Small psa about the soothe on paralysis, is that by default paralysis doesn't start combat, but if you grab pressure point for the sooth, it will start combat.
I am a Brew main. I don't have much to say because I am in SHOCKED by the lack of Brew healing now. Brew healing used to be able to fill the health bar from 1% health. I feel that has been reduced by about 80%. 😭
@@luuxii that is a good tactic. More healing from more crits. My initial reaction was to pump verse to take less damage but I think I'll try grabbing a bunch of crit.
I find that making a macro to self cast vivify does the trick. It’s not expel harm that used to heal 50-80% but it heals 15-30 and when crit up towards 60% of my health.
Idk. I know it dosent mean much now but I was able to pretty much Solo the last boss of Heroic Ara Kara when my team died because no one got in a puddle early. Felt the healing nerfs a bit but was still able to keep my hp up. Will have to wait till M+ to really see
@@smoke7877 I am sure he is referring to the talent in the Monk tree that allows for one instant Vivify every 10 secs. I doubt he is trying to actually cast while tanking.
Thank you for this guide! i dont know if it was already mentioned but i really like it when you zoom in to show the talents, so i dont have to zoom in on my smartphone 👌🏼 keep up the good work ✌🏼
I've always been a Monk main but TWW is the first time I've played Tank as my main role, been having a blast with Brew. Love your content, especially because I also follow your FFXIV content as well.
Thanks for this. I am a hedge fund manager who used to love this game and doesn’t get much time to play. This guide was perfect to get me back up to speed to play with mates.
I've played a Monk (heals and DPS) since MOP but haven't tried tanking. After listening to your guide, I'll give it a try! One question: AMR doesn't show weapons for my Brewmaster Monk. Why?
To buy time in a close fight in pve or pvp: drop transcendence, run wherever, drop ring of peace behind whatever chases you, transend back, they cant get back to you for a few moments which can give you time to heal or escape
Wait for it. The gains from it work best when coupled with keg smash. The debuff wears off quick so just keep an eye on it and use it after a keg smash when needed to keep it going.
Hello, i'm leveling a brewmaster and i kinda made my own build (funny because it ressemble your current shado pan build), but i'm playing with press the advantage, is that bad?
So I just started a brewmaster and when I unlocked keg smash it said it was added to a different stance... When I look up stances for the monk I can't find anything nor in my spellbook. WHERE ARE THESE STANCES?!
Been brewmsster main for years, I died a little on the inside when they removed healing elixir :( But there is no doubt its the most fun class to me still, will prob never main anything else. It is a fantstic class.
What in general can be used to group the mobs together on Brewmaster? Coming from SK and DH it’s kinda confusing when the mobs are spread and I need to somehow get aggro on them. Thanks :)
Is there a recommended % of vers i should be going for? Im 23% crit, 10% vers, 14% mastery and 11% haste. Im just wearing the highest ilvl gear but feels super squishy. Just stay on the ilvl path and hope for more vers lol?
With the Sal'Salibim's Strength talent, does that affect how we use Breath of Fire? Do you want to open early with Breath of Fire before using Keg Smash to reset the CD for double usage?
No, Breath of fire deals a small amount of damage compared to keg smash so it's not worth opening up with BoF. If you do so, you will quickly lose aggro on mobs and that charging warrior with Avatar and Bladestorm at the ready will skyrocket on the threat meters and then blame you for not keeping mobs in check 🤣
You can spec into the ox statue and create a macro with provoke + a control key to target the statue. This gives an aoe provoke for a 10yard range 😃 Wowhead can help you create the macro on their Monk BM info site. Also, as you level up past 50-ish aggro becomes easier. Especially with the macro
Thisss i need the answer! You get the tiger palm buffs (adjusted). And all your auto attacks reduce your brew cds. If you use shado-pan, you do want to use your energy to trigger the flurry more often. Because you use more energy with tiger palm. Do you know why they say that its bad?
@@XaronethI don’t think it’s bad but weapons can be better, IF you use it right. I use press because it’s basically passive and I’d rather give up a couple percentage points of dps

Your EHP rely a lot on purifying properly and funneling your celestial brew, not sure if that's your issue but most times when I see brewmasters struggling with survivability is due to improper usage of purifying brew
As much as I love Brew, Blizzard didn't do enough to reduce button bloat. Removing a few abilities isn't enough. I don't like what they did to Brew. I like what was done to WW, but Brew is still over bloated, in my opinion.
Why does the video exist? Brewmaster is not viable anymore. BFA was the only expansion when it really shined when Sco switched also to it instead of his prot warrior. After BFA it was mediocre and now it’s just plain bad. Please man, make a video where you explain to Blizzard where it is bad and what should change. Would be a lot more helpful instead of trying to teach people to play a broken class. Thanks

This video, your addons video, and the timeline of released content video have been massively helpful for me as a returning player.
I have been waiting for this one. You're making the best content as always.

As a new BM tank, Loved this vid. Got you a subscriber
Just an FYI, according to the brew discord, the way the ox orbs work is that they spawn when you are staggering 100% of your health
It’s pre-stagger 100% of your health
TIL that fort brew cd can be reduced because it is a brew, I wasn’t aware of that. Thanks for your content ❤️
Great review and tips. Got me going just fine!
Excellent guide, cannot wait to learn BM monk with your assistance!
brews already kicked back to there beloved b-c tier spot. as always.
thv a loot fore the help you are giving =)
What's your thoughts on Pressing the advantage with Call to Arms to further reducing button bloat but still getting brew CDR?
Thank You so much for your great content.
When do you use SCK vs tigers palm? Bc doesn't the new set plus shadowpan talent make ur Tigers palm hit additional targets with decreased dmg past 5?

YEEEES MY BABY ALCOHOLIC
I was waiting for this!
Is the instant cast of Vivify not somthing you use often? Trying to get into BM.
Wait I can use tiger's lust to clear multiple traps? For instance the tenticles in grim batol last boss?

One question tough: Do you always use breath of fire when available or do you wait for debuff on the mobs to expire first?
Wait for it. The gains from it work best when coupled with keg smash. The debuff wears off quick so just keep an eye on it and use it after a keg smash when needed to keep it going.
You want to maintain the charred passions buff every 8 seconds from bof

Ran both hero variants and harmony feels slightly less tanky but also doing a lot more damage over shado pan.
Should be the opposite.
@@kevinc8955 you take more base damage as harmony but it's a lot easier to heal it back as you're encouraged to spam shield more.

Does the racial matter?
i like monk tank but i cant heal myself up to full in many situations.... and then DK comes doing solo M+
This guide seems to under-prioritize blackout kick compared to other guidance out there (wowhead, icy veins, and monk discord).
Do you actually see Ox stance charges get used up often? Just feels super rare to have a thing hit you for 60%+ health
It's 60% of current health, so it works better at lower hp. If you talent into the capstone that reduces it to 40%, it can be a lifesaver.
