What's crazy to me is that swoopes thinks that because of her skin colour, that its impossible to be racist.... that is delusional to the extreme.
I speak this language. The uno reverse card is to call them prejudiced instead. Because predjudiced+power=racism. But, the groups without the institutionalized power can most certainly be prejudiced. And if you really wanna throw 'em a curve ball, say that if you consider the WNBA to be an institution and the old guard are the ones with power, then Swoopes does have the power and can, in fact, be racist in this one way.
Yeah, people are being brainwashed about what racism is. Literally, everyone can be racist regardless of skin color.

Sheryl Swoopes is just sad at this point. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect her to worship Caitlin Clark, nor do I expect her to become a fan of hers either. She's free to like whoever she wants, but I find the way she's going about it to be incredibly disrespectful, and it's only making herself look bad. Not Caitlin Clark, as Swoopes intended. If she was going to hate on Caitlin Clark, then she could've done it more respectfully without tarnishing her own career in the process. Dr. J is a notorious Michael Jordan hater, as he's always claimed he never thought Michael was that good. However, he always presented facts to back up his statements. Granted, it doesn't mean I agree with what he says, but he at least provided evidence to make you respect his opinion. In other words, you'll never hear Dr. J make stuff up to tarnish Michael Jordan. Granted, he exaggerates how little the competition was in the 90's NBA, but he never outright lies. If Sheryl had done something similar with Caitlin from the beginning, without making up lies like Caitlin being 25 and such, then it would've been more acceptable. But as it is right now? And the fact that Sheryl is now literally willing to tarnish her own legacy just to bash Caitlin Clark? It's bordering along the lines of being a comedy and just outright sad..

Especially since A’Ja took the record for double double the right way, by trying to win with her team! It was not her whole focus, but that is Reese’s!😂😂😂 Reese is a subpar player at best that can dribble the ball down court without double dribbling or make layups.
@@sharronjones1017 I wouldn't call Angel a subpar player, but her coach needs to stop treating her like she's a generational talent. Angel is a defensive roleplayer that can rebound very well similar to how both Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman were in their primes. There's nothing wrong with that. But since we can't have a white woman being the face of the WNBA, we got to make sure people think Angel is a generational talent. Ugh. I swear they're going to destroy Angel's confidence if they keep this up. Granted, I doubt we've seen the best of what both Angel and Caitlin will be years to come, as they both are barely scratching the surface of their potentials. But unless Angel drastically develops her offensive game, she's not going to live up to the hype that people like Sheryl Swoopes are boasting about. And when that happens, you know that's going to destroy her confidence because Angel seems to cry about everything when things aren't going her way it seems.

Caitlin Clark is dominating the WNBA in the sense that each and every team has to game plan specifically for her.
You're not dominating the league if there are other players who are better than her. Both A'ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier are having more dominant seasons than Clark. This isn't diminishing Clark; she's easily a top-10 player and, I'd argue, the league's best facilitator. She's one of the league's best players only in her Rookie year, but she's not dominating.
To a bigoted mind, it was close. In reality, it was NEVER close!
She said " it was close in the beginning" ! That's a quote, so why hasn't she changed her story! She's never backed down and admitted the race was no longer close, ever. But apparently, she knew it!

Too bad jealousy and racially motivated opinions ruin such a legacy. She's pathetic at this point. Caitlyn's season high in her ROOKIE season is 35 points in a game, Swoope's CAREER high was 34 points in a game. Clark is just getting started. Swoopes is gonna need a tall glass of water to go along with that foot in her mouth.
What's even sadder is that Sheryl was handed literally everything to succeed in the WNBA from day one. She lucked out as she was assigned to the first WNBA super team, where she didn't even have to be the best player on the team most games to win. You had Michael Jordan doing interviews in the media with her, and telling his fans to watch Swoopes play.
Yet in spite of all of that, she still didn't even accomplish a fraction of what Caitlin Clark accomplished decades later. And what makes it more comical is that Caitlin is doing it with over half the WNBA and media against her too. And, she somehow managed to turn last year's worst team into playoff contenders in her rookie season. How ironic is that?

Sheryl has won Championships on every level. Sheryl took a non Basketball school to it's 1st and only Championship, something Caitlin couldn't do. @andrewmatzo8167 Sheryl was literally placed on a stacked Houston comets team that was carried by Cynthia Cooper. It's easy to win championships when you're on a stacked team, and you're not expected to be the best player on the team.
Caitlin got drafted by the worst team from last season and turned them into playoff contention and broke various records in the process. I don't care who you are. That's something. Plus, championships are TEAM accomplishments. Not individual ones. Stop acting like they are. Yes, players should want to win titles first and foremost on team sports. But it takes a TEAM to win a title in team sports. You can be the best player in the world, but if your team isn't that good, then you're not winning a championship. Take Dan Marino in the NFL, for example. I think he's way better than overrated Troy Aikman.
Yet, Troy had multiple rings in the NFL because he was lucky to have played on a stacked Dallas cowboys team in the 90s. It's not his fault, but there's a reason Troy's name never comes up in goat conversations over Marino.
@andrewmatzo8167 also if we go by your flawed logic of championships being individual accomplishments, that means benchwarmers like Jack Haley, who won a title with the Chicago Bulls during their 72-10 run accomplished more than guys like Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley who never got rings. The funny thing about Jack Haley is that he only played during garbage time for over half his career, and he had mediocre to crummy stats, too. He didn't even make the hall of fame either. In fact, the bulls gave him the cheerleader of the year award during that title run as a joke because he never played a minute most of that year. XD. Yet by your own flawed dumb logic, that one title while being lucky to ride the bench for the bulls that year makes him automatically better than guys like John Stockton, Reggie Miller and etc. I want you to really think about that.

That is what Swoopes did here. She literally downplayed HER career years, and HER era...in order to avoid naming names which Caitlin could be compared to. She knew it would not end well for her argument and she would be exposed further as a racist hater. This is a VERY common tactic used by liars, gaslighters and narcissists. For me it was close until after the Olympic break and then CC ran away with it.
The only reason is was close w some people was Reese’s double double streak. However once they started looking at the stat padding and the fact in like four games she had to stat pad just to get ten points…the separation started.

Her style does not win championships. Her teams (Iowa/Fever) become too Caitlin-centric. Like Luka, Caitlin will never win with her hunting the ball ever second of the game. It was never close!
Most players who played on the perimeter like point guards and shooting guards favored Caitlin’s style of play. The people who played down low favored Angel’s style of banging and getting rebounds and putbacks and playing aggressive defense. Through it all one averaged 19 pts 8 ast and the other one averaged 13 pts 13 reb…..Angel was only a missed layup or two more trips to the line away from averaging about 19 pts…..given the shot volume of Caitlin she should’ve averaged about 25 pts per game. The race was close and Caitlin got rest but the Sky had key injuries sicknesses to the guards that took a toll for a low post player. Angel played better against the Team USA starting front line and Caitlin struggled against Plum. Angel did excellent against the best players and Caitlin has feasted on the least a lot of times. Angel was 1 pt shy of a 20/20 game against Brittany Griner and the coach pulled her with 2 min left! In contrast Caitlin secured a triple double with a game already decided against a sorry team…..close race photo finish from the beginning for ROTY

ESPN finally put CC as #1 ROTY candidate covering the seat part of their pants with "well, she's been great since the Olympic break (so, we were never wrong!!!)" which makes me laugh, just adjust all your opinions at the end of the year, and yeah, I guess you're never wrong.

Gilbert Arenas was a guy I watched during his entire career . Never a team player or changed much about shooting , ,shooting and more shooting . Seemed to be satisfied being top scorer on average teams . He never grabbed a team and put winning above his personal stats especially with Washington. Always seemed to play on teams who needed scoring but I personally never heard him publicly demonstrated winning before everything else. Always felt sort of bad for guy when he finally realized winning was everything . He was always a build your own bridge for yourself player until time took its toll but it was to late then .
Sheryl Swoopes just needs to be ignored at this point. She adds nothing and just makes noise. Why does anyone care about her opinion?
Well, it was Reese's double doubles that carried her towards ROTY. People stating those rebounds win games. To a point rebounds helps win games. Points when games like what Clark was doing with assist. Looking now towards the playoffs. Which team is in the playoffs and what team may not, really not being in the playoffs. Who broke the most records not in just one category but several. Which player truly helped their team win games getting into the playoffs. Also, was it explained what Reese did to her wrist/arm. She has a cast meaning some kind of break or fracture. If it was a spring or tendon/muscle problem, it would not be a cast. I had a tendon problem with my wrist and thumb having it taped a few weeks. Then podcast host stating how funny her wrist happens the time of Reese's new podcast. Many have stated with Clark there would not be much mentioned about Reese. Really, without Clark most of the WNBA players were never known including Wilson. Stewart and Bird were the two most people heard about. Then people started asking who is Swoopes when she started about Clark. As one RUclips channel stated till Clark not many people knew about players in the WNBA piggy backing on Clark.
I truly believe, the sad swoops drama is a result of attention, she has received more attention from her drama than any time since her career ended,

I'm sorry, but I agree with Sheryl Swoopes. During the first month, it was close; CC and the Indiana Fever were on a huge loss streak. She personally wasn't performing nearly as well as she is now. Her shots weren't falling, nor was she the assist machine she is today. Additionally, that's when she was a turnover machine. During that same month, Angel Reese and Chicago Sky got out to a more consistent start. Reese had 20+ point games at the beginning of the season, as well as huge rebounding efforts, and was generally a more efficient player. Since then, however - the Sky have been playing way worse due to trades and injuries, and Reese's game has plateaued despite still being impressive. On the flip side, CC found her groove, and with it, the fever finally started banking wins, and it became undeniable that CC was going to be ROTY. Arguably, having the most dominant rookie season ever in the W, with only Candance Parker's rookie year being able to compete with her in terms of individual performance and team impact.
'Wishful Thinking' is not reality. She really WANTED it to be so that she had some redemption from her early season comments.

The reason why it was close is because the fever were playing the the hardest schedule and Clark was playing like trash and the Sky were winning and Angel was having a double double streak... It flipped around after the 10th game when Clark got adjusted and the team started to sink together and she started to play better...So Sheryl is right.. It was close for the first 10 games and after that it was a wrap... Caitlyn and the fever took off and haven't stopped since..
Jealousy is a disease. She is so desperate to tear CC down that she’s ruining her own legacy on every level. Reasonable people don’t respect her. She’s become a laughing stock. And to say CC isn’t dominating hurts her own legacy because CC’s numbers are better than Swoopes’ MVP year. Sad to see jealousy infect someone’s mind like that.
