Gonna buy the Zenbook now for studying, I'm so excitet for it to be here. Was looking for a dock option too, and I found it: The VariDrive! :D Thx Linux, I didn't know of the Varidrive, you always tells me what I need ;) Wish I lived in canada or the US, so I could support you guys more :) You're doing an awesome job you and Slick, thank you, that was all, bye computer gurus :D
Yes It can run bus powered with the exception of the video adapter component for which it does require the included power adapter. I have also learned that the VariDrive is now windows 8 compatible
There are some decent Ultabooks out there, but the issue with them is the price, and the lack of USB ports. Why not have 4 USB ports and an SD Card reader ?
Watching using the first Zenbook. Even now its still rocking the house and i sure will change for another Asus Ultrabook. Benn using Asus product since my begining building computer and its still the best stuff i ever bought!
As far as I can tell, the ASUS UX32VD is the only/first ultrabook with a dedicated video card, GT620M, although it appears to not be available outside of the US
FYI, I have the Zenbook and VariDrive, The Video components do not work with the Zenbook. According to ASUS, "The ASUSVariDrive (sic) is designed for windows 7, so we do not support in in (sic) windows 8 officially."
I haven't seen the silver version of the ux31a touchscreen only the radian black version I was wondering if you know where to get this current version .
Because I don't want to deal with having to install Windows on it through boot camp and keeping 2 OSes up to date. Especially when I have to deal with about 20 laptops and 40 desktops.
So if I get a Asus UX32VD, or G46VW(New 14" Notebook) I can hook them up to this, and play Movies with it right? I'm new getting into all of this tech stuff.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but an Optical Drive is basically a DVD Player Correct? Also which of these Ultrabooks would ya recommend?UX32VD, Samsung Series 9, Lenovo Idea Pad X1 Carbon, or any others that ya would recommend(Anything, but Apple). So I'm open to mostly any choices.
just got mine...X31A
i never considered asus as a worthy option
but when I saw x31a, i was completely impressed
gr8 work asus

An optical drive could describe anything from a cd, all the way up to a blu-ray drive. However, the general idea is a DVD drive.

03:19: It actually adds only one USB port (the device is connected to the computer via USB).
Great job Linus, this is the best television!
that unit look really good
asus is seriously bringing the heat. samsung, corsair, are really doing it big aswell
'You can touch it, whenever that's appropriate...'
Ultrabooks are truly meant to be used with leapmotion, not touch. ASUS knows this and is why they partnered with them.

thats nice but im more interested in a refresh of the UX32VD as its a ultrabook with a dedicated gpu in it
0:26 to skip the ad!
Top notch stuff. Like his videos!
As long as the drivers work, you should be fine doing that.
SO MUCH TO WATCH
LinusDatingTips "You can touch it.. when that's appropriate"
Great review the wife is looking for a light weight laptop looks great
what's with the random footage at the start of every video ? 0:18
What stops you from using an Air in a 'corporate' environment? I work in i.t and carry my MacBook between sites daily.
ERMERGERD this is awesome. But they should have put a 500gb 2.5" hdd in the dock!
To the right of the zenbook touch is that a smaller 11 inch version?
Is the VariDrive included with the Zenbook? Because mine came with the usb extensions for those features or are those still the ones included.
I haven't seen the silver version of the ux31a touchscreen only the radian black version I was wondering if you know where to get this current version .
Wow, that laptop is slim!
They kind of go together, but they kind of don't. lol so inspiring
No long black screen at the end of this one?
Can the VariDrive run bus powered without the expansion part attached or does it require AC at all times?
People can actually use it in a corporate environment?
Please tell us about availability of i7 model.I was looking for this one about three months and nobody knows when they want to sell i7 version.
What happen to Cisco????

Wouldn't t it (the dock) be more portable if it was flat?
Sponsors; it even says they are being sponsored by them for the CES trip.

i love asus!
whats the refresh rate on that monitor?
by answering, you do.
If you didn't enjoy the video, dislike it. Charity shouldn't be a priority. Those who want/can donate to charity will.
is it just me or does it look if they put a color filter over the video?
Super Versatile Computing SVC tm

I will install linux on it :>
*puts hand over keyboard, says can you see the backlight now that my hand is covering it. lol
Why use CD when you can use thumb drives. This is a step backwards or most likely milking the consumers for more money.
ASUS Zenbook Prime - The Incredible Ultrabook
Do you believe in love at first sight? :)
ASUS > all other note book companies.
GTX680 Z enbook? Make it happen ASUS!
that awkward moment at the end haha
I'd rather the varidrive not have that optical drive... who uses that on a PC these days anyway...
5000$ thats reely expensive.

Dafuq Linus, CES ain't all about ASUS.. but seriously enough.
