My heart skipped a beat when I saw the old A frame. Man you had some amazing times in that old trailer. Thanks for another great video Slim. Stay safe wherever you are today. Cheers!!!
We needed this video to remind us of the happiness out there and not the isolation in our houses right now. I enjoyed traveling on your adventure with you.
Bend isn't a "little town" anymore, Slim! If you continue to have problems with your Jeep, maybe it's time to trade it in for a more rugged road vehicle. At least you broke down on a pleasant day. Time for a stroll in the woods.......uh-oh, here comes Yogi & Boo-Boo :)> Great video!
I am glad you found this video. I'm planning on a trip to the USA (I live in Europe) and renting an RV and driving up and down the west coast. Oregon is of great interest to me. As always your video was very enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
Checking your water pump...Turn the engine off..If you can grab your fan with both hands move it forward & back and left to right ..if there is play in the shaft that usually means your water pump is going bad. That's how we did it years ago I think this still works today. I am 68 years old and changed four water pumps in my time it was no big deal as long as you have the right tools..New water pump you should also change your thermostat and check your belts/pulleys/hoses/coolant . Don't depend on your local mechanic to do the right thing for you. Thank you for the video.
Very nice! What I really enjoy is all of the fun facts I learn about watching your videos...things I might never discover in a book, and without saying the beautiful landscape you film...thank you!
After only a week of no travel, I’m missing camping so much. I may need to use my trailer in the garage! Thanks for the reminder of what’s out there. Beautiful scenery and monsters!
Thank you Slim for finding this for us. While the world shuts down it is imperative artists like you keep our sanity intact. Stay safe and tell all your viewers to stop hoarding the toilet paper :P
I agree, with all the chaos of the Corona virus, it's nice to travel thru Oregon with you and see that cute Killer Chipmunk, lol. Hope your repair bill wasn't too bad.
With all the people hoarding rice, pasta and toilet paper, I guess there is one takeaway; with what I know about digestion, half of the hoarders still won't have enough, and the other half won't be taking a crap until long after the pandemic is over.
Thank you so much for this beautifull countryside 💚hère in France we stay inside since tuesday so what a pleasure to see your vidéo 💚be carefful everybody
me too... still live in Oregon. North Coast. lived in Bend, Pendleton, Medford, Portland. To bad he did not check out the rest of the state. As we know. There is so much to see and do. Around the rest of the state. Many wonderful magical places are here.
💖Enjoyed the throw back,, I still have my Aliner, but Will keep up with your new RV because you are so good sharing your videos of the 'wide open spaces' Thank you !!
Hi Sllim. I really enjoy your videos. I have an Aliner camper, which I just purchased two months ago. Your tips on successful travel in an Aliner have be very helpful. The real reason I enjoy watching you is because you easily blend with your surroundings and have such a pure gentle relationship with nature. I'm an older camper just getting started on the trailer adventures. You've been an inspiration , thanks so much.
Life on the edge, eh? I do love traveling with you - you take us all to such cool places. Thanks for the ride - we will all be on the lookout for engine eating chipmunks!
Nice to have seen Abner one more time, kudos on the killer squirrel shot it was a delightful bit of a brevity and it would be interesting to know what other critter capers Slim's encountered in future.
I had a (technical) project in Bend, OR not that long ago. Interesting and pretty area. Sadly, never explored much when I traveled for business. I appreciate your comments about instinct. That “feeling” has saved me a few times. Oh my, a shoe tree...LOL. That tow truck driver was great to drop your camper at a Camp site - well, you did have insurance! Lovely interlude and music. I always learn something from every video you post. Thank you for this return trip video!
So many memories. We toured Oregon in 2015 along the coast road, over to Eugene, Bend, on to Baker City, Le Grande & Pendleton then along the Columbia River back to Portland. Two of the most special weeks of my life. Hopefully 2021 will see us back there. Thank you for posting and bring back so many memories.
I watched this yesterday but it saddened me to watch since it was a time before the world went crazy and shut down. But I fell better today after going to a grocery store and there was food on the shelves and no panic buying. No toilet paper, but no panic buying. Thanks for posting the videos and it was no bad you broke down again.
Slim, I'd like to tell you just how much I enjoy your videos and the incredible story-telling. I started the video but had to do something in the kitchen so I turned up the volume and just listened to your story. Now I have to watch it! Thanks!
Thanks, Mr. Slim ... your videos are such joys to watch. This one is a gem especially during these stressful times. Stay safe, keep healthy and be happy💖
THANK YOU for using maps. I love to visually see where you are when you show us what it looks like. Thank you for maps...love them for orientation...:-)
Perfect timing Slim for a video of uplifting content 👍 . Always look forward to your weekly videos, ...from one of your viewers and fans from the land down under.
I love your videos!! I have traveled quite a bit in the west and it’s always a thrill to be able to revisit it through your eyes and your camera lens. What a privilege to be able to go along with you in these fun jaunts. Thank you so much!!
Thanks for another high quality video. Loved the shots of the Oregon Grape. Your calmness in the face of adversity is a great lesson for all right now, and the call back to nature and adventure is always a needed reminder.
Aaaaah ... last fall ... It was a good time here too ... With spring upon us we should be thinking about getting out and exploring again ... but now ... parks are closing ... Many people are afraid to make plans ... Traveling seems to be on the back burner for now, but I'm so glad we can still look back and remember with great videos. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories of last fall.
Another pleasant video! Gently and beautifully enabling anyone inclined to watch and absorb! Thanks Mr. Slim Potatohead! Hope your efforts on the new trailer are going smoothly! Look forward to seeing your next video !
Hello Slim, thanks for the wonderful video. Glad the jeep wasn't too bad. I was a mechanic throughout my years. I do know there are issues with different brands but like you I do not try to put blame for a breakdown on Brand. I tell others that 'if man built it, it is subject to failure without any given notice', it the human factor, lol. One thing I learned over the years is mechanical things can and will break.
That was a fun find, it's nice sometimes to not watch them all in a row, I like suprises! What a beautiful ride, sorry about your jeep though. You sure do have some great luck too, especially the tow guy dropping you off at a camp site, very cool. Now I want to see Oregon. Thanks for a wonderful video!🌟
I've traveled all over eastern Oregon training and installing equipment for my company and there are very great and kind people living in eastern Oregon. I am proud to say I've lived here for 77 years with them
Thank you, Slim for publishing this video as it has been a pleasant & relaxing escape from all the Coronavirus related happenings/news/rumor/etc. I especially like the maps; it helps me visualize where you are & where you are going.
Wow, Slim - I really needed that. This was a real treat in the middle of all of this stress. The scenery and photography was just beautiful! I am at high risk for COVID-19 and self-isolating. I really hope that I make it through this crisis and can again travel out west. It is so beautiful.
A lot of times when you put new belts and tensioners on a system the weakest bearing will go next, P/S, Alt, or W/P. It may cost more but get the W/P and tensioners with pulleys done also so you have all under warranty. Great video and your a natural!
Thank you as this was the perfect video to watch while sheltering in place. Needed the nature and could even smell the freshness of the stream. Thank you so much.
When you broke down at 7:47 that happens to be Strawberry Mountain in the Malheur National Forest looming over and behind your jeep - a beautiful area and I had a fantastic hike up to that summit in summer 2018.
Great video, Slim!! Well done and you could be another Garrison Keller with your story telling and living wisdom. My wife and I have a class C camper and she loves the thing. We travel weeks at a time in it. Secretly, I was happiest on my motorcycle, traveling and camping. The Woodlands, Texas
Thanks for the video Slim. You do inspire me to go camping. Love all of your videos. So relaxing for me. We need more good people like you in this world. Stay safe, healthy and happy buddy.
Thank you for showing us this as well as be safe when and if you are going to travel. I think you'd be safe from the virus out boondocking. God bless slim❤🌍🙏 so much fun nature beauty!
Thanks for the great video of my state's back yard. Good shot of the Oregon Grape, and I hope that deer signed a release to be on the video. If you're ever in that neck of the woods again, there are some great campgrounds north of Camp Sherman along the Metolius River, low rates for overnight stays.
Thanks Slim for sharing your great video production, glad you were able to get your Liberty on the road again and doubt that you could find a better place to be stranded. Stay healthy and keep camping.
I really appreciate your videos slim. It’s so calming, relaxing, & fun to watch. Thanks again for all your hard work putting these amazing videos together. Stay safe Slim during the coronavirus outbreak. Maybe now is a good chance to go do some camping in the Canadian outback.
Slim you are AWESOME! You have no idea how much i enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for the work you put into them. Guess your not supposed to pass lumber trucks on an incline. Too bad about the jeep. Has to be very frustrating!
Thank you so much for this video ,something to bring a smile to my face , I'm 62 and i have plan's of going nomad by this time next year ,Thank you again 😊
On the subject of people living in RVs. We have this in Europe as well of course and house dwellers are forever bitching about them, claiming they bring crime etc. However when I see a cluster of RVs with people obviously living in them I think to myself how much more damaging to the environment would be a small town housing those people. If people want to live in RVs then well and good. There will be good and bad people living in RVs just as there are good and bad people living in houses.
Ahh my home state. Glad you put this up...a little sanity in trying times. Have had multiple problems with rodents camping in the engine of my rig. Thanks Slim , you're a gem.
from south africa..... you looked tremendously happy in your egg, but personally, i'm gonna miss the A.... it was unique.... yip..... different.... something about camping in something different strikes a harmonious chord with me... my camper, i built over a weekend, in my neighbour's driveway, cause mine is sloped, consists of a canvas rooftop tent, mounted on a 2m flat trailer, but the tent does not fold up... kinda sa's first, one and only canvas caravan .... my next project is a 3 wheeled scooter delivery van witha rooftop tent and backpacking gear.... its about having fun.....
You had on one of your video about building you camper, I like camping getting back to nature, I’m not hard core like you. I like a camper with a full bath and a kitchen and AC as needed.but I see the appeal of basic camping. You have a good presence in front of the camera and your well spoken.
Well this video was helpful to me, like all of them, but it just cheered me up because of what I'm going through like many others. Being stuck indoors where I don't want to be. Thank you Slim!
Great video again, thanks Slim. Bummer about the Jeep. I love Jeeps. I've owned 4 in the last 20 years and sadly each one was less reliable than before, until I finally left the marque for good. Glad they got you going again fairly quickly. Drive safe and keep healthy, from a Boise subscriber.
I was born and raised in Oregon. I never heard of the Humongous Fungus. Of course I had to go read about it. Glas you are back on the road again. Interesting video. Thank you.
Nice watching this lost goody while sheltering at home.....stay healthy everyone.....

*The "Humongous Fungus" sounds like the beginnings of a great story for a SciFi movie!*

There Chipmunks not Squirrels.
I LOL'd!!
I think your squirrel ate your water pump

Great post SP. Brought a smile to my face. Keep on adventuring.
Love the tennis shoe tree. I don't think the botanists have recorded it, yet.
I wanted to say thanks. I learn something new every vid. Also the beauty across the lands.
Thank you Slim for helping us get our nature fix - we are currently not even allowed to visit the park let alone get out of the city.

Almost at 100k! Congrats Slim!
Are you sure that was a shoe tree? Looked like a “pair” tree to me... 😄
Broadsword 66 Haven’t you watched Avatar? That’s the ‘Tree of Soles”.
LMAO 😂
Great! Funny!
Isn't that wonderful that some fans happened to drive by!
I could really use some of Slims patience and optimism. Kudos to him.
Great story teller...love you editing...great videos...always look forward to your videos!
Love that chipmunk! The gems are most always in the unexpected. "A chip on the old block!"
I look forward to watching each new, educational vid. Thanks
I was born and raised in Oregon. I never heard of the Humongous Fungus. Of course I had to go read about it. Glas you are back on the road again. Interesting video. Thank you.
One of your best. SO glad you found it and shared!
