Typically I just click nameplates - but the most important way is to use a focus interrupt macro, so you never lose sight of the impt mob you need to kick
Another option... Have decently sized nameplates with plater with a decent profile that highlights important casts and use @cursor macros for interrupts. - a new, average tank 😊 Bonus.... Tab tgt actually priorities mobs that are casting. Don't believe me? Try it.

DH is the most fun tank to play. I love the demon form, sigils and mobility. Now with the Fel-Scarred hero talents it's even more fun. I love the class fantasy of being a strong demon that can take a beating.
I played Fell-Scarred until this video and i tryed Aldrachi Reaver. Its much different than the other build and somehow I have problems with getting aggro. Not all the time but specially when mobs are spawning during fight. Boss 2 of Necrotic Wake for example - are there any Tips with Aldrachi Reaver? Since Spiritbomb is missing. Keep the good work up btw! :)
Cool video, but @29:55 he mentions that VR removes roots, this is false as the tooltip states it removes snares. vDH has no way to clear roots or most incoming cc
@Quazii, at the end of the video, you mentioned that you ignore mastery because you only get the benefit while Demon Spikes are active. That's not true though, as you get a hefty % of your agility as armor all the time + some additional attack power, with the armor benefit being *doubled* during Demon Spikes. Was this a recent change to DH? I only recently began playing it.
It's a fair percentage of your armor but unfortunately it still doesn't amount to much. Try casting Sigil of Flame while having having Fel-Scarred and Student of Suffering (increases mastery by a significant amount after casting Sigil of Flame). It increased my damage output by 10% but only increased my physical damage mitigation from around 37% to around 40%. This comes down to roughly 5% physical damage reduction and 10% if Demon Spikes is up. Versatility is just flat-out better because it provides around the same damage amp and damage mitigation but also works against magic damage.

Havoc get a talent that turns all types of damage DH do into Chaos damage which benefits mastery better. - Crit more important for Vengeance for heal effectiveness and then haste just allows you to leech more often I suppose. I'm not a master, but that's just what I've gathered from maining Havoc and Alt Maining Vengeance. But like he said, Mastery for Vengeance really only benefits spikes as it just doubles it's effectiveness. Hopefully that makes some sense I confuse myself sometimes. = D
@iSCREAMery appreciate the reply. With the new ring also having the mastery boost I’m curious as well if there are better ways to set our selves up. I don’t sim so I dont have any real data to back up claims outside of feel and meters - last night with a few low keys as I have completely skipped m+ until the last two weeks I tried the Stam/dmg gem and it felt fine compared to the stat buff gems. I’m also only 617 but if I could see a huge improvement running the mastery I would. I don’t have BIS gear either. I’d just call it as close as possible given my drops

A question that I have is about the beginning of the pull. So you build right away 5 sould and use spirit bomb or you start the pull with some soul cleaves to build frailty and after start to spirit bomb? The soul cleave / spirit bomb prio is what I struggle now D:
Best way to think about prio for that is do soul cleave at low stacks and pop spirit bomb when you have high stacks I use a weak aura that highlights when I have 4 souls or higher so I know when to spirit bomb
I've waited for this one since you started covering all tank specs in TWW. Thank you for the content, it's fantastic, easily digestible and a great point to start. I'm new to tanking and am wondering, after watching the video, what would you recommend regarding the hero talent to focus on to start off as veng? I aim to build myself up and go through m+ up to timing +10s for the vault, that's my goal for this season. Throughout the video, you recommend Fel-scarred for lower keys but that's because it favors damage and that content is 'comfy'. However, for new tanks, we struggle even in lower keys. Would going Aldrachi be a good idea then, or do you think that's leaving too much damage on the table and being overly defensive for those levels of keys?
Mastery is not bad, it’s just the least preferred. It gives so little defense compared to crit, haste, and vers. Also it provides the least amount of dps. But again it’s not bad. It’s like comparing 100%>97%
@@onkekI’m doing 1+ mil consistently with mastery stacked cus im a havoc main but tanking keys are easy. You are so much less squishier and you stil do damage. Not having mastery is a myth vengeance is squishy in more scenarios then others
Can someone explain me how, in the core rotation, Spirit Bomb fits in when Soul Cleave takes higher priority and it does consume souls i never will reach 4+ souls.
You basically press Fracture twice, that'll give you 4 souls. Things like Immolation Aura (when talented into Fallout) and Sigil of Misery will also give you a burst of souls if used in AoE. Finally, while in Meta Fracture provides 3 souls instead of 2. Having said that, Spirit Bomb is used almost exclusively in AoE where you kinda ignore fury and your souls are your primary resource. In single target it's only used to proc Demonsurges or when you have a sudden burst of souls, otherwise you use Soul Cleave because it deals higher damage with Focused Cleave + Soulcrush.
After having played DH during Shadowlands and DF, today I'm going to reroll to druid for the following reasons: The DH opener is too weak, to the point where it's better for me to ask other tanks to start bosses. In Mythics, if a random person suddenly pulls something and you don't have fury for Fel Devastation, you have to use your strongest defensive cooldown to avoid being one-shotted. And the last reason, which made me realize I'm not wrong, is that Metamorphosis is our strongest defensive/offensive cooldown as a "fel-scarred," and it feels terrible to have a big pack and think, "I'll use Meta to deal a lot of damage and have fun, but in the next pulls I'll be in constant danger."
fel devastation has cooldown of 40 seconds, with perks its reduced to around 25-30 sekund. VHD has a big CDs survive, with pulling 4-5+ groups on full cds ur HP is basicly at full most the time. Additional, perks on video most of them is average not best picks. Painfinder (?) is must have on VDH and he didnt pick it... soul monger also doing a bit of "healing" is top 2 or 3 in details, and most important, actually VDH playbase is around sigils and parry. U can hit around 50 % parry on VDH most of the time and with full CDS it can hit 80/90 %. Basic opening on VDH is sigil at mobs -> spikes at start -> aura -> bomb -> second sigil, and u have around 30 % dmg reduction from shattered orbs and additional around 30-40 % parry. Its pretty nice and HP is intact. And remember to VDH NEED a lot of versa and haste to complete full rotation, add some good trinkets and u can easily tank most of the keys.
It's definitely harder but it works and seems to be keeping up with the top tanks. I'm also thinking of druid for tank but Veng does get in a rhythm that feels good, except for like 10% of the time where you want to save defensive for next pull.

For chains and last resort you have to give up things like cycle of binding, soul monger, point of pain bringer, calcified spikes, soul furnace, focused cleave, etc. You can make it work and learning the routine is paramount. Lots of high end players are taking things like Pitch Black, Demon Muzzle, and The Hunt which I found interesting, so they're skipping the left bottom nodes after internal struggle ( no erratic or collective). Been reading about it all day and I'm a month late but Goodluck, hope you're ahead of me by now If you have the group and they don't need your dps as much

Yeah, it is better to get used to mechanics and hard pulls, especially if you are playing with randoms.

Depending on the pull you should be able to generate enough souls to just pop a spirit bomb off the pull

It just doesn't scale as well vs other stuff
Because demon spikes isn't 100% uptime, but crit haste vers do have 100% uptime. So I'd imagine its less valuable because it isn't in effect 100%

You could always add your own text into the weakaura to have it show up in or around the icon.

Vengeful retreat removes snares (slows) but not roots.

When was this M+ key done??? That pally is like 100-150k lower than he could be on DPS
