The variety of Harvest Hosts is amazing! We've been to air museums, alpaca farm, dairy, tree farm, breweries, and a personal favorite: a drive-in theater! We set up chairs and had an ultimate "big screen" experience!
I have to be honest, Sadie rolling in the dirt was my favorite part of this video! She cracks me up with that big smile she gave you after you asked her what she was doing! LOL SHE KNEW!!!
I think it's good to remind folks that stopping at one of these HH, that it's intended to be an "overnight" stop only, and not a stop for a few days unless the owner permits it. Also, most HH do not have ANY hookups, so you better be self contained and don't dump any water in the midnight hour. We have encountered a few of them that had a simple 110 AC connection, but for the most part it's park, buy some goods, sleep, and go in the morning. Always leave a review on the HH website to inform future overnighters what's in store for them. Overall, a good deal.
You've raised the most important note: that this is DRY CAMPING, generally. Water MAY be available, but, come prepared and you'll have a good visit, I'm sure. Consider that 2-3 stays can pay for your basic yearly membership! Y'all Be Safe!
Yo Andrew. You can put a vest on your pup, with the loop/handle at the top. Then route the seatbelt through it. Then take a potato chip clip, pull on the belt to give it some slack, so it’s not pulling tight. Then simply place it on the belt so that inch or two of slack remains. So she can lay down or sit up, and be protected.
We have been members of HH since 2015 and it is our favorite way to overnight when traveling. We have met dozens of wonderful hosts and fellow RVers and formed friendships with owners and RVers that we would not have if not for the opportunity to stay at these cool places. We usually will spend about 20-30 dollars at the location and sometimes splurge and spend over $100 buying a couple of bottles of wine for friends or have dinner. We feel being able to experience these locations is worth it. We've only had one bad experience and that was due to a fellow RVer and his wife who had a few too many BOTTLES of wine and decided to give everyone around them a hard time until 3 a.m. We took it in stride and left early the next morning along with the 2 other couple that had to put up with them.
I’ve been a member of Harvest Host for about a year now. Highly recommend it. One of my favorites is Y Knot Winery in Glenns Ferry Idaho. Definitely stop by there when you head up north.
My husband and I have used HH for 2 years and absolutely love it, you have to be self-contained and it's usually for one night but other than that it's still something nice to use to get away for a weekend
Anthony. Gotta love your positive outlook on things. We are HH members, including golf. I prefer to find a golf course or brew pub that isn't TOO far out of the way. Timing can be a problem. Some are closed by 6pm, others don't open until 10 am. We always try to buy something or visit, (car collection, aviation museum, etc). Definitely for somebody that is rambling around and doesn't have a time agenda.
We love Harvest Hosts. We are doing a trip right now going from California to Maine using mostly Harvest Hosts locations. We are trying to stay at as many as we can to get an honest feel for the program. We have stayed at nothing but good locations, with some awesome hosts. Listening to the Hosts stories about their business has been one of our favorite parts so far.
Dogs like to roll in the dirt or grass for various reasons. Glad that you like HARVEST HOST for camping or overnight parking Andrew. Happy and safe travels to you both in your new vehicle.
We have stayed at several farms and museums. Love it! Another thing to let folks know is that the price you sign up for is your price as long as you are a member!
Andrew I think it’s going to take a little while to get used to that class B I went from an A to a B and it took a couple of weeks travel for me to get used to the smaller floor plan I think you’ll recognize the quality of that leisure travel the longer you use it Good luck
joined HH last year and love it. Will always try and find one (we love the wineries) along the route. The scenery is often beyond lovely. Have one already scheduled midway between IN and NJ in Aug trip to NJ for Endless RVing meet-up with Izzy and MJ
@@billyk... Billy, pecans are a nut, and you're right, pistachios are also a nut, but pecans are not called pistachios. Pecans are a delicious nut that some people make pecan pie out of and pistachios are also a nut but they have a shell that split in the middle. Pecans are a little larger. I'm sure you made a honest mistake because you never heard of a pecan but Richard was correct, pecans are real. It's okay, you tried but everyone can't know everything. Oh, if you ever get a chance try a pecan and pecan pie, I think you will enjoy them.
Good stuff with Sadie being one with the dirt.😉 I'm telling you Andrew, you're going to gain subs and likes doing this. It opens things up for so many more people to imagine they can do what you're doing now than before. It also lets me gain experience through your experience because I've never imagined traveling in an rv that size as I was certain I wanted a class A coach. I look forward to your videos in this rv and while you're at it throw a little more of your adventures in the videos.
You know I think I might do this again when I get ready in a while to go out again. They should never be full and it mostly safer and quieter than most other choices. I save this video I will use your Link when I do.
Never had a bad HH stay since we joined about a year ago. We laugh that even though the stay is free we usually spend more than if we picked an RV park, but it’s all about the experience and meeting nice people generally in business for themselves. It’s a great concept, wish I thought of it. If you like to golf that add-on is definitely worth it. The LTV looks nice, Sadie seems to like it.
That winery looks like a nice place to park your RV. Harvest Host sounds like a good deal. It was nice to see you and Sadie enjoying your new RV, too! Saving money, easier to get around, and comfortable enough, in your new digs! One day, you'll get back to a class A, but for now, you've got more freedom. I enjoyed this video. 🙂
Try making a little padded platform with two front legs to sit on the passenger seat. It will give Sadie a lot more room. I did it for my dog in the back seat of my Jeep. I like your new ride and am interested to see how you like it, as time goes on.
I've heard so many great experiences at HH locations. My biggest concern is that you need to be there before they close. When I'm pushing it across the US, I don't like to stop until around 9 pm. This makes most stops impossible for me.
Great idea. Recommendation for your 'Lady'. Get a dog food bin that is the height of your passenger seat cushion to put on the floor in front of the seat. Then put a dog bed on it and Sadie can lay down and stretch out without worry of falling on the floorboard. I do that in my Kenworth truck so Marty has is own place to nap while going down the road.
While you have a Kenworth, I have a Peterbilt. My dog is only 25# and I put his dog bed on the floor on the passenger side. (I have too much stuff on the seat.) There's a small window at the bottom of the door that he looks out of when he's not snoozing.
Hey Andrew, not sure why some of the followers are upset with your recent purchase. We ordered a Newell in November #1731. Will be completed in July. We had a dynasty in mid 2000’s and took a break from rving. When we decided to get back in we were on the fence between Benz chassis or Class A. Your videos helped steer our decision to the Newell. I think lots of folks who can afford either have the same tug of war in their heads. Parking and size vs. luxury. I think we made the right decision but I’m sure you owning this unit will help many more make the right decision. Ignore the trolls!! I think the even bigger issue would be for you to own a Newell or a Prevost, someone will be excited for you and others will be upset. 😩😩😩. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on your Newell!! It definitely amazes me at some of the hostility out there but I just try to ignore it and do what's best for me. I was telling a friend at dinner last night that I would like to eventually own a high-end class A as well as a class b as they both serve completely different purposes. I hope to cross paths with you down the road sometime and see #1731!!!
Sounds like a good deal, even better helping support small businesses. Back in the day, you could bump into someone during travels, strike up a conversation, and stay on their property, someone else's or help out one of their friends for a place to stay. That's what life is like when doing adventures on motorcycles with no particular plans between the destinations. A smaller motorhome like you have opens up much more adventures than hanging out with a bunch of old, rich folks, in an over-priced park with more big rigs. Locals are the best!
Just signed up with Andrew’s code. We have an upcoming trip and this membership plus the planning help via their app took all the guesswork out of the how’s and where’s.
Great videos Andrew! And if you’re ever in Central Illinois, check out my cousins’ farm..Brandenburg Farms! They are Harvest Hosts and they would love to show you around! It’s a great soybean/corn farm and you might get a tractor ride😉
Andrew, Very cool. We like our Harvest Host membership. If you're going through TX, go to Fredericksburg RV park. Great park and it's near lots of cool things including wineries and breweries !
Looks like the first stay of a HH is a good one. Anthony NM is a very small town, those trees I believe are pistachios. Get some local food and enjoy the Red and Green Chile of NM.
Cute watching Sadie roll in the dirt! 😂 I just purchased my RV 2 months ago (Entegra Odyssey 29K Class C). Gonna head out soon. I’m 3 weeks post 2nd Covid vaccine. Gonna roll that way. Already signed up with Harvest Host. Added the golf portion when they offered it to me for a discount. Some golf resorts require you play a round. I’ll pass on those. Hope to start my adventures soon!

You forgot to mention that once someone has signed up they get their own referral code to use and get bonuses as well for anyone who signs up using their code. Pretty cool program that I plan on using once we finally hit the road in a year or two...

Outstanding!!! But, I'm really waiting for the full breakdown in differences. Big Coach vs Leisure Van! I really want to pull the trigger on the van!
Completely jealous of your new RV. That model has been on my radar for awhile. Very eager to hear your review when you get to Florida.
Those are Pecan trees. Pecans are big in this part of New Mexico.
