Yeah, I remember this. The guy borrowed the audio from my remastered music-only Daicon III video and mixed it with the unmodified (mono) original audio that had all the sound effects. I know because there were specific "watermarks", if you will, in my original edit. It's kind of sad when I compare modern animation to this. This short was made by amateur animators with a very tight budget, and this manages to pack twice the amount of animation as a modern 20 minute episode (without all the technology to make it easier.) I really wonder when we'll be able to enjoy animation of this capacity again.
It's... I'm not sure that "inspiring" is the right word. Such an example of pure devotion to the craft, produced by three people with only simplest of tools, should be inspiring, but I only feel sadness. There's something special about traditional animation... It's not even nostalgia, I was born in 2002, too late to see it in work. I should be glad that making animation is way easier now with digital, because it's still extremely demanding craft. Yet my heart aches knowing that traditional animation has no place in the modern world.
@@GLOWman812 I mean hand drawn and digital is vasically the same. Literally animators working on a single anime are using paper and pencil or drawing tablets on PCs
@@xadek821 not even close. It takes a lot more skill and experience to pull off animation stunts such as Akira when it's done in hand drawn. Funny. They took a stereo remaster of the music - much like the one I uploaded to RUclips a while back - and mixed in the original mono audio track. So you get the sound effects, though rather quieter than they originally were. The music was remastered somewhat sloppily, as it conflicts with the mono audio frequently. They should have used my audio. Incidentally, these are decent LD rips. It'd be interesting to go to town doing a proper remaster. More than Vdub filters, anyway. Someday.
