I have to agree with this list 🤷🏾♂️
My daughter mom got a sociology degree and she working at the DMV at 50k a year no overtime, and I have 9 Mechanics / mechanical engineer certifications through the Army National Guard and I work for NYC. Making 90k to 110k yearly
Salute sir✊🏿
Yuup I dated two women that got sociology degrees masters in major debt they were
@@AnthonyWheatley_ useless degrees can be salvaged if you have minors, licenses, certifications, and/or graduate degrees in marketable areas.
@@pranavpillai7778 that’s the key but are they getting those certifications and graduate degrees etc
@@AnthonyWheatley_ I don't know. But I sure am. Sometimes, life is truly what you make of it. I will become an attorney.
I been saying that for a long time why get a degree cost a 100K but top pay is $50k
Lol the part where the psych major girl started diagnosing everyone, 10/10 cringe. I knew someone like that too lol!
Well done. I teach high school chemistry, biology, and anatomy. Students would say to me what they were planning to study. I was one who said, "Follow your passion in so many words." I need to say study the opportunities and costs for the program. Thanks, Rick
Well said!

Additionally, there are specific careers that require you to have a degree to go into it which any one degree mentioned can be useful.
Psychology- clinical psychology is a great field. Tough to get into but can be very lucrative. Also, with minors in busines or IT a psychology degree can be a great fit for HR management, IT, and a great stepping stone into the law.
Fine Arts- can be good if you wanted to go into Web design, UX design, graphic design, art teacher, and many other art related careers which require college education. Additionally, with the right minors it can be a good fit for many different careers in IT, advertising, media, management, and many more.
Photography- might sound useless at the offset but can be a lot like a Fine Arts major as I mentioned above.
Sociology- can be a great stepping stone for a JD or an MBA. Also, can break into IT and other sorts of government and company positions which require just a Bachelors if you had practical minors just as Psychology. The transferrable skills can make you a good fit for journalism, advertising, and media.
Archaeology/Anthropology- very similar to sociology.
Theology- Interestingly many churches require bachelors degrees for their clergy. And can be used in the same ways as the majors that I mentioned above.
Overall, the point is majors as the ones you mentioned may seem useless at the offset but if you had a realistic plan they can work out. Having a good plan is important for any college degree. A degree is what you make of it, not the title of the major.
I already like the video by the title!
Pretty much stay away from liberal arts degrees!
Liberal arts degrees are fine if you have practical minors and/or graduate degrees in practical areas.
Liberal Arts degrees are great when they precede an MBA, JD, or graduate Accounting degree.
Ahhhh shit I’m a third year psychology major and I’m just scared of not finding a job after college. I’m heard so many stories about psych. Now I regret changing my major to psych
You still have time. If you don't change at least minor in something that will be lucrative.
I have a useless 4 year Psychology degree. What was I thinking!
Many psychology majors end of working in human resources in corporate America or becoming a school counselor
I do feel a lil better I owe a little over a 100k but I did get an engineering degree but I still feel like I got scammed 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Until I went into management and then sales I thought the same thing😂✊🏿
@@ElevateToTheUnknown thank you for that and sounds like you got good problems then lol
The degrees you mentioned aren't necessarily useless if you had a good plan for them. Just add minors in areas like computer science and accounting. This will add the hard skills needed that can look good on a job search. Also, be sure to have great internship, externships, and relevant work experience. This will get you a job in government and various companies. There are many companies that don't really care what your degree it in. You can even break into IT. A liberal arts degree teaches you how to communicate, speak, think, analyze, adapt, and a plethora of soft skills that can be used in any single work force. Also, various law, MBA, dental, and other professional programs will take you if you had these degrees. thus they can serve a great stepping stone.
Great points Pranav. Many people don't have a plan and the people telling them to go to college never had one either so they enter college without a plan and think life after should be easy. That's the furthest from the truth.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown Having a plan and a realistic one is important for any college degree. A liberal arts degree can be fine if you had one. It’s just that a lot of people don’t have one when they go in for one.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown I personally always found it frustrating the way my parents are when it comes to a liberal arts degree.
@@pranavpillai7778 it's up to you to prove them wrong and if you proved them wrong with a great career and salary then they should be very happy.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown yes. It seems like you are that kind of parent who smashes your child’s dreams. I’m going to law school.
Wait Wheres gender studies?
LOL. I'll do an updated video in 2022 and I am sure it will be included.
My degree is useless B.A Psychology!!!!
just minor in something useful. CS, Business, and accounting are good choices.
Half a mill.........sheesh
Its not uncommon at all. I remember when I thought it was a far reach but you'll see that the path to a salary like this is to be very close to the transactions that acquire new and existing customers to spend money and that is sales.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown im currently in school for a bachelors in IT with an associates in software developement. Do you think a business background would be necessary to elevate my earning potential?
I believe understanding how businesses work is very important but you don't need school to teach you that. You can start a business as a hobby and self teach yourself by trial and error. You can climb the corporate ladder with a company like I've chosen. You can get your MBA or you can read "the personal MBA" in your spare
time and learn the fundamentals of all businesses.
Map out a path to where you see yourself ultimately and make it happen. It's sounds like you are on a great path. Complete that first before piling on so many other things.
@@ElevateToTheUnknown What steps need to be taken in order to "climb the corporate ladder?" If you have a video on that, I'd be happy to support it. If not, it may be a great idea. Thank you for your replies
