Interesting, first time hearing someone complain about the headlight being too big. But I think it’s perfect. I used to think they look sad, but I got used to it and think they are unique now.
I saw this vid and didn't like that he, the owner/vlogger, he doesn't like those gorgeous headlights. I loved them the moment i first saw them. Personally, i dislike the front lights on all the newer 1-series models.
agreed. I can understand if he had pre lci's but lci have the eyebrow with led bar making it look much crispier and proportionate which is why I retrofitted it to my 135 along with the OEM 1m front body kit.
I own the same 135i but from 2011, I simply love the car, I've installed MHD tune and the difference is huge, 135s have some issues but they're pretty fun to drive, also if you take care of it its pretty confy
For the viewers, the power window could be from a tired motor, or other things that trigger high load; A used power window motor for instance will draw more power (creating a higher load that trips the sensor...), and/or other things like worn battery power, or low alternator output, or bad ground(s) or corrosion somewhere, very cold outdoor temps also, among other things lower the CCA of the car battery and that will trip the voltage/load sensor .. or simply it could be just slightly overly tight window guides, thats what fixed mine.. The issue you have with the stereo is interesting to hear it hasnt happened to mine, but now that i think about it, what i've experienced twice was where i was pressing the volume up button on the steering wheel once and the volume jumped up maybe 3 notches which is very noticeable when at higher levels lol! Oh, and if parked outside in the summer, the screen fades until the AC cools it eventually.
I just recently got a 135i and the windows are starting to get annoying and I'm not sure if it's the same issue, with possibly the battery or alternator, but when I have my AC on and come to a stop the car bogs down pretty hard and almost stalls out. Any thoughts would be great.
I’ve owned my 135 for about 2 years and literally the only thing I agree with is the cup holders. Could think of multiple other things that are more annoying
@@nickpiteo9592 still have mine. It’s a n55. Absolute great car. Comfortable. Fast. Has a tune and hasn’t affected the reliability. Typical bmw of the time. Plastics exposed to heat under the bonnet aged. Eg radiator, water pump, thermostat ect. But I’d absolutely by again with no hesitation.
The window thing was the same on the e36 coupe as well. Not a bug, it's a feature. It does it while driving for some safety reason. No need to go nuts about it. What you do you click it up while going down to stop it then click again and hold to go all the way up. Probably the wind puts enough force on the window to think you're catching your hand in the window.
@@boostedbijan yes, sometimes it does that. Usually while driving, especially at speed or windy conditions. Slow down and it'll work fine. Most frameless BMW do the same. The E36 has a switch that when the door is closed, it gets pressed. So it raises back the window. Or, vice versa. On my dad's E36, if the car was parked at an angle, sometimes the weight of the door would hang outwards and make the switch not click properly. It was a matter of maybe half of mm or maybe 1mm clearance. That made the door not raise or lower the window as needed. This issue is found only on coupes or frameless window door BMWs. I don't know if they used the same system past the E36, but they did on that one and it was annoying. We had to adjust the door for that half millimiter, which is a pain. It could as well be that the switch plastic got wear and tear after years of using.
you should look into the "tunai firefly". on god its the best purchase ive made for my 135, makes bluetooth so fast and doesnt change the sound quality at all
The cupholder / armrest for non-small cups is a bummer. you're nuts about the lights, the steerable lights are amazing and look sublime. Better than all other models. I hope you never look closely at a Merc or other Teutonic machine. Sell it bro, they are the last-great-bmw and sooooo sought after.
Yea the armrest is annoying but I love the steering headlights! Hate the look though lol. I love the headlight on the e92 m3. Thin, sleek, simple. I've definitely considered selling it with how hot the market is right now.
There ain't any way drinks are staying in their cups when I'm in my 135i ....the window thing is a fault...doesn't happen to me...there is no sensor. It's based on the resistance as the window goes up. Lube the mechanism and make sure the rubber seals have silicone..
That window bug is odd, the only time I’ve seen mine reverse direction is if I turn off the ignition while the window is still rolling up. My stereo bug is different, it doesn’t like playing Bluetooth audio. The only way it works reliably is if I have whatever I want to listen to already playing on my phone when I go to turn on the car. If I turn on the car and then go to pick something to listen to no audio plays even though the song is progressing on my phone. Repairing my phone fixes the problem for one journey but then the problem comes back next time I start the car. I agree the cup holders a are annoying. The rest though, I love the headlights, my exhaust tips have never fallen off, at least not yet 🤞, and Ive never been bothered by the plastic diffuser. The only other annoyance I have with the car is the lack of an exterior manual trunk release. The only way into the trunk, where the battery lives, is through various electric switches. So if the battery dies you better hope that trunk is open or the rear seats are folded down or else you have get it attached to an external power source to access the battery… 🤦♂️
That issue with the Bluetooth, any time my bluetooth messes up I just swap to another radio mode with the button on the I drive and switch back, fixes it almost every single time and it doesn't happen again for a long time.
I have to disagree I didn't really know to much about this car when I bought it. I needed a car asap and it was in my price range so I bought it sight unseen actually. Any way after a few weeks of having it I realized this car is really a beautiful design. Although mines convertible
@@upop53 I think the 1 series looks really nice in every other way (especially the rear end), it's just the headlights. Regardless one of the greatest BMWs ever.
my rear view mirror goes down about an inch every night and i have to adjust every morning. so weird. my windshield wipers love to chatter. only brand that doesn't is piaa when they are brand new. after 6m though they chatter.
Here for science... looking at chassis swapping one of these with my e21 320i. Seems like most the complaints won't apply. Not using the headlights, doing a custom console and keeping manual windows
There’s like 2/3 reasons mainly the cup holder then the music I haven’t experienced the window problem the other 2 are just opinion nice quality vid tho
4:30window issue sounds like a binding friction issue. The frameless window is binding on the rubber gasket on the door frame. Try treating the seal with a good quality rubber conditioner.
That's a lot of miles man, I'd recommend checking if the turbo has been replaced. 150-200k miles is about as long as I've heard of the turbos lasting with good care.
So they were 235 40 18 rs pro front. And 265 35 18 rs pro rear. Unfortunately the rim sizing is fuzzy. I BELIEVE it was: 18x8.5 40 Offset front And 18x9.5 58 offset rear. Arc-8 satin black. I’m 90% sure that’s correct lol
You’re 100% correct. There’s other smaller things but that car was super reliable to me. Loved it. But the cupholders are way more annoying than you realize. Anytime I got food out with my girl I would have to float my elbow above the drinks so I won’t accidentally elbow it and knock it over lol.
N55 ones are very reliable. I put 30k miles on one, and between my friends and I we have experience with three other N55 135s. At 100k be prepared to change the water pump and radiator but that's about it. $300 for a radiator job and $700 for a water pump job.
Wow 150k is a lot. The motors can last 200-250k miles or more depending on how they were taken care of. If this 150k Mike example is very clean with records and no issue AND it’s a good deal. It may be worth it. My biggest worry would be compression, rod bearings and turbo health.
Also the window problem is super norm ya didnt look hard enough its not a sensor your acuator is going bad. Sheeesh some people havnt owned a bmw and it shows, alot of coupes deal with this issue
It’s funny, I Had two shops look at it, both said the actuator was fine because it’s going up and down. They said some 1ers have this gremlin. It’s such a weird issue lol
@@boostedbijan its def the actuator lol if its bugging out on auto up and down is a DEAD giveaway,(not dead yet but going out soon) you're welcome, shops just hate taking door panels off. they're only like 30$ a pop
I've done the reset which helps for a few weeks but it never goes away, unfortunately. The reset basically is, hold the window down buttons for 10 seconds, then immediately hold the window up buttons for 10 seconds. Hopefully, that helps for a while man.
Nah, the headlights add to the charm. This is the terrorist little brother of the M3. The plastic at the back however is unforgiveable, should have been carbon fibre. One of the best things about the 135i (other than pretty impressive performance) is that it looks UNIQUE. This is what classics are made of.
this dude is complaining about the stupidest shit.
I really like the look of the headlights on the 1 series coupe. think they fit the car perfectly
