Eddie passed away today. At least Eddie could say he did everything. Lived a full and successful life. Eddie was a survivor n a great guy.

I have total respect for this guy because he made his own guitar, with his own stripes, instead of trying to replicate Eddie’s 5150 guitar exactly. This guitar has more character and style and it stands out on its own!! He’s an awesome guitarist too, hehe!!!

Probably a few thousand covers of this out there by now. This is the cleanest one I have heard. Cleaner than Eddie has probably played it in a long time. Great job.

I used to play this a lot when gigging years ago, like a lot of others though, I got away from it, not really on purpose so much as my tastes and playing got to where I was getting into the hearts, rather than the ears of the listener. It's not something I decided or thought about; of course I love this piece, and this guy does it well. My mind goes back to a Mike Stern show in Cambridge, MA once...I was sitting there with my brother (our father was murdered when we were little)...and the band went into a slower piece (Mike can fly with the best of 'em though). He just pulled on my heart until the waterworks ran down my face. The band were watching me cry silently as they played; I looked at my brother who looked at me and I could see the gentle waterfall cascading down his face also. One of the most beautiful musical experiences I ever had.

" Man, that just ... to perfect to Eddie's studio recording " as if he was just going through the motions of playing that song!" But, at the very last 10 seconds ... it suddenly became so clear that he was and did actually play that song "note for note , hammer on for hammer on, tap for tap , bend for bend of Eddie's studio recording of Eruption! I'm sorry to say, guys like this one, who play at this level, are the reason I STOPPED playing. I would only embarrass myself. That's talent on another level. And the thing is, this guy is not all that rare. You can find examples of playing at this level, and even beyond, all over you tube. Those of us who can't do it, are mostly in awe of it. Pretty amazing that such talent is not as rare as it sounds like it would be. And it's not males only. There are 12 year old girls who can play like this. Yep

I stooped playing also but because of not much time and because I give priority to other things. These are people who sacrificed every free time when young in order to play guitar. And can you Immagine that they didn't had Internet and RUclips in order to have free lessons or someone show them teckniques. It was even difficult for a young person to hear the songs at low speed! But! AND THERE IS. .. BUT!!!. I hear (and I believe it) many persons on youtube comments, that have music education say that it isnt at all difficult play other people songs even if they seem a lot difficult. The difficult is to write your own music! These young persons are only papagals and nothing more. They seem great because the rest of us don't know how to play! I personally started because of the calming effect the music have. It is not necessary to play like these guys. You can learn a few songs and then work on them and add your kind of playing and feelings.

I should expand and generalize my point to cover all the virtuosos, who cause me to realize that I have no business putting time into the pursuit. I play pretty good blues, but the shredders and your flamenco guys, etc, are on another quantum level

'Spanish Fly' was like acoustic Eruption; great track, tho without all the electrified effects doesnt come off as nearly intense...
