I really enjoyed your video. I live 8 miles from Suwannee River in Live Oak.I have always wanted to travel from the mouth to the Gulf. Too old for it now. So I just lived vicariously thru your video.Thank you..
What a great video 🤗 I luved the trip ! So beautiful and serene. My parents often talked about the well house. I was born in Live Oak … when I ran across your post and river trip it makes me want to go see it all. Thank you so much
Lovely video. Loved the karst and seeing the Alapaha rise. I live near Jennings and often visit the dead River sink where the Alapaha goes underground before re emerging where you were!
Alapaha Rise is interesting. Its connected to 10 other springs that flow clear at lower water levels. Holton creek is also an alapaha rise for instance. The land around it is my camping property.
I could not resist commenting just 18 minutes into your video. I am really enjoying it. Thank so much for the video. The scenery has been very good. I can't wait to get down there on the water. I am pretty sure I am coming down in late January. I just do not know wether to bring a plastic canoe or risk bringing a nice Kevlar canoe. What do you suggest?
If your going into the area that is BELOW White Springs and the river gage at White Springs is over that magical 52 foot mark and you use a little caution, That high dollar Kevlar will be fine. Having said that, there is no real reason I can think of to hazard a Kevlar boat on that river. No portages below White Springs, few shoals, gentle current. Plastic boat just fine. Have fun. Don't forget to make the river camp reservations if you plan on using those facilities. This is the high season on this river.
We loved your video, the quality of your shots are amazing! What video settings did you use? We would really like to know, the wife and I are planning this same trip in April of 2021. Let us know, Thanks!
This whole video was shot using an Olympus Tough TG 4. And to keep it simple, I just used the AUTO settings. I took the stills with a Nikon D7100 and believe it or not, a Samsung 9s cell phone. Enjoy the trip. This could easily be done in 2 to 2 and half days, but I really stretched it out.
I do. But for these paddle trips I print out the paddle trail maps from the respective states paddle trails websites. I would rather have paper maps and a compass with me because it has been my experience that the electronics will fail when you need them.

What kind of padding boat you using?
The boat is a Hobie Revolution. Makes live so much simpler
Do you have a navigation map on your phone?
