- It's just as important to know how you want to end your raw selvedge denim journey as much as the start. When it comes to raw denim, there are two main tints when it comes to selvedge denim jeans; green cast denim and red cast denim. Knowing which jeans you want to fade will allow you to take control of how you wish to conduct your denim wardrobe, and allow you to put together outfits with precision and color coordination.

Greencast pre-fades. Redcast post-fades. The yellow that comes from green looks dirty to me

can green and red cast worn as double denim, will it look good together from fresh new and throughout their fading stages?
I know the Samurai S500AX 18OZ. "AI PLUS" use both synthetic and natural indigo, so you do get that heavy gradient in color, especially as it wears down. They look pretty cool to me!
@@AlejandroJomar i mean if i wear a brand new grencast jeans will it go nicely with a brand new redcast denim jacket, and will they hopefully fade differently enough to compliment each other? Or will they clash and one will look cold greenblue hue as they fade and the other would look warm blue as they fade and would look clashing color wise? Thanks
I would actually think it’d be better to wear the two separate casts as it could add depth to the outfit. Typically though my rule of thumb is for double denim, the darker denim should be the jeans, and the jacket should be the lighter or more vibrant. So in my head, I think it would be a redcast jean and a green cast jacket, as green cast typically starts off a bit lighter. Hope this helps! 🙏🏽
i prefer green cast but dont mind either. i think oni denim are known for green cast denim
Oni’s have an absolutely BEAUTIFUL denim, and I totally agree, they definitely speak green cast to me! My next cop HAS to be the 20oz green casts from them 👀

@@AlejandroJomar - Yes, they’re calling them the Greencast Slub. They’re a re-issue of the MIJ3 fabric. They officially drop on Friday, but they only made 300 pairs. I managed to order early from Blue Owl, and they were already delivered. That particular fabric is out of this world, and I think this release may be right up your alley, if you can get your hands on a pair. I understand, though, that the forthcoming MIJ12 will also be greencast, so you will most certainly get another shot if you miss this one.
