    PhD in 2 years defeats the entire purpose of the degree. It’s not a race to finish. It’s about learning the research process, hopefully contributing to the current knowledge base in your chosen field, how to ask the right questions and problem-solve. Not to mention being able to communicate your work through a dissertation and oral presentations. It takes experience. Most universities have a 3 year minimum for a PhD

      @@renganmurli6222 At University of Cambridge they won’t give you a PhD with only 2 years of research. Experiments take time. Intelligence doesn’t make them go faster. And everyone knows that scientific results need to be confirmed through repetition. Put it this way, I would never hire anyone with a 2 year PhD. They would be equivalent to the MSc degrees my company hires who are noticeably inferior to 3+ year PhDs. Why? Because they haven’t spent enough time thinking. They haven’t had anything go wrong and had to work out solutions on their own. They just don’t have the same mental fortitude as someone who has struggled.

    This kid is obviously very intelligent but let me put something in perspective: what seems more like a genius to you?
    An individual that spend decades of their career deeply researching something, becoming involved in the fundamentals of their passion and unraveling a new scientific theory, maybe even creating new equipment to sent humanity ahead, or a individual that has their plans set on finishing academia fast above understanding and connecting with the subject? I’m sure he loves what he does, I’m just wondering if he loves the speed running more than the science.

    • @thespecialkid1384
      @thespecialkid1384 26 дней назад

      i think the reasons why they don't end up being successful at least what i have noticed with prodigies in maths and physics, is that they have very good memory, and perform well acedemically, but struggle with creative thinking, and outside the box thinking. Think of someone like einstein he had a bad memory, did poorly in school, and his teachers doubted him, but he had creativity, and outside the box thinking, which lead him to revolutionise physics with special relativity, general relativity, and the photoelectric effect.

      Diste con la clave. Lo que tienen es simplemente un desarrollo prematuro impresionante. Es decir que son personas de 30/35 años a los 15 años. Pero el crecimiento no es exponencial, sino que crecen, pero no tanto. Y los demás se van emparejando. Con lo cual no vas a ver tanta diferencia entre ellos a los 30 años y los otros "normales". Encima terminan siendo en el proceso animales de circo. Saludos!
