As someone who didn't start using the Glaive until World... I feel like I'm missing some context.

Wow xD out of curiosity, what monster were you both hunting that completely obliterated your friend? In low rank, nonetheless? Cuz I only had problems with gore magala in low rank when I first ever played, got over it and now hunt that b*tch in g rank
@@OneToxicPixel i think an Anjanath, Tobi Kadachi or encountering a monster like Diablos or Rathalos in a normal quest, thats my theory

My friend is a walking bomb with his gunlance. Yet he insists on carrying barrel bomb+s.
He did tell me he and 3 other hunters sleep bombed kushala and the blast both knocked him off the ledge AND kill kush. Best part about him? He buffs himself for every damn hunt. He is now Brad, Lord of the Boom.
Maybe someday in MHW you all shall encounter Brad, Lord of the Boom and spam that title in his chat logs. Just look for a player under the username of BastionElwards playing as the character Brad. That is the Lord of the Boom himself.

Why french are même because "je suis monté" is not funky

Its because when the Insect Glaive came out in MH4 people loved it cause it was over-powered and allowed you to mount monsters easily. It became a meme because of all the players who did that, and then their auto shout-out said "je suis monté" because they mounted the monster. 1:30 That dude was unable to kill a Great Jaggi, basically your tutorial monster, 5 times in a row and blames the game? Srsly? I understand that it can be a bit tough to get into the game, but the game features so many tutorials on everything in your hunter notes and has dedicated tutorial quests that really cover anything you need to know. I cannot quite comprehend what he did for almost 10 hours, unable to hunt the Great Jaggi.
If someone really has that much difficulty with the mighty Great Jaggi, then Monster Hunter probably isn't the game for them. There's a fundamental incompatibility between the series and such an intense level of incompetence. And I'm saying that as a very welcoming, newcomer friendly veteran
Must be the same person who couldn’t get past the cup head tutorial
Honestly if you can't beat a Great Jaggi you shouldn't play video games that take an ounce of skill

Crimson Fatalis IG
310 Raw, 15% Affinity, 55 Bomb damage and 3 slots for gems.
(The only bad thing is you need Sharpness +2 to reach a good amount of purple sharpness)
Use this weapon with the Jhoceana set
this entire set gives you Sharpness+2, Razor Sharp and 7 Expert points
This set only works with Tenderizer 6 with 3 slots talisman and better ones (but Tenderizer 6 is what we need in this set)
With all of this we have 17 slots for gems
Now the gems!
Weapon: OOO Critical Up jwl 3
Helmet:OOO Critical Up jwl 3
Chest: O Critical Up jwl 1
Arms: OOO Expert jwl 2
Weist: O Critical Up Jwl 1
Legs: OOO Expert jwl 3
Talisman: OOO Tenderizer jwl 3
With all of this you have
Sharpness +2
Critical Eye +2
Razor Sharp
Tenderizer
Critical Up
With all of this you have a very good weapon with good raw, a lot bomb damage and 35% affinity (85% if we have Tenderizer and we hit in a weak spot on the monster)
I was lucky with the talisman so i have Bomb Boost in this set ;P (66 boomb damage lul)
Now if we add food skills, Powercharm and Powertalon we reach 352 raw damage (if we add Megademon Drug and Might seed you got even more in quest)
Now think about it
352 raw damage
With 55 Bomb damage (66 with Bomb Boost)
And 35% affinity (85% hitting weak spots) boosted by Critcal Up...
Oh wait! I forgot to say the best kinsect in the game (the balanced type one) gives you 15% affinity with the white/red buff or triple buff! So you reach 50% affinity with the weapon and always crit if you hit the weak spot of the monster
(This kinsect boost your allies in the hunt too)
The damage
The mounting (even with the huge nerf)
The boost you give to all of your allies

Call me crazy, but I get the feeling Scott might not like the insect glaive.
I have no idea how good it is because the last MH I played was 4, when it was introduced and was the only weapon that could jump without helpful terrain. Really, really overpowered in that one.
Bcuz he is a noob with it
I swear when rise comes out people will say "if you wanna get into monster hunter play rise" like how people said play world if you're a newbie since when gen came out people said "newbs go play gen"
I honestly feel the damage numbers in World do so much for the slower weapons in the game. As you said it does feel nice to whack on a monster with a bigger beefier weapon. But at the same time it was hard to know if I was doing similar damage with a charge blade that I was getting out of a long sword or dual blades. That might sound stupid, but I really do feel like the seeing the damage numbers helped ALOT. If you didn’t like the addition of damage numbers then it’s a extremely easy to go into the options menu and turn them off.
IG Ariel style is arguably the most moble combo in the game. You can jump off certain attacks leaving you unharmed and as well use your vault to disengage and reposition yourself. Not to mention that the IG's finishing moves with R/W essence when used right can reposition you as well since they lunge you forward. You can also use the lunge attack then dodge to kite the monster keeping at a safe distance and eventually tripping it, to go into the bread and butter combo, all while doing damage.
There's alot more but, if all your doing is just vaulting to mount the monster and nothing else with the IG then your doing it wrong.
Is...Is that a IG Player that actually knows what they are doing? Have I ascended past Humanity and founf myself in the realm of the Gods? Is this possible?
Pixel yes, you have found your god. Now go, leave with the knowledge he has passed down upon you. Use the baguette for it's true purpose!
While Adept Dual Blades has the most invincibility period in an adept dodge, avoiding just about any combo that other weapons could not do.
And yes, I am one of those users. I have an elemental crit set for swift kills, and a pure crit set just for fun, paired with Baki Dual Blades to feel like I am mauling with my bare hands.
Adept Dual Blades and Aerial Insect Glaive are my two main weapons in MHGU, and *DAMN* are they satisfying. Whether it's flying across the map and dropping the infinite combo after a mount or Adepting through everything and anything while DECIMATING a monster's health with Wolf's Maw, it all just feels so good and smooth.
...is it bad i enjoy getting red buffs and spamming the flippy attack in the air on whatever i can
As much as IG players may seem like a meme, I’d say it isn’t a trash weapon, so much as people who play it don’t always realize that aerial attacks are NOT what you should be spamming. IG has an infinite combo on the ground with red extract, as well as some other moves that deal good damage, and are rather focused, making it tougher to trip teammates. Plus, Valor/Brave IG basically spends all of its time on the ground, since the buffs the style gives mostly apply to your grounded attacks, while still letting you vault to get mounts or reach extracts in hard to reach places.
So yeah, IG isn’t so much the problem, it’s the people that don’t know how to play it.
and some people forget that the kinsect has crazy damage and is an excelent ranged weapon, heck some people don't even know it has a pheromone gun to mark monster
Randomness 10150 I would argue that pre-world IG is actually one of the harder weapons to use in the game period, at least in the early game. Unlike any other weapon that can start doing damage out of the box, IG requires red extract buff just to work properly. Getting red extract especially with the base lv 1 speed bug and even the lv 10 speed bug is way harder than the near instant speeds you can get extracts from world’s pseudocath. Then, managing buff durations and double/triple buff is also difficult when playing solo. People will argue that extract hunter helps, but until lv 3 extract hunter the triple buff it gives still has a low time duration. Plus using extract hunter means you give up the aerial slam + swarm combo in non-aerial style. Sure IG was overused and mounting was OP in 4U (srsly why KO when you could just mount lol), but it by no means is broken, easy, or stupid in Gen. It’s a weapon that requires good prediction of monster movement to get buffs, good buff management so that triple/double up doesn’t end after you successfully mount, and constant aggro if using extract hunter to maintain triple up.
Anyone playing the weapon seriously isn’t trying to meme.
@@RenegadeKn1ght As a IG user... I can't fully agree. Yes level 1 Bug is slow. But even getting it to 5 in speed (that's 2 levels of investing in speed) will make it enough to hunt easily. Upkeep isn't much of an issue as you get used to it since most of the time you will be concerned with RW double up.
Jaquan you make a good point but I’ll still argue it’s harder to use the glaive in Gen than both 4U and World, at least for getting extracts. In 4U, effect extender bug was so broken that you could get triple up and not worry about buffs for a good amount of time. Gen forces you to be more conscious about upkeep time as effect extender’s duration was slashed to 50% length, and if using the speed bug, you don’t get the benefit of earplugs from triple up or extra armor from yellow buff. Upkeep may not be difficult once you get more used to glaive, but it’s still more difficult to maintain than in 4U. In world, effect extender bugs are no longer a thing, but speed bugs literally move so fast (and now fly vertically up and down where you aim your crosshair) that getting extracts is completely a non-issue. Effect extender also returns as a skill, making the problem even more minimal. I think upkeep management is most prevalent in Gen.
See thats it
It's not awful but too many new players using it for the first time fall into the "I can jump without a ledge and mount alot" trap instead of actually maximizing damage
Mate, aerial hammer is a great combo which helps get the hammer to where it needs to be and also deal fast heavy hits without being a glass cannon.
And now we have Rise as the best looking handheld MH game.

4:08 On the topic of skills, dont forget that while you can just mix and match skills neolithically easy in World, you need to hit a certain number of points in Gen U to even have the basic version of the skill active in your armor
I was never into monster Hunter until I watched this vid like 4 months ago and gotta say I love it
Stop cyber bulling me the insect glaive is great you need an iq of atleast 69 million to hit the ariel attack
DARK _PG ikr ig mains don’t get as much respect we distract the monsters so long swords do their 60-80 damage “combos”
Yea
We can also do our own combos. Did you know you can hunt the monster and do really well without leaving the ground? What mind blowing thought
@@donnieboi5169, yeah, It's amazing how much more dps is acheived on the ground rather than spamming R+B to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Why don't we, IG mains (who doesn't suck mind you) share our favourite combos?
NO! Anything, but not there double khezu combo.
I can still remember those screams.
You seem to forget double apex rajang. Or double red khezu my friend
Hunters worst nightmare
*Has flashbacks of one eating while hanging upside down from the ceiling and shutters*
You dont know the feeling of watching your player being pinned by it which is being swallowed by whole.
3:43 A bow “tactically retreating?” Sounds about right.
You honestly killed me with the IG joke at the end. And triggered a lot of IG users apparently.
horse mango phillips III well it's not a BAD weapon..
It's a good weapon when you are skilled... But remember, the French suck at fighting.
@@AmaryInkawult i wish i could say it was good but its really not im a horn main who has always been hopeful when it comes to the glaive but im always disapointed and i was a former glaive main who put months of practice into it
solsotice maybe actually stay on the ground for longer than a second and you’d be surprised at the damage the IG can do. Oh, and RED extract.
@@inugami3529 then you may as well just use dual blades
as i said i was a former glaive main and regardless on how its played it does nothing that other weapons cant do already since its just a bad iteration of the dual blades due to the red extract just being a less effective demon mode that doesnt become more potent
@@AmaryInkawult hey we don't all suck at fighting
true lot of french player are toxic though - -;
I like using the flying baguette, but the hunting horn is my absolute favourite weapon ever.
Also I'm really glad I never experienced the je suis montes.
welcome to my almighty allegiance of the 5 hunting horn mains the the world... society shall be brought down by the power of bad music.
One of us... one of us...
Sorry, Scott falco doesn’t like HH. That means it sucks.
Bonjour
I really don't know why but MHW just never grabbed me, maybe it was the weapon variaty being so boring, or the monsters also feeling just dull, but MHGenU is a game i'll probably put another 500 hours into, probably even more now, it's so fucking fun and while the graphics look like a bad ps3 game, i still just prefer it over MHWs mostly drab colour pallet.
I agree wholeheartedly. MHW was fun, but lacked variety. The 90+ monsters in GenU is a good hook for me, and the challenge of creating mixed armor sets in certain ways to get the skills you want is much more attractive to me as a player rather than "Hey slap these together and you're good to go." I'll always appreciate both, but I hope Capcom doesn't focus just on the open world series and has two separate MH series; the flashy, high speed arts games and the open world realistic games.
I think it stems from the fact that MHGU is an ultimate version. From a objective viewpoint, MHGU is better on several fronts compared to MHW (including mobility). However, I feel like I can put down MHW after a play session compared to the fully loaded, grindfest that is MHGU. Seems like something that would take a few months off my life to "git gud" and enjoy. While I enjoy variety, I feel like I would be apart the infamous few that would sell the game after a few weeks due to the amount stuff to work with. Then again, this is coming from a guy that just puts on a Spotify playlist and usually hunts alone (I do call for help for missions that are tough or long but I rarely get help on MHW unless I play at night when it's midday in Japan). Best to take this comment with a grain of salt if need be. =Y
@@Sashrunner i dont remember playing too much being a bad game model, just saying:p
Lol it was the opposite for me genU didn't felt like a mh at all
But I agree world felt boring with your weapons being the same weapons as before with a different scales but the monster for me felt more natural no more beyblade spin tail attacks for example and the maps are amazing and alive
The monster are really cool but they are not enough monsters to kept you look like older games
so, when me was still but a wee lad.
i would often play bosses in games over and over again, cuz i often just loved the 1 on 1 fights.
so imagine how happy i am with finding out about monster hunter.
i might be 10 to 15 years late but im still really happy i found out about it
I really like how the Plesioth at the beginning hip checks the guy.
that title looks like a joke...
MONSTER HUNTER: Generations: Ultimate: Revengeance: Absolution.
It's a fault of shitty localization. The proper name, the one the monhun fans have been screaming at capcom to release in the west, is XX, or "Double Cross" to represent the celebration of monsters from a*Cross* different games coming together. Just call it MHXX.
I dont mind "Generations Ultimate". While the name itself is over-the-top and stupid it fits the game imo. Monster Hunter is an over-the-top and wacky game and to have a name as bold and brash as the weapons fits to me. Not to mention Cross kinda has the same fit as Generations, both referring to the culmination of multiple enemies from the series' long history. If it wasn't Ultimate when they added G Rank then it was ULTIMATE when they made Valstrak. Lmao. 👍🏽
3:56 You stopped yourself from laughing at what you just said 😂😂🙏🏼
The where should I attack joke got me. Lol nice job making me spit out my drink lol
Me as a new comer to MH in general I was already thinking OK I know this game will beat my arse, I know it has a lot of grinding, u know all these things, bit I didn't know how long it would take to get one piece of new gear and how many little side quest and people I had to talk to that took forever to speak, this game is fun, but that early game.
It truly is a hassle. It was what made me stop playing either 3 ultimate or generations for 3 months after buying them, but then I came back realizing that I stopped as soon as the game started to speed up.
Me and a friend of mine have a little inside joke about how the first few hours of monster hunter is one of the worst games out there.
The Early Game of MOnster Hunter is the worst, no doubt, but it's worth it in the end.
World was the easiest early game but it's endgame/lategame was noticeably lacking until the free DLCs came out.
Monster Hunter world had a much worse early grind between not being able to play with friends because "you have to the cut scenes", even though in 4u you could watch cutscences in multiplayer no problem
And there is some HR grind in between progressing the assigned quest for some reason where as once you break the HR cap in MHGU you can do basically whatever quest/quest line you want
This is the worst grinds of gathering quest of all mh games so be prepared for tons of repeated unnecessary quest they abused the gathering quest here xD but at least the farming is a little bit faster than older games
I'm guessing the reason he hates Glaive users is because he gets that one fucko that just spams the jump and doesn't use the complete Combo that a glaive should be using. Just a Theory a SALT THEORY THANKS FOR READING.
That plesioth hipcheck at the beginning is bringing back PTSD
All I ever needed in generations was DS + Wolf's maw + aerial style and I swept through monsters like a glavenus through honey butter
"Teach that line of code a lesson." xD omg how do you understand my humor so much, too good.
0:12 let’s see here...
Starting strong with a Plesioth hipcheck
Super saiyan Rajang curb stomping (or punching)
*KONCHU*
Screaming flesh sacks
The best monster with a hearty zap
And an explosion for good measure.
Just about sums up my experience with monster hunter, only missing wild boars, skeletal laser beam cuddlefish and psycho mantis
Bird Up
Also Khezu's extendable neck...
@@AmaryInkawult I like calling Kkezu, Stretchy Pickle.
The Glaive is designed to work like the hunting horn but actually usable. It is for status effects.
From what I'm noticing there are 3 types of IG's.
The Baguettes who just vault, trip, and cart.
The "Sith Lords" who never vault and always trip, but deal the dps.
And the people who don't necessarily *main* the IG, and thus: deal the dps, cut the tails, topple the monster via mounting, and rarely trip teammates.
Monster Hunter
My friend : you don't actually hunt them
Me : (Hunt and killed a monster)
My friend : but seriously you use the most powerful weapon to beat that monster
Me : (killed gravios with sword and shield)
My friend : why do you have to kill them over and over again? Can't you just hunt them once?
Me : Shut your ass up and play!
My friend, sword and shield is the most powerful weapon.
OMG I know exactly how you feel I got that alot too and Im like "you do know this is the games....... GAMEPLAY right? so why are you bitching it says MONSTER HUNTER so lets hunt these monsters!"
@@Hammybread Lol yes that's true
I hunt monsters. Because of the way I play, I read their moves, and proceed to smack them. I normally try and capture them so long as they are in their nests.
Did you just diss the alpha and omega weapon that puts a smile on my face?
Good job explaining how this game is different from World and how the basics work!
Newbies are still gonna screw up though lol.
Theyre gonna be a while learning how armor skills work and that negative skills are a thing xD
And they're gonna take a century to figure out how Charm tables work
The first 25 seconds of this video are everything I didn't know I needed
I got this game for Christmas, rocking Alchemy -kitchen knives- Dual Blades and I love it
I should be sleeping right now but I think watching scott falco is a healthy alternative
*Plus I lov all the little sig and tessa animations in between clips*
bitch its 10 am wtf u mean you should go to sleep (unless its like 8 pm in ur time zone)
@@ragglerock2682 what if he never went to sleep
These are always amazing
Adept is me as DB doesn’t have a block so I thought “Last second Dodge? yes please”
Aerial DB barely ever gets hit... unless you're being stupid and jump into an attack
Lol I main insect glaive and great sword. And soon wanting to learn charge blade
I originally subbed for over watch content, but now your doing MH. *I can die happy*
Mike and Sully aren't even in it. 0/10.
PowahSlap Entertainmint You still tryna become Justin Y?
@@RongusCongus yes why
Those are monsters that I don't want to hunt, though, so I'm happy for their absence. :)
I love how in the opening, konchus jump into the dogpile immediately.
2 years and it's still a good video
I need to get these games. They're the only games that understand my love for showing strength with a single, giant WHAP!
Gr8 sword 4 life
Gr8 m8 I r8 8/8
Then you would love the Attack+CritUp+Tenderizer mixed combo on a Greatsword.
Everytime the "only the hammer should get head priority" argument comes up I always respond with "y'all share the head by attacking from different sides of the head". It ain't that hard to share a head unless you get tunnel vision.
My arguments mostly "knockout gets the head until the tails sliced, then share"
@@ScottFalco unless someone needs mats from that tail like flails then people should go for head or legs(For tripping the monster) to get their deeps off.
Actually for a lot of monsters, cutting off the tail cripples abilities they have, and make them easier to knock over.
Take Rathian for example, hate how she constantly does that flipping attack and causes you to constantly fall back to heal in hopes of not dying to poison? You cut the tail off and that attack goes from menacing to just downright adorable.
+ScottFalco good point but you should have clarified ( also Longsword should go where nobody else is cause the main point is dps it’s ok for cutting tails but switch axe and greatsword are better) I soloed gen with hammer no carts
+Thespartzter only in world a better example of part break cripple would be black gravios’s back
So you play all mh series, impressive, but can you cook a well done steak perfectly?
The moment the bone changes from white it's cooked if it goes from white to black you've burnt it and try again. Worked for me from MHFU to MHW.
Best weapon is Valor Charge Blade. It's like regular Charge Blade except I can scoot around real fast and spam axe attacks more.
Same but with Switch Axe in Sword mode
I have a slight suspicion that ya don't really like the IG
