  • TrailNewbie has a whole new look! Recently I took the Jeep to Disciple Off Road and had them install an EVO MFG 2.5" Enforcer Overland Lift Stage 2 w/ EVO Spec KING 2.5" Remote Reservoir Shocks with Compression Adjusters. But that's not all, I also got 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers along with something unique for the wheels. This video will take you on a quick journey from day 1 to the recent work I had done. (Episode 9 - 4/10/21)

    Hello,
    Love the jeep. I just bought a 2 door jl and was looking at this kit but not the reservoir shocks. I'm pretty close to disciples location, was it expensive to have them install it?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  2 года назад

      Hi! I think on labor: Disciple Off Road is solid. And with that, comes (honestly) the absolute best customer service/expertise you'll ever see in this arena. Most shops just expect you to know exactly what you're looking for and are hard to communicate with. Jeremy @ Disciple will hand-hold you through the deal and keep you very informed. He texts, shoot, he'll message you through FB or IG. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed with him. I'm in no way sponsored or paid to advertise. He's become a buddy, and I know quality work when I see it! Hope it works out for you well!

    What did the cost for the lift/shocks cost you? Nice build!

    • @TrailNewbie

      Great question, this was the following kit:
      EVO-3012S2K-CompAdjuster EVO MFG JL 2.5" ENFORCER OVERLAND LIFT STAGE 2 W/ EVO SPEC KING 2.5" SHOCKS
      Adjustable Track Bars: NO
      Compression Adjusters: YES
      $4,002.17
      It’s on the pricy side - I was given the green light for this from my wife because it was my 40th birthday (approx) so she told me to go all out. 🤣 Installation is not included in the cost above.

    Just wondering, why didn’t you go with the 3.6?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  2 года назад +1

      Hey George! Great question. At first I was like “3.6”, like 3.6 King Shocks?? Hahaha! Then it dawned on me. 3.6 vs 2.0 Turbo! 😂 Well, in all honesty, it wasn’t really a major decision on my end. A couple reasons: 1) the inventory was getting scarce when I bought the Jeep, and this one was exactly what I wanted, color and very FEW options. Few options was key for me. 2) I have a second car (daily driver) which is a Volvo XC90 and it has a 2.0 Supercharged + Turbo. So the 2.0 was not a foreign thought to me. Now: my thoughts/review... I really love it. Gas mileage is decent and the ‘zippiness’ off the line around town I like a lot. I’ve got nothing bad to say about the 3.6. It’s tried and true. The 2.0T should not be overlooked though. It’s been really great. Only bad part, the turbo whine is not my fave. But, it is what it is. 👊🏼👍🏻

    Did the Evo lift require you to use wheel spacers for the factory wheels?

    • @TrailNewbie
      @TrailNewbie  Год назад +1

      Hi! No, not required. I ran without wheel spacers for about a year, then I went ahead and added a set of 1 and 3/4 in Spidertrax spacers. Only issue without the spacers was just a little bit of rubbing on the front lower control arms when at max turn on the steering wheel. Overall, it’s doable without them. But, now that I have the spacers on, I like the look and overall feel much better. You can seen them in a video I just did a few weeks ago called The Rig. 😃
