DIY Non-Toxic Concentrated Laundry Detergent

Basic recipe by weight:
1 part Detergent bar soap, shredded
2.5 parts Borax
2.5 parts Baking Soda
Store in an air-tight container. Use 1 Tbsp per wash load.

In contrast, mainstream detergents are formulated to rinse cleanly. Soaps deposit scum which traps dirt and harbors bacteria. Scum leads to fabrics which are dingy, smelly, coarse and water repellent. Science, not opinion.
