Great video skills as always Christopher old chap. It's a great venue although I have to say that up in the higher seating, the acoustics are slightly ropey. It's a testament to your skill and charm, not to mention your sterling work with Buck & Evans that Cardinal Black are already kicking ass even before the debut album hit the shelves. That's pretty special and you're an inspiration for any 21st century musician mate.
The moment Tom stepped out to the front of the stage to sing without the mic was pretty epic. The guitar solos were incredible as well. Can't help but think that in the future there will be artists vlogging about their experience opening for the legendary Cardinal Black.
Thank you for putting this up Chris, we tried to get tickets but all the wheelchair spaces were gone, dammit. That was emotional, my wife and I were crying, it is wonderful to see you all getting the recognition you deserve. Hope we get to see the band sometime soon. Good Luck.
I was there bang in the middle of the stalls. In fact I am the dude in the dark shirt directly above Chris's head in the still shot at 23:45 I have both my arms up in appreciation! Prior to this gig I confess I had never heard of Cardinal Black or indeed Chris. The band had the audience's attention like few support bands I have ever seen, and I have been going to gigs for over 40 years. There were some really quiet parts of their set, and the audience was silent - none of the normal chatter as fans of the main act down their beers and yatter away. They knew they were in the presence of a special act. Excellent gig Chris. Well done and glad you enjoyed such a special moment. It must have been surreal.
Is that you waving? That is a shot to show your grandchildren. I enjoyed reading what it was like in the audience. There seemed to be a scattering of empty seats as is usual for the opening band. The audience also looked older, as I have seen at other "nostalgia" concerts. They seemed to be just sitting there. Personally, I am a stand up and dance for the whole concert kind of guy, even though I am older. Chris is one of the few players that gets me rocking every time. I cannot sit still. The standing ovation at the end was more enthusiastic.
There's something very satisfying about watching someone you like and admire fulfill their dreams, and this was a pleasure to watch from start to finish with a big smile. It's one thing to get the chance to play this iconic venue, but it seemed everyone grabbed it with both hands and played with enormous passion and great skill. From that slightly surreal sound check, to the chilling a capella bit in the dressing room, to the fantastic performance on stage, it was a blast to see you guys loving every second, and sounding great That air punch at the end said it all. Thank you Chris for sharing this.
Mad props Chris and to the rest of the band! So happy for all the success you and your band are having. It’s so nice to see great musicians, playing great music, getting the recognition they deserve! Well done! Brilliant!
Chris Buck is like the guitar Gods of old... He really is in a class all his own... And Cardinal Black is a band worthy of such an incredible guitarist!
Superb performance!!! Great guitar riffs Great keyboards Thumping bass Sweet vocals When Tom lit the house without the microphone I got chills !!! Cardinal Black rules !!! When are you going to tour Seattle ??!! Chris make it happen...
I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to walk out on stage at the Albert Hall. Incredible and well deserved. You’re a great band. I think the crowd reaction says it all. The album is superb by the way. Congrats and I wish you all the best.
I have been watching these videos for years and it is so amazing to watch the growth of Chris Buck and the whole Cardinal Black band. So well-deserved!
Ahh man, what a video. Not often a RUclips video will bring me to tears, twice! Once when Tom stepped in front of the mic for a bit of acoustic, and also when you got that standing ovation. Aside from the incredible footage of your performance this was an amazing insight into a RAH playing experience. Seriously well put-together video. Tidy boys 😎
That was amazing! Your tone was incredible. Your singer stepping forward and singing without the mic was an awesome moment. Thanks for bringing us along for such a moment. Cheers
I was there Chris, with two friends. I'd told them all about you and Cardinal Black as I was delighted you were the support. You rose to the occasion and didn't let me down; you won my friends over as well as many others in the audience that night. It's not often that a support act gets a standing ovation, but you totally deserved it!
Killer band. Obviously chris but that singer going off mic and singing into the acoustics of the hall was show stoppingly great- great band all around. Congrats guys.
Great to see a standing ovation for a great performance. Cardinal Black kills it. Chris is a top rock guitar player, inspiring to watch. Only a few players seem to have a direct connection between their soul and instrument. Chris is one of them.
Chris, I was there on the 8th with my wife (row 7, seats 25 & 26 and in the video). What an amazing set. You’re all incredibly talented. Obviously we’d gone to see Peter but you guys were such a great surprise. So glad we got to see you live. Have since bought the album and told everyone I know all about you guys. Can’t wait for the live stream on the 26th. I’ll be watching your tour dates. More, more more 😊
Mesmeric show boys (and girl). Excited to see you at the Islington Assembly Rooms next April. I bought my ticket in the changeover between you guys and Frampton! Don't know if you caught it but Peter was very complimentary about you on stage as well. Thoroughly deserved.
Good luck to you and the band. I didn't manage to get to see you in Glasgow as the wife has long covid but i follow your RUclips videos religiously! Best Welsh band since Stereophonics.............. Much love!
Cardinal back imo is one of the best bands operating today. Love everyone, especially the soul element in their playing which I think modern music lacks a lot. I would support them with Whatever I can.
Chris, I'm an oldster. Like, literally, one of the last Boomers. At 61, I easily recall how Frampton Comes Alive changed my worldview. I can't easily relate how happy I am that you have managed to touch base with that legacy to help bring about his swan song. Peter is a legend. I am utterly delighted that you will have played a role in his final musical breath. Well done, man. Well done. And in doing so, your band will have taken a place in history that no other can claim. I love what you do. Such great depth and soul.
Baby boomers, often shortened to boomers, are the demographic cohort following the Silent Generation and preceding Generation X. The generation is often defined as people born from 1946 to 1964,
I've been following Chris all the way back to the Tom Hollister Trio, hoping upon hope that this young man would get his just due one day as the next great guitarist. Seeing this performance at the RAH brought tears to my eyes. And Chris is such a humble guy. And cudos to the band - they're so tight and the songs are extremely well-constructed. I hope they make it to the U.S. soon. Oh, and I love the addition of the female voice - adds another dimension to their sound. Wow!
Tom’s got soul in his voice I’m not sure where it came from. I guess it’s in his genes. Chris is a great guitarist who plays for the song. Then great drummer and bass player and Taye Cousins is a great back up singer. Just an all around great bunch of music that came together at the right time right place with great songs.
Congrats on the bucket list gig. I love the blue-eyed soul sound you all have. I gotta say, you are very underrated as a backing vocalist. That part at 9:13 is amazing. You blend so well. Cheers from Texas, US 🙏
I love his harmonious and melodious way of speaking. Keep in mind that most very successful RUclipsrs don't release a sentence without 5 cuts. Apparently, the ability to talk like this and play like this correlate with each other if this make sense.
Big outpouring of love & respect for Peter on this special night - I’ve been a fan for 50 years since seeing him with Humble Pie in Hyde Park in his 20’s! You guys actually stole the show with heart & soul - great warm vibe for you in the audience. You had everything it takes to have been headlining! ✌️🎸✨
Wow, so awesome Chris! That must have been amazing to stand on that stage and play, let alone opening for Frampton! 🎸🤩 And you and your band kicked ass! (Even a standing ovation 😮) So cool, congratulations!🎉
I don't know if this tour, with the Albert Hall finale, is you big break. I really hope it is. You absolutely deserve it, as do your band members. Best of luck and a fabulous performance.
He shoots, he scores! Great move, Tom! Ironically, I discovered this band while reading a review of Peter Frampton's recent Royal Albert Hall release, and I am HOOKED!! Waiting patiently for a US tour, but if I have to make a trek across the pond to meet the boys on their own soil, that's a trip I'm willing to make. To see them on a double bill with King King would make that trip extra special!
AMAZING Chris. Thanks for this incredible behind the scenes look at such an iconic world class venue. You guys sound absolutely fantastic .. a standing 'O' and it gave me goosebumps .. and so deserving of finally getting some recognition! Ordered my CD.
Third time watching ... louder every time.. Bloody brilliant!! Makes me slightly emotional having been following Chris for years and Cardinal Black from the beginning, and now being a proud Kickstarter... seeing Chris, Tom, Adam, Sam, Greg and definitely not forgetting Tay absolutely smashing this out of the park. Xxxxxx
Wow, what a ride!!! Thanks so much for putting together this amazing video and sharing it with us. Not ashamed to say I have tears in my eyes because I'm sooooo happy for you! Really well deserved. And all the more so because you're so humble about your musical abilities. That humility comes through in the footage of the entire band as well. You are an amazing and charming bunch of musicians and I can't wait to see you in concert myself. Please make it to the west coast of the US soon! The Hult Center in Eugene, Oregon would make an excellent venue.... ;)
What a treat that was! I was not expecting to see a video this week, so I watched it immediately when I opened RUclips and what a fantastic video it is. It has wonderful performances and shares your experience, which is quite nice to see. In my mind your experience ads a certain quality and value to the video. Thank you!
Wow......... so delighted for you Chris and the band...... Unreal and you all definitely played out of your skin..... the audience response is such a clear demonstration of that...... Keep it up guys!!!
Absolutely fantastic, every thing i want in a band, I must get tickets to the next London gig. Bought the ep originally then the album which is top notch. This band is going places
Man it doesn't get any cooler than playing the Albert! You are a fortunate, talented individual Chris - supporting Peter Frampton eh? Wow what a journey you are on.
Fantastic Chris. When you say it's surreal, multiply by 100 for all of us "guitar slingers" at Bernie's Mojos #1 and #2 who got to play along with you and are now seeing you at these great venues.
WOW!! When Tom stepped in front away from the mic I believe my response was appropriate, "Holy f*ck dude, YESSS!!!". Amazing playing, amazing performance.
I gave you a standing ovation too. You guys were carrying so much energy. Everyone was on and the audience felt it, you guys knew it and fed off of it and off each other. I've got goosebumps. Thank you for that great performance.
Wow wow wow, guys you blow me away every time you're friggin awesome ❤️ And Chris my brother your playing gives me goosebumps, I just gotta get out an see you all live. Such a beautiful sound ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hair-raising! Having produced a few shows in RAH, I have a deep appreciation of how intimidating that venue can be. You all killed it dead. Hope you get some camera time on the PBS special...you earned it. (And if that was Henry Diltz shooting stills, better see if you can get the rights. He's a legend.). Congratulations!
The most amazing music venue in the world. I have seem some incredible gigs here from 1989 onwards.... the memories I have here are way way way beyond special. It has an energy all of its own. Cant wait to go back there and I can only begin to imagine what it must be like for a performer.
Watching you grow over the past few years has been a blessing. I am only one subscriber, but I know that your passion to entertain reaches out to every single one of us. That passion to entertain every subscriber/fan is what fuels your drive to grow as a musician. I will continue to demand quality entertainment and you can take that promise and fuel more growth to please this selfish subscriber. So proud of you mate. ❤!!
You made it truly one of the best nights ever at The Royal Albert Hall! I'm forever thankful that I was there to see and hear such a fantastic performance from a great band with the most amazing skilled guitarist.....and that charismatic front man with phenomenal presence! Everyone was so richly deserving of the standing ovation. The guests in our box were blown away and totally captivated by the whole performance like I've not seen in a very long time. We've just booked to see you at the Hideaway Festival and truly can't wait to experience you play live again. It wont be long before your back that the RAH as headliners!
Never easy and always a learning curve opening for someone elses audience (although I guess a number of Black fans sneaked in) but you all absolutely nailed it, guys! Ironically, I saw Frampton's Camel live in '72 opening for Humble Pie. He nailed it, too.
This was just an amazing amazing video, from the behind the scenes, the vocal warm ups, to the set, the guitar, the drums, the singing. Wow! I've had the pleasure of seeing Mr Frampton live before, and he was sublime..... this was another level
This was such an amazing thing to get to watch happen for you guys. When I saw you guys on stage for the show and 'Tell Me How It Feels' started playing I suddenly had goosebumps come over me. I can imagine how special this whole experience must have been for all of you. I only know you and the band through this medium but I'm genuinely so happy for you guys. I'm kinda at a loss for words. I wondered if Pete Thorn helped hook you up with Peter Frampton, just like he did for Rick Beato. Now I know! : )
Yeah me too. First time I ever heard Chris was when he did Paul David's 10 guitarist improvise over the same track. I picked Chris, Pete Thorn and Tim Pierce as top 3. Pete Thorn is such a nice guy, it doesn't surprise me that introduced him to Peter Frampton.
Well done ! I would love to know what ride (seams like a Constantinople renaissance) your drummer used on that stage. I really appreciate your overall sound. Very inspiring and it's a blast to play along with. Cheers From Jonquière (Québec)/Canada :)
Hi Chris. Aaaand that it why I have continued to follow you since the beginning, your videos showing your signature Strat pickups, beautiful Tom Petty tribute, etc etc. You and the guys absolutely nailed it. Well done buddy, well deserved.
Just awesome Chris. Congratulations to Cardinal Black . All of you sound fantastic. Have been trying to spread the word about how amazing Cardinal Black is , in my little kneck of the woods. Congratulations on the tour and new album ! Keep making such wonderful music. !!!
That was AMAZING!!! Your guitar playing incredible as usual and your singer hit it out of the park when he sang with no mic. Standing O for all of you was well deserved
It is great to see you guys grow as a band. Can't wait to see you in the Ziggo Dome Amsterdam one day, in the footsteps of Porcupine Tree. Love the album by the way, worth the wait.
Great to hear that Pete Thorn is helping other musicians, allthough I am not at all surprised! And you guys just sound better and better every time you post something from a gig!
I keep watching this. What a great video. Captures the excitement and nerves but also the energy of being in a band. You guys deserve loads of success. Love Chris’s channel and the insights for us aspiring guitarists but this is really about a great band. Look forward to seeing you in 23
So well stated in the comments below, in no time, CARDINAL BLACK, will headline The amazing Royal Albert Hall!!!! And much deserving of such an amazing band!!! TUCKER
Man it gives me the chills seeing an awesome band having such a massive success. Totally deserved.
2nd that!!!
A view to something many of us never get a chance to see, thank you Chris!
Hopefully a few more Scottish venues next cardinal black tour, would love to see you in Dundee!
Wow. Beautiful

Please come to Florida!
I'm glad I wasn't at the Albert Hall gigs because the audience were all sitting - I'm 60+, portly and I would have needed to dance...
The moment Tom stepped out to the front of the stage to sing without the mic was pretty epic. The guitar solos were incredible as well. Can't help but think that in the future there will be artists vlogging about their experience opening for the legendary Cardinal Black.
Definitely sold a few albums there….or streams….or whatever the fuck it is we do these days 😂
I was there; came to see you, and Frampton was a bonus act. An amazing night and what a performance.
Thank you for putting this up Chris, we tried to get tickets but all the wheelchair spaces were gone, dammit. That was emotional, my wife and I were crying, it is wonderful to see you all getting the recognition you deserve. Hope we get to see the band sometime soon. Good Luck.

Very well said!
Those harmonies are incredible. Not many bands out there with a tight 4 parts!
Chris Buck is like the guitar Gods of old... He really is in a class all his own... And Cardinal Black is a band worthy of such an incredible guitarist!
Small drum kit Big talent !!!
Superb performance!!!
Great guitar riffs
Great keyboards
Thumping bass
Sweet vocals
When Tom lit the house without the microphone I got chills !!!
The album is great, I’ve been playing it whenever someone is in the car and I always get a “I like this, who is it?”
Tidy boys 😎
I was lucky enough to be there - it was an absolutely sensational performance. Congrats guys.
You were at the concert, that would have been interesting
Very cool !! I'm wondering if PF had anything to say about Cardinal Black?
That was amazing! Your tone was incredible. Your singer stepping forward and singing without the mic was an awesome moment. Thanks for bringing us along for such a moment. Cheers

You guys sounds killer!
Killer band. Obviously chris but that singer going off mic and singing into the acoustics of the hall was show stoppingly great- great band all around. Congrats guys.
Loved the 'right foot on the wah - left foot on the pedal board air tap' in the soundcheck. You guys rocked that set.
How como that crowd didn’t go nuts after listening to Chris’ guitar solos? Makes no sense.
The audience enjoyed them I can assure you. I was there.
Great to see a standing ovation for a great performance. Cardinal Black kills it. Chris is a top rock guitar player, inspiring to watch. Only a few players seem to have a direct connection between their soul and instrument. Chris is one of them.
WOW!! Congratulations on achieving such heights, Well deserved and you sounded n looked awesome!
Chris, I was there on the 8th with my wife (row 7, seats 25 & 26 and in the video). What an amazing set. You’re all incredibly talented.

I hope you didn't wipe the floor with Peter. He'd have had to be at the top of his game to follow the CB set!

Well deserved great show and love your latest album

Incredible passion.
Drummer soooo good
Wow that was a moment singing into the hall at the end… killer
Being a massive Buck & Evans fan I didn't want to like this but...that was fucking awesome 😒
Congrats to you and your band, Royal Albert Hall is a fantastic venue. Cool that Pete Thorn helped you get the gig!
That was AMAZING!!! Your guitar playing incredible as usual and your singer hit it out of the park when he sang with no mic. Standing O for all of you was well deserved
Amazing gig! 🙌🏻
I’m not much of a writer so to save me struggling I have just one word - AWESOME. 🍺
It is great to see you guys grow as a band. Can't wait to see you in the Ziggo Dome Amsterdam one day, in the footsteps of Porcupine Tree. Love the album by the way, worth the wait.
That was an incredible inside look! Thanks for bringing us along. That pick flick at the end of your set..epic distance mate!
I loved the standing with your full weight on one pedal whilst pressing another pedal with your other foot.
Great to hear that Pete Thorn is helping other musicians, allthough I am not at all surprised! And you guys just sound better and better every time you post something from a gig!
That gave me chills. Tom stepping out from behind the mic....WOW!
I keep watching this. What a great video. Captures the excitement and nerves but also the energy of being in a band. You guys deserve loads of success. Love Chris’s channel and the insights for us aspiring guitarists but this is really about a great band. Look forward to seeing you in 23
I have to say that move you made while standing on the Wah and hitting another pedal was pretty slick. The band sounded great, thanks for sharing.
Really cool opportunity Chris! Thanks for sharing it with us.
I’m happy!! I love “Cardinal music “ and Chris Buck !! ❤❤❤🤟🏻👏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🎸🎸🤗🤗
So well stated in the comments below, in no time, CARDINAL BLACK, will headline The amazing Royal Albert Hall!!!! And much deserving of such an amazing band!!! TUCKER
