Good for you listening to your convictions! I started feeling convicted about the music I listened to years ago and slowly over 10 years have made a change to where I only really like to listen to worship. I never thought I would ever give up mainstream music, but God did the work inside of me.
Emma, I watch every week. Last night before school starts, having a cup of decaf (as you requested), taking deep some deep breaths and glanced at a book. You are doing a great job explaining the "real life" of staying home. You add advice and suggestions! Wonderful video.
Emma, what an eloquent & beautiful vlog where you stand firm in your faith on a variety of topics. I love your transparency of life experiences. Keep up the fantastic job💘💘💘
I was folding laundry in the sun while listening today. I live in Ketchikan Alaska and yesterday there was a major landslide in town that closed schools for the first 3 days of the year. So I got an extra day to catch up with you and others. That is my day today.
I really appreciate you being honest about how finances make you feel as a sahm. I feel the same way and it helped me feel less alone hearing you share 🙂
Nursing my baby while listening ! He’s almost 2 months old! Time goes so fast after babies 😢❤ Proud of you for being honest and open!! Stay true to your convictions and discernments!! ❤
I was homeschooled my whole life and I don’t regret a thing. I am so close with my sisters and my mom because of it. As for the hybrid thing, finding a co-op is so good because it gives you friends and some of the fun events public schools have (prom, graduation, social events). It also can give you a chance to have other more knowledgeable parents teach your kids the harder subjects.
I just recently had a moment of realization that I need to work on contentment. Isn’t it amazing how we can feel that we have so little with every scroll? I am definitely with you on feeling the need to by pass accounts that tell me what to buy. I’m too much of a shopper!
I’ve noticed such a HUGE difference really limiting tv with my 3 year old. His speech has gotten so much better, he is more creative, and he’s constantly looking at his books. It’s so easy to just turn on the tv, but it’s so much better to be totally present with them and actually spend time with them. I have more fun with my son than I do watching any show/movie.
TOTALLY relate to your comments on being a SAHM. Such guilt can be carried, and I think it happens more when you had a career before kids. I was a hairstylist, and as much as I wouldn’t trade being able to tend to my babies, there’s always a level of guilt with myself when money is tighter. Thank you for speaking truth, and Jesus. 🫶🤍
I totally understand the guilt of going from two incomes to one. Our AC went out this week and I felt so guilty that I wasn’t working and therefore added financial burden on my husband. He’s very sweet and reassures me that this is the best place for me in our season of life. But it’s nice to hear it’s hard from other SAHMs too ❤️
I enjoy these q&A. Actually I enjoy it all the mix of your videos that you do. I always listen to your videos Sunday mornings as I'm getting ready for church or feeding my baby.
Sitting on the couch playing on my phone and enjoying peace and quiet. As a husband and father of 3 currently everyone is asleep and it’s the 2nd to last night before students return to my classroom.
I’m a SAHM too! Something that has helped me to feel like I’m contributing is finding ways to SAVE money, versus making extra! When I have the opportunity, I hang dry our clothes to save on electricity. I make a lot of food from scratch, I freeze stuff before it goes bad, I keep up to date on what’s in the freezer and make sure to use it up before it gets freezer burnt. I made our own laundry soap for a while (though that wasn’t good enough and I had to buy some regular detergent. Not every swing is a hit lol)! You get the point. I try to focus on ways to save the money we have yo help combat my own feelings. I do also point them out to my husband and tell him “I did xyz to save money! Hopefully that should have saved you x hours of work.” He’s always very happy and excited and it’s very affirming to me 💖
I was homeschooled and it was absolutely the right choice! I did all my classes as home minus math and science. For those I went to a teacher-she taught homeschool kids in her home. This allowed me to make friends and have a graduating class to walk the stage with!
While I watched your video, I was drinking coffee and relaxing in my recliner after a busy day. 🤪 I always enjoy your videos and your encouragement to all of us.
I feel this so much on the talk about SAHM and struggling with not contributing financially. My husband is the same way and has never felt me feel less than but wow it is difficult and not something I was expecting.
I really appreciated your honesty. I was working; creating a monthly report while listening. I have never had a c-section so I can't speak to that, but I do have seven children and it's truly the best (and sometimes the hardest but mostly the best). My husband is primarily responsible for homeschooling and care-giving (just how the Lord led us) but we totally understand the single-income (with supplements) and lots of kids. Comparison is the worst!
Absolutely loved this Q&A! Had so many things I needed to hear, and so many things I could relate to, also being a Christian SAHM. While watching/ listening I was reviewing all the info for back to school to make sure I'm ready 😅 (got a 5th grader and Kindergartener starting tomorrow!)
Can you explain why the references in tortured poets are wrong? Totally respect your decision to not listen but as a Christian and someone who majored in English I understood her biblical references to be a literary device and that’s what actually makes me love the album more. I feel like a lot of Christian’s jumped on the “blasphemy” without being able to explain or understand what that meant
To be honest I was hesitant to talk about it for this reason - it’s solely my conviction and was just an unsettledness in my own spirit while I listened and that may not be your conviction and it doesn’t have to be!
Loved your video always love your q &a videos. While watching today I was ironing clothes for the first week of school (preschool teacher). Gotta have something that I love watching while doing that daunting task lol. Thank you so much for your channel, love all your content. I always look forward to Sunday ❤
I was watching after I took my puppy for her 2am, MD time, walk. I was waiting for her to get settled in her crate for bed and it was quite so I figured what better time to watch your video then now lol. 💜
Hi Emma! First I want to say that I love your channel and I watch your videos every week. I do want to try to offer you a different perspective on what you shared about Taylor Swift. As a Swiftie myself (a male one lol), I definitely have my favorite songs and albums, and I also have songs and albums that I don't enjoy as much for my own reasons. The reasons you shared for not enjoying/wanting to listen to TTPD are absolutely valid. However, I watched your Eras Tour vlog last year and saw that you really had a deep passion for her and her music. I imagine it was very difficult for you to come away from TTPD feeling the way you did after loving her and her music for so long. When it comes to music, I feel like we all have our own tastes and desires, and just because Taylor released one album that doesn't sit well with you shouldn't mean that you should stop listening to her altogether. I encourage you to keep this in mind if you continue to feel convicted, and maybe you will rediscover your passion for Taylor. If that is not the case and you continue to not gravitate toward her as much as you used to, at least then you will know that her music may not be for you any more, and that's totally ok! Sometimes we no longer love the things that we used to, which is just a natural part of life. I just wanted to share my two cents - you don't have to agree with me! - since you shared that you were feeling convicted. Overall, I love your content, and hearing you share your thoughts on so many different topics every week has helped me positively shift my mindset so much! Keep being awesome, and I will definitely be back for more content!
I've been feeling the same conviction with Tswift! Almost identical to you, listenened to her new album and instantly felt like I shouldn't be listening to it. The Holy spirit was convicting me hard on that one. You're not alone, thanks for being so real with us!
I had the same feelings about Taylor Swift! I’m a big lit person so I figured this album would be a slam dunk for me. Not only did I feel a similar conviction but I agree it just feels sad and heavy not to mention self involved and elitist to me. Idk, I didn’t listen to it much after that but I’m glad to hear I’m not alone!
I was setting up a new microwave.. lol. I have been homeschooling for quite some time- we are heading in year 16! My oldest two went to public school for a short time.. I love your videos.. they are so calm.. wonderful advice you give, I share with some moms that currently have toddlers .. I love when you share your convictions, I think it’s a beautiful thing.
I was sitting with my water and watching. As always, I enjoyed. Only had one c-section so can’t be any help on that one. So thankful you are able to stay home with your girls! I totally agree about giving it to the Lord and tithing. He always provides when we give it to Him.
I’ve had three c-sections. While pregnant with our third, I made the decision to have my tubes tied during the c-section. My body was spent and I honestly just didn’t have it in me to have more. My husband would have 20 kids if it were up to him. During my third c-section, my doctor was very vocal about how thin the scar tissue was in my incision area and how it was a very wise decision to be having her tie my tubes as well. Had I not already made the decision to be done having babies prior to my third c-section, my decision would’ve been made after she made that comment. She said it would be dangerous for me to have more. Obviously every body is different, but that is my experience with three c-sections (August 2019, March 2021, September 2023) in a very short period of time.
I had 4 c-sections all healthy babies. After my 4th they did tell me that my scar tissue was really bad and that I should get my tubes tied so I did. 😢I wish I could have one more because I have 3 boys and 1 girl. I would have loved to see her be a big sister. She’s 3 and asks for a baby all the time.
To your question at the end: what are you doing right now? We just brought our second baby boy home today and my oldest was born same month/year as Jo. I have just pumped for the first time and am laying my sore post c section down for a bit of rest. Love your videos as always ❤
Mama of four boys here. 11,9,7,& 3 years old, all C-sections. And I feel like all of my recoveries were fairly easy. Also, 4 boys is PLENTY for me 😂 They're so much fun, but the testosterone in this house is raging. I had a co-worker who had 6 C-sections, and she still wanted more children. 😯
I have no kids haha but I think about homeschooling them every day. Today while watching I was getting ready to take my sister to pick out a build a bear 💕
I was able to have 3 the first 2 were under the bikini line but there was too much scar tissue so my third had to be cut from my belly. So the scar is from belly button down. My dr said I would be able to have another one from that incision if I wanted to. Unfortunately I was unable to conceive the fourth so it was in Gods plans to only give birth to 3 :)
While watching I was crocheting (my new hobby!). 🧶 Also, just wanted to thank you - I am pregnant with my first baby and so excited and nervous to be a mom! Finding your channel has really encouraged me. There are some sweet moms on RUclips, but I sometimes struggle to relate to their lifestyles (and fall into that consumerism you were talking about) but your channel is always a place where I just feel like I can really relate and feel encouraged to pursue God in this new stage of life. Thanks for being so open and honest and real! Also, a year ago I was so obsessed with T. Swift that when Tortured Poets came out tons of friends texted to ask what I thought. I had similar feelings to yours and have been listening less. I agree that it is about how you feel personally convicted and it didn't sit quite right with me either. I just have mixed feelings and also was feeling like I was in a musical rut so I am now trying to listen to new artists more. Thanks for sharing that perspective!

I have had 6 sections and don't regret any of them! All went well! It really depends how your scar heals that determines how many you should have.

Driving home so this was perfect to listen to. I appreciate your thoughts on mainstream music. It can be such a distraction. Thanks for sharing 🤗
I downloaded this and listened on the way home from work as a kinder para! ❤
I was prepping dinner while I listened! ❤
I was getting ready for work (elementary teacher) while listening. 😊
Emma you should totally do a podcast with your fans? What do you think? It would be so fun to chat with you💖
While I watched your video, I was drinking coffee and relaxing in my recliner after a busy day. 🤪 I always enjoy your videos and your encouragement to all of us.
Started watching while I was getting ready for church this morning. Finishing it up during nap time 😊
Really enjoyed this, Emma! I took my first Costco run with my 8 month old this weekend, so I was cutting up fruit to freeze while watching this :)

I was homeschooled. Best experience ever. Eating an apple relaxing after cleaning house all day.
Decompressing from the first day of school!! School-based SLP here!

I was doing my work from home job while listening!
Listening in the car.
Q&As are so fun.
I started this video playing on the floor with my baby, paused it to very nervously follow him crawl up the stairs, then rocked him to sleep :)
I was also drinking coffee and cooking a breakfast hash/egg mix in my kitchen:)
Listening while eating my lunch on break at work!
I have a mountainous pile of laundry I've been working on while watching your video this morning. It's now a slightly smaller mountain lol 😅
Prepping centers for kindergarten!

I wouldn’t homeschool forever! I plan on going back someday, I have no idea when. 🤗
Working!
Getting my baby boy to sleep💗
Listened while cleaning out new nursery 🤭🤰🏻
Ahhh how fun!!
I had four c sections all around 18ish months apart (all breeched babies) no problems, fourth was a breeze tbh since I knew what to expect.
That’s amazing!🙌🏻

Listening while on a walk 😂
MOTN feed over here!

my friend had 4 c-sections, but I am sure there are many things to factor in.

Wow that’s amazing!
Riding in the car on vacation
Fun!☀️
Cleaning my kitchen
Why can the third baby not be a c-section? You can switch. You are not forced to have them again and again.
My babies are too big lol so the chances of a vbac turning into an emergency C-section are high. I also really enjoyed my scheduled C-section!
While watching I was crocheting (my new hobby!). 🧶
