    yallllllllll I'm getting mine the exact same one, CBR650R Grand Prix Red with the eclutch in 2-3 weeks. I've ordered 3 months ago here in australia melbourne, and I've been waiting since. I just turned 18 this december 27th and got my license. I just wanna use the bike as it is, no mods nothing. Wanna take the enjoyment of riding a pure extraordinary piece of art from Honda. I am gon upload my first ride and all that once I get the bike. (I will update this comment when I do). Hopefully I dont die, and again IM HELLA EXCITED. It's going to be my primary mode of transport since I dont even have a car licence and cant get one until the june of this year so yeah, will be driving it for 50 km a day to and from my university. wish me luck😊. And, an amazing review man. Love the content, just subbed

    You can't take the clutch off completely as there are times you need to feather the clutch, especially when moving slowly around obstacles. And for this reason, it's why e-clutch is disengaged the minute you pull the clutch in.

    I've never come off a ride with my Goldwing Tour DCT and thought, "Gee, that ride would have been so much better if I could have been shifting the entire time." The Goldwing DCT is so good. Put it in sport mode and go tear up some mountain passes. (And for you not in the know, you sure can tear up a mountain pass on a Goldwing.)
    If I feel I need to go really fast while shifting I can hop on my K1600GTL. That is a fast touring bike. (0-60 the Goldwing can stay with it.) I get to shift the entire time, but do have pro shift assist. That is cool. Once moving you never have to use the clutch.
    Honda nailed the DCT and clutchless thing a long, long time ago.
    As to Honda doing Honda things. I've got almost 200,000 miles on Goldwings. I had a flat tire once. Back in the day I had a V-65 Sabre for twenty years. Oil, tires, and batteries. That's it.

    I don't understand why people are drooling over an electronic auto clutch... I rather use the clutch levers is it that difficult? I never felt clutch was a chore to begin with... What i would have preferred is a cruise control.. Which would have been a boon for long journey in the highways

      This bike is a God Send for all riders, especially those who are tired of clutching a bike and just want to ride. Not to mention, for gaining new, hesitant riders, due to having to use a clutch. Not everyone enjoys using a clutch. Wait for it!! The best part is that for those, like yourself. You can use the clutch whenever you want, like always, or did you miss that part?

    As much as i am impressed with the new motorcycle technology, the bikes i actually go out and buy are the ones that don't even have ABS. Something about the raw mechanical connection between you and machine makes everything that you do feel that much more exiting. I don't want to be more comfortable or to be going faster, I want to be a ww2 pilot. The loudness, the smell, the smoke the feel of the old bikes is just a different zone compared to the new super precise computerized 2 wheeled cars.

    A clutch you can use still yourself…that’s a HUGE distinction between the bmw SMG and Ferrari etc. ppl would be INFINITELY happier with the single clutch/SMG cars if they had the ability to still drive full manual.
    It’s that missing third pedal that destroys those cars. This approach is infinitely better.

    I agree with your comment about cruise control. Honda is missing the mark. They wouldn't be able to fit it to this bike since it has a cable throttle (they should have upgraded it to RBW but that's another story for another day) but even their newest CB1000 Hornet doesn't have cruise control. The MT09 SP has cruise control so why doesn't the Hornet? Honda make great solid bikes but they are dropping the ball a bit when it comes to properly finishing their new bikes. Like the CB750 Hornet is apparently amazing to ride but it looks so budget. I cross shopped the CB750 Hornet and CB650R earlier this year and ended up buying the CB650R because it just looks so much nicer. Not just the plastics and "styling" elements but the attention to detail like the beautiful engine casing, the quality swingarm and even just the silhouette of the bike. The CB750 Hornet didn't hit any of those key design features and as a result it's just an ugly bike that rides really well. I love my CB650R so no regrets for me but I am watching Honda release these corner cutting bikes one after the other and I'm just shaking my head. When I am finally ready to upgrade I might have to get a Yamaha because at least they are giving us all the bells and whistles like 6 axis IMU, cruise control, nice graphics on the display, well thought out design etc (I'm referring to the MT09 SP). C'mon, Honda! Stop cutting corners and give us a bike that not only rides well but also looks quality and has all the bells and whistles!

    • @blueberrywilbur315
      @blueberrywilbur315 3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah all of the Japanese makers have different thoughts about electronics Honda being particularly weird. Also Honda absolutely doesn’t cut corners they make a solid reliable product that rarely fails. They just are slow with electronics they believe in riders riding the bike but indeed it’s weird sometimes.

    I wouldn't take it if it was no clutch but completely automatic. I mean its my personal opinion and I dont blame honda nor am I pointing you out but just the feel of a motorcycle comes from the clutch. yk like letting it go to the point and starting to loosen the clutch and accelerating and all that, its the feel of the bike not something as a drawback. At the same time, if you are tired from work or anything like that and you gotta travel in traffic in the city or anywhere, you might want it to be automatic transition system that is, no cramping of your left hand palm. Well, that is my opinion about it and hopefully, it remains like that.

    Ppl consider the 650R way overpriced. They don’t understand the bike quality is great and the inline 4 will always cost more.
    The cb750 Hornet is a couple thousand dollars less money than this 650 despite making much more power & more torque way lower down.
    That’s because the p twins are much cheaper to make and unfortunately Honda lowered the quality standards and materials etc on every single part of that bike.
    If Honda would make a GSX-R 750 or 800 variant of this it would sell much more and not cost much more to make at all
