i assure you both theres thousands of us that do not spit out advice or critize and make comments we appreciate that you know exactlly wat your doing and its very cool
I enjoy your channel. Seems to me what you do matches perfectly with the 70 year old tri-five Chevy cars. You work with what you have and make do. It’s always fun when you take your first drive in a car that you literally assembled from used parts.
I'm sure you already know this because of how many distributors you've installed, but you know the oil pump key on the bottom of the distributor lines up with the rotor. So you can stick a long screwdriver down and line it up to number one and the distributor will drop right in fully engaged.
Hey Dan, I'd bet the needle is sticking on that little 2 jet. Tap Tap Tap! Cheers from Junk's Automotive...... oh, comment add at the 9:28 mark. I hate it when people comment before watching the whole video... like I just did 😊
Come on Dan you finally got a real nice shop and you pour gas right on the floor, get yourself a barrel that you can fill with all your bad fluids and when it's full take it to whatever shop you want to work with and you give them free heating fuel and they give you a discount on parts or labor. I do that with a local shop and it helps us both out.
Reality doesn't get any better!!! Thre are plenty of us who have no idea what we're doing and have no room to criticize others on how they do anything!!!
Dan with point ignition you can make the points just begin open at the timing mark (motor not running ) and your timing will be spot on first time . But what fun would that be .
I was going to say same thing for points ignition. If HEI is like Chrysler electronic, then you rotate body of distributor until the reluctor wheel lines up with magnetic pickup and the initial timing mark at 8 -10 ° BTDC. Then, wherever the rotor is pointing is #1.
Just want to say hi and tell you that the best motor I bought was from a junkyard and I put it in my 78 chevy van. Hope you all are having a good day God bless and have a blessed night
When there's no drain on the radiator Cut in a piece of pipe in the lower hose and thread in a plug or a valve so you don't have to remove a hose every time you need to drain the radiator.
I'm the same way. Built a nice workbench that's always full. Have a couple of tables and carts......and still put the part on the car to work on it. Watch yer Schmutzes!!
While I was running errands this morning, I found a used car lot with a 57 Chev 210 4 door for sale asking $22k USD. Condition; Stock, At least 90 % complete drives, Little old lady car....
I agreed it would run. It looked good to me. Four barrel with headers and duals you cant go wrong there. Looks like you didnt cut the fender up as much as usual. You did well. I got a college degree a bacholors degree I have not changed for the better or worse.
You probably already know this but I did hear you ask yourself if you were turning the distributor the right way. To advance timing turn the distributor in the direction that the vacume advance is pointing. Vaccume advance always pulls.
propane torch works great for getting those check balls out for the accelerator pump just don't get it too hot or the fuel well below it will start leaking then that's a whole other issue you have to use epoxy to reseal it I've done this many times on carburetors that have sat around forever
Get yourself a white board for the shop. I have one in my kitchen for groceries. Write down on the board what you need as you think of it, snap a pic with your phone before you go out... And get a small "kiddy pool", they work great for draining oil and coolant
Dani always wants to go in town and we haven't ridden in the 55' in awhile. Can you take us a trip of your new town one day. I think that would be pretty cool.
I just want to give you a heads up don't forget to break in the cam unless maybe it was a used camera lifters that was already broken in before but if it's new you got to break it in
I don’t see anything wrong with a 305. They’re good motors and have decent torque. Side note I like that it’s blue, 55 only they were blue. 56 switched to the trademark Chevy orange which was until the late 70’s.. I dig this car a lot
What about a speedway dual 2 barrel set up you can put on a 4 barrel intake manifold. Cost about 750 00 dollars. Comes with everything you need 2 install it and looks old school cool. As soon as I can afford it I'm going to buy one.
Like I said I have a 327/350 hp Long block that would fit in that thing quite well. Give you a good deal on it. You can even see it in the background on some of my videos on the muscle car custom garage channel. Hit me up
Love the content you crazy kids but Dan I don't mean to say anything bad but on these carbs fill the float bowl through the little pipe that goes to float bowl you might save your eye brows and it gives the fuel pump time to pick up the fuel
Dan, everything was going OK until you stopped the video right before you got it running. The same point as last video. It's not nice keeping us hanging! This isn't a Netflix series! Nice to see your breaking in the floor of your new shop, and the hoods and fenders of your projects 😆. Love DD speedshop.
fill the carb via the overflow on top then try to start get them tools and loose plugs off the engine they will shoot like missles if they hit the fan its your face.................the dist should fit aprox half way between the carb and firewall if its off its prob a tooth off on the cam/dist
i assure you both theres thousands of us that do not spit out advice or critize and make comments we appreciate that you know exactlly wat your doing and its very cool
Thanks dude!
in your camp sir.
The grammar in your statement shows a lack of intelligence…

Glad you changed the intake and valve covers. Old school has to look old school, Great video every time D D Speed Shop
Thanks so much!
Keep doing what you do Dan. There are a lot of us that love watching whatever
I’m always good with whatever you guys do 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼

Thanks for all you do. Enjoy the content!
I enjoy the content. Danni's titles don't always match the content because Dan always seems able to work around a problem. All the best to you. 🇨🇦

Yes so easy. Been doin that for 40yrs.
A little bit of red RTV on both sides of the factory gaskets for exhaust manifolds works miracles on headers!
Yeah you ain't wrong
Drop a little bump stick in it. If it can't play the part at least it'll sound like it can 😝. Great video Dan!
Hey Dan&Dannie
Good to hear her running.
Take care😊
It's so nice to not hear the airport anymore. Nice nicer place to live than the old place.
the guy with all the kids and goats and pigs got a kids little pool. seems to work real well.

That’s a great intake. And it looks right on the 55 with the fill tube. Now ya need Chevrolet script valve covers
People really do get madd in the comments lol.
I love it
I got myself a rebuild kit from RockAuto for my 77 Impala 2 Barrel 305 so glad I'm watching you finagle it first
That 305 with those pipes sounded insane.
She was a little noisy

It’s all coming up Millhouse!
" THAT WAS RIDICULOUS " LAUGING MY FUKIN ASS OFF.
Thanks for all your hard work
That motor sounds great this is going to be one peppy hot rod 😮
I'm the same way. Built a nice workbench that's always full. Have a couple of tables and carts......and still put the part on the car to work on it.
Watch yer Schmutzes!!
Awesome. Glad it runs👍👍
Breaking in the cam and the neighbors at the same time! LMAO!
Haha
It's not the liquid gasoline you have to worry about, it's the fumes.
I’m digging that blue color. 👍
❤❤ I love your videos, awesome content😊
This video sure went by fast!! I think you will be much happier with a 4-bbl on that 305. Nice work. Cheers!! 😎
The hackery is just awesome.
What is seen. Cannot be unseen. Damn dude.
While I was running errands this morning, I found a used car lot with a 57 Chev 210 4 door for sale asking $22k USD. Condition; Stock, At least 90 % complete drives, Little old lady car....
Pop some 1.6 rockers on the intakes for some cheap horsey power. Love your channel, Daniel is a hoot.
"It'll be better, or worse, or the same"...... Dan DDSpeed Shop

I like it; it's definately a Hot Rod even if it is a 305!!!!
Love the video on the radiator!

Wire tie those gauges to a coat hanger works GREAT

Here in BC, Lordco is only closed 1 day a year, Christs Birthday
It's handy
Dan got excited and messed on the floor ?
Diva Dan with the plan
That's a perfect little motor for a daily.
I just want to give you a heads up don't forget to break in the cam unless maybe it was a used camera lifters that was already broken in before but if it's new you got to break it in

Dan, The Tri-five savior!😊👍
Nice looking shoebox.....55's are growing on me.
You got Dani on video! Wow! I forgot how cute she is! Can we get more video of Dani please! 🙏

Is this the first DDs episode where Dan doesn’t get his hair caught in something?

Found your channel from this comment. Subscribed. That blown 55 is awesome
@IowaBudgetRCBashers well thanks a bunch. I appreciate it
Let’s gooooo.. It’s time for another great video 👍👍
You need a "No Smoking!" Sign for the garage, the way you spill gas like its $1 US per Gal, again!
Haha
It's running 🏃♂️ pretty 😍 needs more love and a carberator
the plastic type floats have a tendency to sink
Thanks for the video.
Pachoom the beautiful sound of tdc there are 3 C's to horsepower carb cam and compression in the old days

Word on the skreets, Nitrous next episode!!!!
Sounds like a rocket in the ear buds!

its all about the clickbait when it comes to titles it seems.
Dan you get good comments and bad comments in the end it’s all a plus. Dan time for a 4barrel carburetor ,yes
Quote of the day:
“It’ll either be better, or worse, or the same.”
Hello Dan n Dani
That thing sounds awesome! Neighbors getting used to you yet?
…”why is it raining!” 😂
Love dragging my weekly shower a few extra weeks 😅😂😂
It's not that I'm stinky just as long as the wife don't complain about me washing my car oil hands on her good towels 😅
Yes Sir!!!
Look at the positives, you won't have to get another shower for a week.
Nice a 4 barrel ..I'm sure it runs good now ..
Thanks for the video cheers
I like the hair green cool color 😊
Well if your going to put a 4 barrel intake and cab on it,you might as well put those LT-1 valve covers on it too
Vacuum advance hose? Also thermostat will help.
Had to laugh, when Dan says its a little " rinky dink" its a lot rinky dink. Just the way we like it😊
fill the carb via the overflow on top then try to start get them tools and loose plugs off the engine they will shoot like missles if they hit the fan its your face.................the dist should fit aprox half way between the carb and firewall if its off its prob a tooth off on the cam/dist
You must like replacing flat cams
Thought I was the weekly shower bloke
I'm sure there are lots more of us mate.
Well. To Heck with Danny and the Horse she rode in on!! 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 love ya!
@ couldnt resist after your horse photo!! 🤣🤣
Yeah it's in need of a small or medium 4 barrel 🤔
Work harder not smarter keep up the bad work always entertaining
That’s why you always run water until you get the bugs out.

Don't you have a ultrasonic cleaning tank or is it at the old shop? ;-)
