 protagonists that have a similar skill set in an open world but each character can do their own thing. for example where ron in the ps2 game could see hidden walls, elora can for example. you can freely swap characters in the open world and you can find portals helping people transporting you into a linear typical spyro level collecting more gems and whatver collectible that would further progress into the open world. i can see spyro, hunter and elora being the main three and also maybe bianca each having their own schtick. spyro can glide into unreachable areas, have flight speedways etc, hunter can scale cliffs better, and maybe introduce ground speedways - kinda using the superspeed mechanic and he can jump far, maybe introduce races, make it more dynamic with temporary boosts and shortcuts cos- hes a cheetah. i cant think of anything elora tbh, and bianca has levels that maybe ease the magic around her in the uncharted lands. there can be puzzle dungeons in the open world where youd have to team up with the gang and use each of the character's abilities to traverse and solve the puzzles. Spyro can crawl to tiny spaces or bianca using her magic to make herself a critter, accessing portal gates etc etc.
I’d love for the worlds to be bigger and interconnected like A Heroes tail, I feel like like the scale of the world’s were a great evolution to the original trilogy
I hope not considering many open world attempts are typically just dragged out worlds with nothing in between the starting point and the objective. But something like a refined version of A Hero's Tail approach, featuring fast travel could go a long way.
This is very true. I've never liked Crash so it's always bugged me that it gets more attention than Spyro. I get that it sells more but I always hoped we'd get a new Spyro before the Crash games that came.
While I was one of the people who really enjoyed Rumble, I do agree that Spyro 4 should have been released first. It would have been the logical next step.

That we are
I will be buying a ps5 just to play it
It's my favorite ever game series in this whole universe!!! Love spyro so much!!!
I think massive overworlds with traditional sized levels would be the sweet spot.
I agree. Huge hub world's, bigger, but not crazy big, levels
15:56 that’s what I hope for , it’s a huge marketing opportunity , it shouldn’t be wasted
This makes me feelings of old days " Project Falcon - Falcon Bob. Spyro 4, Let's GO ! 🤩💜💛🐉
THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER THANKS!!!
and I feel the same way!!!
Gosh, I hope not. Nothing against open world games in general, but Spyro really thrives on its unique and varied level design.
She's a fan favorite character so I could 100% see them bringing in a 'classic trilogy' version of her.
and of course Flame and Ember skins for the two
and Dark Spyro, of course.
I hope not, the classic format works perfectly. The open worlds we got on ps2 etc. didn't felt like spyro to me.
The last Spyro game that was an open world I believe was a hero's tail
Heroes tail was more akin to a 3D Metroid vania. One big map but it was still just mostly a bunch of connected paths.
I hope they take new mechanics that people liked from that game.
A Hero's Tail was like Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Especially the swamp level with the same exact mini game
I really hoping that we get to see Cynder in the game as well, and could be like the TLoS DoTD with flying and such. Not the combat tho, not again.
Yeah the combat system felt unnecessary and took away some of the fun. But the flying was genuinely fun for me.
So we may get Spyro 4: About darn time after all.
Spyro bianca is better title
The way I got so sad at “2025” thinking that was years in the future only to remember it is in-fact next year already 😅😂
You mean it isnt 2022 still?
An open world, bigger spyro would absolutely have me THROWING money at it.
I am not the biggest fan of open world games but for spyro I would give it a chance.
I’m crossing all my fingers and toes that Spyro 4 features a Dark Spyro story mechanic, something similar to the Symbiote suit in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2. That would be the coolest thing ever!
I just hope the story for Spyro 4 is good, i need a good story for this series.
Bianca playable and Solo game
That would be an intriguing idea and pretty awesome of a concept for Spyro 4. I'm also excited for what the game itself will look like.
"Blossoming Moments."
Him putting emphasis on that reminded my of how the Dark Crystals corrupted the environment in A Hero's Tail, but healed when you smashed them.
Just like how crash for made some small nods to Wrath of Cortex, I would not be surprised if Spyro for made references to Enter the Dragonfly or/and A Hero's tail, as well as others in the franchise.
Imo the thing that makes BOTW so fun is gliding which owes a lot of its DNA to Spyro
Small worlds are not going to cut it. The worlds have to be much much much bigger for the game to be successful.
He’s been talking about spyro 4 for nearly 4 years
That would be awesome!
I see what you are saying but it includes assuming alottttttttttt
@@remyrotten True. My speculations are practically assumptions, as I am not a game designer nor do I know what TFB are actually cooking up. I'm just afraid that if they do go the Open world route, it would be extremely easy to screw up and/or stagnate the series, as other companies have done in the past.
Maybe TFB COULD pull it off, but I'd honestly rather appreciate a more traditional Spyro game (ala the Insomniac Trilogy) over jumping into what is essentially the last evolution of an exploration focused game.
This is why I don’t play 3D Zelda games.
@@pederotterson4119 Isn't a 3D zelda game just a 2-D zelda game, but now you can reliably use the vertical axis in interesting ways?
That said, I would understand why some people don't like the actual open world Zelda games, like BotW or TotK...
How much open world are we talking.. like Jak & Dexter "open world"
They could make it an open world in a way like "A Hero's Tail" was open world - transition between levels masked with invisible loading screens, giving the illusion of open world.
I got a feeling Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto will team up. Only to be outclassed by a newer villain being the true final boss.
Oh well now I love this idea
big thing i want in spyro 4 is cynder returning!! i would love to see her again
That would be pretty sick to have a Spyro open world.
How much open world are we talking.. like Jak & Dexter "open world"
Bianca playable in the all maps
Nicholas Kole's Spyro design is peak. Any change will only make it worse.
I really liked Spyro's design in Crash on the Run. I'd love that model for new games tbh
rather than open world I would imagine more something like Sonic Frontiers or Mario Odyssey, different hubworlds that are very large in scale
I want portals 😠 ! 😆
And that Stewart Copeland makes the music of course
The look of spyro could be shiny scales and dark golden horns
And please no rustical kitschty wooden decorations and details in the game ( insomniac did not do that )only stones gems and crystals golden and silver decorations ( little bit oriental like in the original games ) ornamental details and skyboxes with beautiful colors like in the original game
Floating islands with waterfalls who are falling to the sky , flaoting castles , hilly landscapes ,
As a fan of both the original trilogy and the Legend trilogy, my biggest (however unlikely) dream would be to have both Stewart Copeland and Rebecca Kneubuhl (the main composers of the respective series) on board for the soundtrack and mood-setting of Spyro 4.
It would be a really good present to see the 4 of the 6 biggest Spyro characters (Sparx and Cynder being the other 2) being the "New playable Characters"
a night city on a huge bridge would make a cool level.
Open World Spyro sounds intersting.
"The Legend of Spyro: Breath of the Dragon😂
Could it be possible Rumble used Spyro’s Reignited model so as not to spoil the reveal of his new model for Spyro 4?
Perhaps they did
It would make since
Kena is gorgeous, a mix with okami influence would be amazing
Hold onto your horns
I could totally see them redesigning spyro's art style. Im pretty sure they want a visual distinction from the reignighted trilogy for both marketing and just to give it more of its own identity.
I love the idea of an open world Spyro
I think this would be a great idea imo as long as you still have traditional platformer levels included.
Spyro 4 can be anything it wants as long as it’s not a free to play cash grab with microtransactions I’ll get it because people need to remember how games used to come out, buy game get game and maybe some dlc story, that’s it nothing else
Love for them to make a Crash Bash remake too that game was the shit back in the day
I hope they do eventually
But enter the dragonfly needs one bad that game would have been good if it got finished fully buy was rushed
Honestly, I really hope not. It has been 26 years since Spyro 1 and 24 years since Spyro 3. I would love to have a traditional Spyro game just one more time before we go and try experimenting again.
Bianca playable
I think Spyro 4 should have Spyro embark into a romantic relationship with Hunter.
And toys for bob is also independent video game 🎮 company too.
Playable Elora is all well and good, but am I the only one who wants to see playable Bianca?
I'd like to see some interactions between Elora & Bianca. I don't think they ever met.
Bianca does deserve more attention.
Etd sucks
I hope it’s the same Spyro model and it would be nice for them to reignite Spyro enter the dragonfly
12:44 reminds me of "Baked on a buttery... uh... flavored crust."
No. Just NO. I DO NOT LIKE THIS IDEA. Spyro and his world portals are ICONIC, take them away, and it just WONT FEEL LIKE SPYRO ANYMORE.
☝🏻☝🏻
🤡😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@dragonfye1 I agree with you 1,000%
The Legend games didn't have world portals, and they still felt like Spyro.
Lol
Stop gate keeping let us explore without long loading screens
Make with spyro playable hunter Elora and Bianca. i thank would Mack a great 4 playable charters for a spyro 4 hands down and would stay in sprite to the original 3 games.
Spyro 4 is long overdue
100% agreed
they need to get the original music composer back if possible
It would be so cool if the skill point mechanic unlocked skins. Or maybe bonus skins otherwise unavailable.
I would like to see the dragons from Spyro 1 doig thing, What if Hunter faught with Todor, and Spyro had to break it up.
I swear you've done more videos talking about if a Spyro 4 will happen than I've changed my underwear!
So what else
additional playable chars; yes please.
Special segmets
Who else loved parts like the skating or the hover tanks in part 3. I just hope something like this comes back as well. Also the Sparx level, either the Top down shooter like part 3 or the ray shooter like part 5, thei were just so good. And of course the flight challenges. All these brings good diverity to the gameplay, therefore I hope they return in some form.
Skins and collectibles
Something that can be perfectly be combined.
Guys, A Hero's Tail was so fun. An open world Spyro would be amazing. And Hunter was playable in that game 🤔
Hey, spyro turns into a female cheetah, fox, and male tiger, and we're talking about themes as big as the Gameboy itself.
An open world Spyro huh? Could work!
I think Spyro 4 is going to be a zone based game with larger areas and I do think there probably gonna make Spyro older
The thumbnail looks like a Spyro Monopoly set.
I like this video it gave a lot of details.
I'd love another spyro game like A Heros Tail
Imagine a playable Ripto, gnasty or gulp and crusher 👀👀👀 how fun would that be???
I wanna see some old characters make a appearance like I really want ember & blaze from a hero’s tale and maybe the elders from a new beginning
They might not be on the Activision crunch anymore, but they're also not having to work on a bunch of side work for other devs either.
Love the bloopers
if it were me, my game inspiration would be the ps2 game harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban ... hear me out.
you would have 3-4 protagonists that have a similar skill set in an open world but each character can do their own thing. for example where ron in the ps2 game could see hidden walls, elora can for example.
you can freely swap characters in the open world and you can find portals helping people transporting you into a linear typical spyro level collecting more gems and whatver collectible that would further progress into the open world.
i can see spyro, hunter and elora being the main three and also maybe bianca each having their own schtick.
spyro can glide into unreachable areas, have flight speedways etc,
hunter can scale cliffs better, and maybe introduce ground speedways - kinda using the superspeed mechanic and he can jump far, maybe introduce races, make it more dynamic with temporary boosts and shortcuts cos- hes a cheetah.
i cant think of anything elora tbh, and bianca has levels that maybe ease the magic around her in the uncharted lands.
there can be puzzle dungeons in the open world where youd have to team up with the gang and use each of the character's abilities to traverse and solve the puzzles.
Spyro can crawl to tiny spaces or bianca using her magic to make herself a critter, accessing portal gates etc etc.
I’d love for the worlds to be bigger and interconnected like A Heroes tail, I feel like like the scale of the world’s were a great evolution to the original trilogy
Well, I'll be interested to see what he means by taking concepts from modern open world games.
I hope not considering many open world attempts are typically just dragged out worlds with nothing in between the starting point and the objective. But something like a refined version of A Hero's Tail approach, featuring fast travel could go a long way.
They should have made Spyro 4 in the first place rather than wasting their time making a terrible online crash game which died in less than 6 months
Yes thank you someone else is saying the truth
This is very true. I've never liked Crash so it's always bugged me that it gets more attention than Spyro. I get that it sells more but I always hoped we'd get a new Spyro before the Crash games that came.
While I was one of the people who really enjoyed Rumble, I do agree that Spyro 4 should have been released first. It would have been the logical next step.
Hope its faithful to trilogy. Home worlds and portals.
I can see the spyro 4 reveal trailer at TGA at the earliest. No release date
Would love a new Okami too or a update one too. would looks so cool specially a realistic Wolf than Cel shaded. plus spyro i want :)
