As a 60 year old Knick fan, I respected the hell out of this man, even though he broke our hearts many times. We only got past the Bulls in 94 cuz he wasn’t there. We could never beat him. Tbh, when we finally beat them and eventually advanced to finals, that series win felt empty and hallow. We wanted to beat the best that ever played the game.

@@Abcedhdjekeitbski can tell ur a kid or started watching NBA recently.
Why dfk do u bring stats up when it’s Kobe time? We all know Kobe has no stats to compete.
The eye-test is what made Kobe great. Never quitting attitude. Never whinning to the refs attitude. Played in the worst offensive era so teams were not even going past 90 points.
People bring up stats like triple doubles and assists, or field Goals % like they tell the whole story. Bro assists dont mean ur a great passer by itself, it means you have good teammates to share the ball. The field goal percentage is easy to justify for kobe. He was the sole scorer on a team therefore teams would blitz or triple guard kobe cuz lakers had no one else. Make kobe shot em all and live with results. Everyone else was role players. Except Shaq and the If kobe had played in this era with this many talented players ? Lord!
Imagine kobe with AD? Ohhh please.
What happened in the worst offensive nba era/best defensive ratings era that atop of that, Lakers had no one that could score 15 points consistently outside Kobe/Gasol/Shaq.
Kobe carried the franchise, the nba, and ultimately dominated from 2000-2010.
In my books and in my eyes. Kobe still better than Bron. Its the dawg never quitting attitude. Never whinning to ref like LeDrama

"There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."

Compared to 23 the league looks completely watered down with the greats he had to face to become the best. No one ever went through the gauntlet that he had to go through. So any real basketball ball fan put you hands down an stand up for the greatest of all time…
