    The original SL was actually called the SL 20 because it came out in 2020, and it was lighter than any version. Than the SL 20 version 2 came out some time after that with a higher stack height foam.

    Really enjoyed this review! Great to get a snapshot of the local flora and fauna along the way, although it’s a shame to hear what happened with the floods. I’m definitely going to buy a pair of the SL2. I’m new to running and these sound like a great entry level shoe, especially at the price! Thanks again and I’ve now subscribed to the channel.

    Great review Sam! Been enjoying your thoughts on running shoes since the early days when the channel was still a "sleeping giant"! What I enjoy the most though are the beautiful sceneries you run in and also off topic comments like the one about these flowers on the side of the road. Makes me feel you enjoy running not just for excercise purposes but also just for being out there, enjoying nature and your surroundings! Keep up the great work and stay healthy!

    Love your videos and this colorway looks great. I’ve seen two video reviews about adidas lately - this and the supernova rise by sagasu running and it seems like adidas is doing awesome things which is great. The adios 6 were so good for me a few summers ago but haven’t really used adidas in a while

    I found the comparison and low evaluation of version 1 of SL a little strange. For me, version 1 of the SL is excellent as a daily trainer for competitions with Takumi Sen and Adios Pro. I worry if the changes made this version 2 too soft, to the point that you compare it with the NB Rebel (A real butter in the midsole). It is precisely the firmness of Adidas sneakers that is their highlight, which generates the performance and energy return responsible for so many victories, especially in medium and long distance races, where these characteristics really make a difference.

      They will work although softness and flex may want you to alternate given mileage you mention with a not stiff stiff plated shoe. Also depends on your training paces. Which are?

  • @elliotendures
    @elliotendures 5 месяцев назад +1

    You talked a little about width, but could you compare those figures to something like the Adios 8? I’ve got slightly wide feet and some early reviews have suggested this won’t work.
    For example, Boston 12 felt narrow but Adios 8 works. I’m right on that edge of too wide.

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  5 месяцев назад

      Yes but for uptempo long Boston 12. For big cushion and super light weight if somewhat more awkward ride Superblast, somewhat same for Nova. Peg 41 is on the heavy side. Not in above uptempo to daily upcoming Noosa Tri and Neo Vista from Mizuno.

      Sure although I would race something else and of the others you mention Noosa Tri For general all around training SL then Mach 6 . For uptempo my preference is again Noosa Tri with Rebel close but very fore to midfoot strike focused as soft and 5mm drop.

      @@PSL09 The SL 20 was an uptempo shoe I believe, not a daily trainer. And not in in the Adizero series. The prizing was quite aggressive for the SL20. SL means super light by the way. I think it is slightly lighter than the SL. So it's more than just a name change. They killed the SL20 and made the SL line.
      Perhaps somebody can confirm this. Because I'm not so sure about this. I think the SL20 is still a thing.

I know they are in a different segments, but for reviews i can see they also have some similarities... Any thoughts that can help me decide which one to buy... Im 5'7 and 140lb with thin and narrow feet...

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  3 месяца назад +1

      Very different. Magic Speed 3 is plated, rigid and not as soft as SL2 which is softer and more flexible. For a 55 min 10k the SL 2 or unplated Noosa Tri 16 should be a better choice.

    • @RoadTrailRun

      Described in video. Unlike those very soft easy going more conventional mesh. Not the race lockdown but roomy comfortable. Midfoot hold could use some structure.

  • @CriticalThinker02
    @CriticalThinker02 5 месяцев назад

    How’s the outsole? I saw another review where the outsole was super rigid and plastic like.

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  5 месяцев назад +1

      It is a very decently flexible shoe, not rigid at all especially for an adidas. Without this type of outsole and as described in the video I think given the soft foams here it would not be stable and would have a mushy ride. The outsole gives it some pop and response but for sure this is a soft ride. So, Outsole is.well matched to the midsole Maybe a bit plasticky

    Adidas Adizero SL2 vs NB Rebel v4 for slow runner? And why?

    • @RoadTrailRun

      How "slow"? Clearly Adizero SL2 better at slower paces as it is higher drop with an easier flex. Rebel v4 is very soft at the heel if not run fast where it is a better shoe than the adidas. SL2
