Mini Cooper S R53 gets a new Exhaust and sounds Awesome!

- It's finally time to give the MCS R53 a new voice with an upgraded exhaust from Malian. This is their 2.5" cat-back performance sports stainless system which is not only great in quality but also value for money. It has added so much character to the little Mini and I love that the pops and burbles are now actually audible.

That blue and white is quite a great delft combination and sounds sublime
If you are going to work on a MINI, I strongly suggest a set of ratcheting wrenches as there are a lot of places (like the top exhaust bolt) where you can only fit a wrench (not a socket) and being able to ratchet is priceless.
100%!!! The recent wrap job required removal of the external door handles....wish I had a set for that job.....horrible design 😄

Very naice again. Much better sound and look over the stock tips. Looking forward to the next vid. ( cars are so clean compared to Dutch cars with all the salt in the winter )
Id like an almond green wrap. With stainless wrap mirrors and white roof. Someday. Some how. 😅

It might look that way, but an 18 year old Mini certainly has some maintenance issues....a video for another day maybe 😄
That MINI was clean underneath! I put the OEM JCW exhaust on one of my R53 MINIs, but the best sound is by far from my R53 with the Malian exhaust. Funny, because it is a lot cheaper than the JCW set...

I might also be interested in a full combo but it says on their website that they are out ot stock. Do you know if they are still making them, even for a later order.

11 MOS later...do you still like the tone, how is it on the highway. Does it have the typical "Magnaflow" type of drone heard inside the car on the highway ?
Still love the tone, no major drone. Have extractors to go on the car soon. Will update with a video when I do the install 👍
I know this is an old video, but we just picked up a 2006 Mini Cooper S. Been looking at this exhaust, but I’m interested their race version. I can’t find a sound clip of it to save my life. Every RUclips video is of the sport version 😔
Not that it will help, but I have the headers at the shop ready to install 😀

How did you get the system to perth,as i have tried to order and they keep telling me they dont send this system from warehouse.

Sorry but have a mini of that series, 04 supercharged and that exhaust is mild. Nice looking on a car show but not really delivering performance

Sounds great looking at doing the same. How is it at highway speeds, 6th gear 100-120km/h (70mph) drone/loud?
Yours is product Mal-086, any experience with the race version Mal-070?

At highway speeds it settles down nicely with little to no drone. It really just wakes up in the higher rpm.
Haven't tried the 070 sorry.
I installed the race version (MAL-070) on my cooper S but I regret it, the noise is too loud it has a lot of vibrations inside very unpleasant for daily use. for racing use the flow is probably better but useless to ride every day in my opinion.
I like this, not too noisy, but sounds nice.

These cars are a future classic. Anything after 2007 2nd gen. No one will want them. Rubbish cars....
