    I've seen so many crazy comments claiming WiFi is somehow harmful, so this video goes pretty deep into why that is absolutely WRONG. At the end of this explanation it should be pretty obvious that WiFi is absolutely not harmful, and simply cannot be. And how even the average lightbulb is more "dangerous" than any router antenna. The term "radiation" is thrown around a lot to sound scary, but it's just rhetoric to sound deceitful.

      *I think* if it messes with your wifi it's not shielded right. Microwave ovens are supposed to keep 100% of the "powerful" (more like "scary sounding") 1000W 2.4GHz radiation contained INSIDE the device. (I'm not a radiation scientist though. Maybe it's 99.9% shielded and so 0.01% is enough to somewhat mess up your wifi?) I did google it and found a positive result:
      "In theory, a properly shielded microwave shouldn't leak any radiation, but the reality is that they leak quite a bit, resulting in electromagnetic, or radio-frequency (RF), interference. "

    • @teero1292
      @teero1292 6 лет назад

      3ICE --Now a good question would be where the hell do you find a "good" nuker that is properly shielded? Don't believe even Consumer Reports tests the amount of shielding in the units, who would? Nobody.

      Doctors and scientists say microwave strikes may have caused sonic delusions and very real brain damage among embassy staff and family members. Look up the "Moscow Signal" . Russians beamed microwave "wifi" at A US embassy in Moscow. A ton of Employees working there ended up with all types of cancers.
      There is more than enough peer reviewd research out there to prove WIFI is not safe for prolonged periods of time. Like we all are exposed to on a continual basis. Causes brain fog, fatigue, mood swings, learning disabilities, loss of motivation, neurological effects, and cancers. Has been studied since the Nazis.
      C'mon people do just 5 minutes of genuine research on this topic. It affects us all! Type in "wifi health effects ncbi" in google. Studies from the government themselves admit that :
      "Repeated Wi-Fi studies show that Wi-Fi causes oxidative stress, sperm/testicular damage, neuropsychiatric effects including EEG changes, apoptosis, cellular DNA damage, endocrine changes, and calcium overload. Each of these effects are also caused by exposures to other microwave frequency EMFs, with each such effect being documented in from 10 to 16 reviews. "

    Well, call me a cynic if you like but I don't trust any wireless technology - why so? Within 9 months of me deciding to go from the old cable connection and purchasing a wi-fi box for my TV and PC, (for increased speed and what have you) a lump appeared on my neck and when I went to get it checked out by my GP I was referred to a specialist and diagnosed with throat cancer. Previously I was a non-smoker, non-drinker, regularly exercised, cycled, walked, etc and ate healthily.
    Unfortunately, due to the small size of our house, I was sitting with the wif fi box right near me.
    I have since undergone chemo and radiotherapy and after going through hell have finally been given the all-clear.... but I'm not the man I once was... all those treatments take something out of you.
    So, no, I wouldn't recommend any of this... it's just not worth the ultimate price any of us may end up paying.

    great video there is a lot of great information here. However there are a few things i want to mention. First, the GHz to THz analogy is flawed. yes, a light bulb emits more radiation per unit of time than a WiFi router but the hazard of WiFi comes not from the 'brute force' (wattage) but from the penetrating power of the signal. as you mentioned water resonates at 2.4 GHz and since we are 70% water that can be a problem in the real world. The thought experiment that was setup was one single antenna router in a house with no neighbors. However, we live in the real world and most people live in apartments/condos with many neighbors that have multi antenna routers. (look up MIMO) a trick many WiFi device manufactures use to skirt the FCC wattage regulations is they only measure the output power at a un specified distance from the antennathe antenna. Eg, router is rated to broadcast at 100mw of power @ 10ft but, in reality broadcasts 400mw @ 10Ft because of having 4 antennas. The 802.11 A/B/G networks usually are rated at 100-200mw, 802.11 N usually broadcasts at 150 to 250 mw and 802.11AC broadcasts at up to 1000 mw (1 watt). Since manufactures are motivated by money and happy customers = higher profits they will sometimes rate a routers power at 5,10,15, or even 20ft and and call the level of transmitted radiation they measure the maximum rated power of the router. this is called the effective radiated power (wattage) aka ERP, this is not a true measure of power. the true measure of power is the transmitter output power (TOP) which is measured at the location where the antenna connects to the transmitter. going in to the gory details of antenna theory requires a understanding of college physics and calc 2+3. and one more thing, when you mentioned about low level radiation being less harmful than higher doses is the time constant. how large is the dose * the period of exposure. the reason we think small doses are not harmful is because our bodies are able to repair the damage being done before there is a issue. in parting keep this in mind, exposure at 100mw per hr for 100hr (1 week) is the same as being exposed to 10 watts for 1hr.
    i say this because 99% of WiFi users leave the WiFi on 24/7/365 untill the router dies.
    I am CompTIA A+, Net+, and security+ certified. as well as being a general class certified HAM radio operator.

    The larger the wavelength the more biologically stable it is. The smaller the wavelength the more harmful it is. The shorter waves rip apart DNA materials and causes cell damage/mutation. The type of frequency of nukes, radon gas, etc. WiFi uses Radio Frequency waves, EMF. The level of EMF is very high and can harm biological growth. I recommend you look up the plant WiFi experiment. In the plants, you can clearly see deterioration in itself based on how close or far away it is from the EMF omission. (Cell towers, cell phones, WiFi routers)

    Hi ThioJoe. I liked your logic, but I think it is incomplete. I have a university degree in Computing & Electrical Engineering. I mention this purely so you might reflect, prior to dismissing my comments as uneducated, crackpot. While I think you covered the common uneducated fear associated with this technology, analyzing the Man - Machine interface is often more complex than looking at one or two dimensions.
    Personally I get headaches when using Cordless Phones that transmit at 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz. I'm OK if the phone is only 900MHz.
    Same with mobile (cell) phones. The effect is worst when inside cars & lifts (I assume this is due to a partial Faraday cage). The headache starts 2 to 5 mins after I start using them & stops ~5 - 10 mins later. Wifi Routers do not affect me, likely they are lower wattage & further away from me.
    I realise that your talk is focused on WiFi, however your logic is applicable to phone transmission as well. So you might be interested.
    The two dimensions you might like to consider are distance & harmonics.
    No doubt you are aware that the signal strength is inversely proportional to distance squared. The Phones only impact me if they are broadcasting less than 3 feet from my head.
    As energy increases with frequency, your logic that higher frequency can "do more damage" is well proven. However frequency is only one dimension that needs to be examined when considering impact on biology. Harmonics are another. You only need to look at antenna design to see that the energy absorbed (standing waves) are much greater when the size of an item is optimized for the frequency of the transmission. Similarly certain molecules (ie: water) will respond to specific frequencies, while remaining comparatively unaffected by frequencies above & below it. Research shows that phone use can raise the temperature of your brain slightly. Perhaps some people are sensitive to this. Maybe this changes the blood circulation in the scalp. or perhaps influences the nerves to cause scalp muscles to contract. Who knows.
    I have no idea why millions of people use mobile phones without issue, yet a tiny percent of the population are extremely sensitive to RF. Yet they do exist. No doubt one day we will understand the reason.
    As a precedent, Consider how our opinion changed when doctors discovered Mammalian meat allergy.
    Everyone believed that millions of people eat meat. So only wack jobs claim to get sick eating meat. Especially if they've been OK eating it all their life.
    But some people "suddenly" became allergic to meat. It took a dedicated doctor to discover that a) their sickness was due to being allergic to meat. & b) The allergic response was due to being bitten a tick with specific protein markers in its saliva.
    Thus I'd encourage you to look for the edge cases. As any computer programmer will tell you, understanding "the unlikely exceptions" are often where the greatest insights occur.

    You sir are promoting the view of the industry, which fails to take into account non-thermal effects of electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Many researchers have been finding a myriad of negative effects on the human biology/physiology from low emitting frequencies well below industry safety standards. What many fail to understand is that our cells do not communicate for the most part via chemical reactions, fast communication is done through the use of specific frequencies. This is why in the literature you find certain frequencies have health benefits (e.g. can accelerate tissue repair). The question that scientists (not in the US because we are bought out by big industry) have started to answer is if the frequencies from wireless communication devices (cell phone towers, wifi routers, cell phones, etc.) cause harm to humans. The answer from NON-INDUSTRY sponsored studies is a resounding yes, they do cause many detrimental biological effects. You also left out that most wireless communication devices communicate via pulsed EMFs, which have been shown to carry more health risks compared to non-pulsed EMFs. For better information from actual SCIENTISTS I would recommend looking up Martin Pall, PhD, Martin Blank, PhD, Olle Johansson PhD. If you actually want to see what the research has to say go directly to the sources of information. Stop listening to this third party resource who clearly needs to integrate his knowledge of physics with how the human body functions.

      Can you link to any of these negative effects? Also, cells can't produce low frequencies, they literally do communicate via chemicals. The only way certain frequencies will benefit you is to maybe ease you to sleep. Also, can you please link to ANY of these studies rather than just saying "many scientists say this"? Also I think Martin Pall has been charged for quite a few things.

    • @mariam5585
      @mariam5585 4 года назад +1

      @@sethadkins546 I gave you the name of the scientists. If you wish to look at the harmful effects found you can simply go to Google Scholar or Pubmed and find the studies. I am not going to do your homework for you or engage in long arguments. This is not a place to write a dissertation. A good book with through citations is by Robert Becker PhD called "The Body Electric". His student, Andrew Morino PhD also has books and articles finding harmful effects. Thinking and knowing are two different things in regards to Dr. Pall. If you are going to disregard him please have solid evidence to share. His theories have been under scrutiny, but not his character. Please refer to the other scientists I listed if he is unsatisfactory. In any area of research, theories and ideas will fail. Yet, if you care to do your own investigation you will find harmful effects well below industry standards for many things, not just cell phones. I wrote my comment to pass along information, not to write an article thoroughly fleshing out all arguments/points of view. If you want that you will have to do it yourself. Best of luck. JMJ

    Its also important to note that "radiation" is a generic scientific term for any type of energy that radiates. Every form of energy can be said to radiate and this term should not be confused with nuclear radiation which is a very specific kind of energy and can be deadly. Radio waves and light waves are often referred to as radiation and there is nothing in common between that and nuclear radiation. But people who want to make sensationalistic claims will often ignore the difference. The misinformed will often accidentally or purposefully confuse the two just to have something scary to claim. The only similarity between nuclear radiation and the other forms of energy called radiation is that just like the cosmic background radiation, there is also a tiny background amount of nuclear radiation that we are all exposed to every day. It doesn't matter how close you live to a nuclear plant, its everywhere. If you have granite countertops, you likely have a higher dose of trace radiation than someone who does not since granite counterrtops are a known source of trace (low does) nuclear radiation.

    Not that I agree or disagree with your statement, but there are studies that have proven that there is some effect on the human brain within a spectrum of bandwidth. So even though you made it clear what your position is and I respect that, there is always going to be talk, discussion, study or argument on this topic. Though personally in my small personal office, I have both a wi-fi router that is fairly massive in terms of its coverage, far beyond what is needed for a small home in Taiwan to an almost reachable signal several floors below the 7th floor lol and I sit pretty much right next to it. If it is effecting me, than I am not really aware of it, but on the other hand, who knows. I also have my PC hardwired from the providers router, simply because I do not have a wi-fi option on my PC and I also get the full 100M access for my needs. I have wi-fi for my iMac, macbooks, phones and tablets when not being in the office.

Good book for my level of I.Q. (Neil's awesome). So it's been around forever minus 400,000 years.
