I am working on my Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems and have taken SQL Level 1 as a requisite for the degree. I actually enjoyed SQL programming and the interaction with data and databases. With that said, I would like to become a DBA. What would be my best course of action to get that job without getting a Bachelor's? Certifications? Self learning? Any help would be much appreciated

Secondly apply for DBA internships as once you get experience you will be a great candidate once you graduate. Consider the Microsoft dp 300 cert as well. Look into it.

Hey Dorian, you answered your own question in a sense. The skills that you listed are all the fundamental skills needed for a DBA as they are working with larger and larger sets of data. Python is the perfect code for larger data sets and analysis. Aws and Azure for cloud. You need an understanding of this as these larger datasets are stored in the cloud. Pl/SQL is a must... you can't be DBA without knowing SQL. The soft skills you will need are effective communication, detail oriented, etc...

The az 104 isn't for a DBA is more for a system admin on azure. If you are wanting to become a DBA then dp -300. This is the associate level.
