Good day to you JustFPV I have a quick question regarding the use of the 21700 5000mah 10A max discharge li ion cells, specifically in a 3s setup. Have you tried a 21700 battery pack in this ar mini wing by any chance ?
Hi there :) No, I didn't as they would be to heavy for the cause! 4x18650 (45g) was on the edge of what was good! going beyond those 200g would be hard to balance out (for me) and further the 21700 would be to bulky! That was the reason why I skipped 21700 cells on the Ar Mini ... (but I did on the Ripper!)
@@JustFPV-net Thank you for your reply. I was thinking about it and even though I do not have those 21700 cells with me right now, I am sure that three should fit in the ar mini electronics bay, and weigh approximately 210g to 230g , would that be ok to try on the ar mini ?
For me it was to much and the wing starts to tell you that with some slight pitch-bobbing ... I assume the center to become to heavy so it bounces slightly up and down as the wings bend according to the motion. I would not try it. 4x18650 was the max in weight and space for my Ar Mini and the performance was great - adding more weight would not gain more I think. But it's your call ... If you try, you'll find out :)
I missed that ... my bad! It is a emax mt2204 II with 2300kv ... any modern 2204 will give same results ... just don’t take a Motor with much lower kv !
Brilliant, just what I was looking for. Always fancied one of these, as I own the original Ar wing and the pro. I've heard these are great little flyers?
@@JustFPV-net Yes I totally agree. I shall be putting a emax red bottom, 2205 2300kv on mine with a folding prop and full inav with Express Lrs. Should be interesting 😉
@@JustFPV-net Yes, the intentions are good. And thinking about it now, i,ll scrap the folding prop and just keep that for the bigger stuff like Mini Talon and Skyhunter 1800mm
usually not .... to be honest I find that discussion on horizon drift to be a bit overrated! It happens ... but it's gone soon after. Perhaps it's the way I fly that it wont happen that often. But I don't feel it to deserve so much attention as other people describe it. But it would be nice if we see that fixed in a future version of iNav ... let's say v4 or v5 :D Perhaps we should first enjoy, what V3.1 has in store ... Are you "afraid" of the drift effect?
@@JustFPV-net yeah im afraid, since im just wanna to get started with wing (drone fpv before) and im dilematic if i need go with inav or ardupilot, since i will seriously long range 20km+. My complain about ardupilot just very few fc and not found 20x20 fc for small wing like this. I dont think inav cant fix that if pawel not use Kalmam filtering method. What he suggested is ignoring fast turn on FW with limit gyro on cli and its bad even worst if you fly in strong wing. Bad or not bad if there still a horozon drift it will affect RTL especially if trigger that on long range, and cant help exceptswitch to acro mode/manual mode
I disagree on the last part! RTH will "only" turn from your current heading to the next HOME point. after that it will stay linear and fly home. No turns in between :) So the risk is not that high. And yes ... I've tried hitting RTH from that distance (with this wing) ... worked as expected- no worries
Greetings again Matebox in Motion. I'm beginning to build my Ar mini wing, I've soldered the pin connectors to the Matek F411 WSE. I have a question regarding the positioning of the flight controller and esc, can the both be mounted next to each other without any interference ?
It can but I would try to stuff the esc right in front of the motor mount inside the fuselage as the space is optimal for that. I’ve got mine there too. Put a cap on the esc and on the esc-pins (+ and -) of the WSE to prevent the noise from coming from the esc! Then you are good to go
@@JustFPV-net Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not clued up on caps and the rating to use on the esc. Do I have to use a cap or can I get away without using one ?
You can of course get away with it without a cap! But be prepared (depending on your ESCs noise level) to loose the OSD at higher throttle! That happened in my last flight (on air next Wednesday). After having installed the Cap, the problem was solved. I used 470my-Farad caps ... inexpensive but still the bringer of joy ( ... and clear OSDs ) :D
@@JustFPV-net Does the osd return when you decrease throttle to cruise ?... I'll only use full/high throttle only for launching, thereafter I'll cruise out for distance.
@@ZuNunchaku just FPV has played around with this a lot more than I have. But from my testing and burning up a couple of motors (New amp meter on the way) I have found on 3S the APC 6x6 pitch is the limit, do not run on 4s! And on a 4S battery I am using a 5x4.6 Bull nose prop. If you run the APC 6 inch prop do not do full throttle runs for long periods of time.
The best simple detachable wing method!
Thanks Josh - normal Velcro will do too ;)
Very nice achievement buddy.
Thanks mate- let’s hope for summer and another light house trip together and the #raphax wings

Mine went blurred invisible at about 60% throttle... and that’s so crappy ;)
so is 4s recommended or not? any video about 3s vs 4s on this plane?
I would recommend 4s to have every option at hand! The lower weight with 3s makes the wing a bit less bouncy but that's not really an issue.
