Hi again Halfass Kustoms Brent Ester from the D Mi 😎 USA 😁 thanks for sharing another great video update on your progress with the Stud , can't wait to see you driving it 🤩💞🔥😎😁
Gooday Brent. Car's lookin good. If that trany sucks I can donate a 400 or a 350 or a 700R4 .Your choice if one of these would help. AND, FREE delivery!
And yes, that electronic laser rust removing tool is the envy of all car guys that wished they had one. I would quit my job and do rust removal as a business if I had that thing!
I was born in Maine , and when I was nine, we moved to CT. That is when my dad had the 52 Stud , and we used to drive back MA. Once a year and I was sitting in the back and looking up front to the dash and windshield, it looked to me like an airplane. You got your handfuls with this car.
Been missing so many videos lately Brent. I’m so glad your still creating since the fire, your an inspiration to many and hope you and the misses are well. ❤️
Definitely start from scratch with the floor and tunnel. And your right about it being a bigger job than at first thought. The LS engines are probably the most versatile regarding fitting, but the clip change has made it so much more of a challenge, having said that you Will smash it, well done, can't believe you will let this go but hopefully to a worthy owner
Brent look at C6 Corvette manifolds. The non-Z06 version. They hug pretty tight and have a nice flange on them. Cast steel too so you can weld a v band to them.
Yeh, that's all you have to do is cut the trans tunnel a bit and build it into the new floor. If I'm not mistaken, I think Brent even mentioned in last video that he didn't like the clearance in the tunnel. I think I saw that and it is interesting. Definitely use the top of the existing tunnel and build up the sides to fit the new floor.
Hi to you all and Ian you can put the motor in and I know it will be right. Ian you are always smiling and laughing and seem like you are enjoying yourself doing what you do and that makes me feel good and I thank you. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Good progress today. Everything is going to be tight in the engine bay with that LS. If you cut a hole near the end of the forks that you can bolt a hitch ball thru (to keep the chain from slipping off the front), you wont need such a long chain.
Young man I love watching you there some amazing stuff you do just let you know your like me I call myself a barnyard mechanic very proud the way you work I bulid a 166 foot inch whee😢 base 4x4 pulling truck 496 Chevy right at 700 horse power 820 gears running 114 octane rac😢 fuel took 3 gallon to go a little over 300 feet
On the trans ,you are putting 2 to 3 times the power to the trans than it had in stock form. Good luck ,love your werk been watching since the generel, which is awesum
I agree however think how Brent feels . He lost all the stuff he had been collecting for a long time :( In time this shop will have character too we just have to give It time ..@@david929190
Thats a tight fit for sure! But a 4.8 in there it will be one fine automobile. I agree, whole new floor, although more work the end result will be better.
Hey Brent! You could just cut that tunnel out and weld some strips down the length of it on both sides to raise it up, and weld it back in. (instead of making a whole new tunnel).....Interesting build, quite a rassel getting that LS to squeeze in there. Eh?
Calls his friend…”Hey buddy, I just yanked the gearbox out of your build, so you’ll need another one” 😂 That’s the danger of leaving your building in Brent’s shop too long, you might end up with nothing 😂
I like how you're telling us what you're getting ready to do ( but in your head I'm guessing your thinking 🤔 that's gonna be a lot of Suck ) lol . Really enjoying this Build ! Thanks Brent
Idea - Stick some forks or a 3 point on the back of your yard truck rod thing. You could pick stuff up,and or use it like a tractor around the yard. Love your videos
New subscriber here. Watching your show makes me think about what my life would have been like if I had pursued my dreams of car building when I was a youngster. It's fun to see how someone with experience and the right tools gets things done. Great job 👍
Those Stude bodies have a shit ton of body bolts. I'm thinking there are around 12 3/8" bolts where the body bolts direcltly to the frame. To me it seems like an early attempt at unibody because these frames are really light weight. But when bolted to the body it really stiffens up the entire thing. Oh....from the factory, there are rubber isolators between the body and frame. Don't know if they help much, but I put em back in my cars.
Okay brent this new custom is going to need a custon tonneau cover kinda like the 49 gmc but have it electrically actuated to open and close that'd be cool man that Lazer cleanings is so buck Roger's hahahahahaha 😎 😅😊😂 lol!
Whenever I see a Studebaker, I think of the muppet Fozzie Bear in the movie from 1979. That was however a 1951 Commander, but its design is not at all that different from the Champion.
Any thoughts on cutting more of the firewall out to push the motor back an inch or two more? You would have more room around the steering box and more room for a mechanical fan. On the transmission side, if you are running a stock truck engine harness why not run the 4l60 too? Anyway, love the vids and the way you dive headfirst into a problem.
A good engine cleaner which is very cheap is oven cleaner I’ve used it quite a few times and it does a good job could you put the battery in the back behind the seat
That dog Pablo?? looks like he’s bigger than you and looked like he wanted to take control of the steering wheel when you took him for a ride at the end. He even had similar facial expressions… talk about a dog starting to look like its owner. Or is it vice versa lol😂
G'day big fella, still here, still watching, why aren't you blindfolded with one hand tide behind your back, while putting that LS in. 😊 se ya later, mate

The shots of you and Pablo cruising in your hot rods always crack me up , the look on his face lol
If Pablo smiles, the build’s approved 😂
And yes, that electronic laser rust removing tool is the envy of all car guys that wished they had one. I would quit my job and do rust removal as a business if I had that thing!
When I first saw one of those, I thought they were fake lol. Yes I could do that for hours !
I like the blues and jazz music, its peaceful sounding while watching amazing mechanical wizardry happen :)
I agree the music is fantastic. Keep it up, cool jazz organ, bass and drum kit.
Can't wait to see the Finished Project!!!❤😮
I recognized that transmission right away. A THM250 looks enough like a THM350 to cause you to order the wrong parts. At least that happened to me.
I was born in Maine , and when I was nine, we moved to CT. That is when my dad had the 52 Stud , and we used to drive back MA. Once a year and I was sitting in the back and looking up front to the dash and windshield, it looked to me like an airplane. You got your handfuls with this car.

Wow, that gonna be a cool ride Brent! Can't wait to see it running!😊
I love the way you just have spare LS motors laying around Brent. In Australia they command crazy money, even for the early versions.
You did you're a great surgeon you made that LS engine fit
Brent you make it look so easy you’re the best 😊
ABSOLUTELY LOOOVE THAT LAZER SKAILER!! What a wonderful TOOL !!🎉😂❤
When it looks impossible, Brent always comes through.

Wow Studebaker sure had a mechanical mind of their own, pretty cool hvac
Brent look at C6 Corvette manifolds. The non-Z06 version. They hug pretty tight and have a nice flange on them. Cast steel too so you can weld a v band to them.
Brett the layers does a great job cleaning up the motor mate

Dog with you in pickup reminds me of my dog and me. They say dogs look like their owners...yup
Hi to you all and Ian you can put the motor in and I know it will be right. Ian you are always smiling and laughing and seem like you are enjoying yourself doing what you do and that makes me feel good and I thank you. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Still digging the soundtrack!
Love seeing Pablo 💌🤟

Great to see the progress on the Stu. Going to be another cool build. Take care and be safe. 👍
I would cut everything out start from scratch when it comes to the floor. Looking good Brent. see ya on the next one. Cheers.
Lazer. Multiple functions. Today it's a grime remover. No messy power washing. And it's ready for paint or whatever you want to go to it. 👌
Young man I love watching you there some amazing stuff you do just let you know your like me I call myself a barnyard mechanic very proud the way you work I bulid a 166 foot inch whee😢 base 4x4 pulling truck 496 Chevy right at 700 horse power 820 gears running 114 octane rac😢 fuel took 3 gallon to go a little over 300 feet
yes you made it! That will be a smooth motor scooter there. Great job so glad to see it sitting in there. Amazing job. Just Awesome, Thank You Dennis
This build is getting fun to watch too. 👍
Excellent Video Brent :) , Pablo the Supervisor Dog 🐕 also going be cool built for sure and looking forward more videos to watch to!
On the trans ,you are putting 2 to 3 times the power to the trans than it had in stock form. Good luck ,love your werk been watching since the generel, which is awesum
With that LS hanging in the air it looks like Cthulhu, Brent!😆
You make it all so easy Brent , iv spent half a day getting a brake light to work 😂,
tight fit but Brent always get enough room to make it work. One reason I Love this channel
That under seat hole would be a good place for a battery.
Hi there Brett inline six would be easy mate more room mate
Thanks for another , Brother !
Great progress Brent, like always enjoyed watching!
Taking sharp nicely
You have a new big shop, but I can still relate to how you build stuff. Keep the great vids coming.
The old shop had a lot of character. I miss that.
I agree however think how Brent feels . He lost all the stuff he had been collecting for a long time :( In time this shop will have character too we just have to give It time ..@@david929190
Old shop was same size, it just wasnt as opened up like the new shop is
That's a nice car that's solid.
I haven't seen one of those before, but the Studebaker. is pretty cool. That could be a nice car
That laser works so good cleaning thet engine 👍
Thats a tight fit for sure! But a 4.8 in there it will be one fine automobile. I agree, whole new floor, although more work the end result will be better.
Hey Brent!
You could just cut that tunnel out and weld some strips down the length of it on both sides to raise it up, and weld it back in. (instead of making a whole new tunnel).....Interesting build, quite a rassel getting that LS to squeeze in there. Eh?
I thought about doing this on my 51 Stude, but it was just easier to roll a whole new tunnel.
In the past i used a remote resevior pump which has a smaller pulley and moves the smaller pump closer to the engine
That motor does fit tight near it took a lot of work just getting everything else is not going to be fun but you'll get it
Calls his friend…”Hey buddy, I just yanked the gearbox out of your build, so you’ll need another one” 😂
That’s the danger of leaving your building in Brent’s shop too long, you might end up with nothing 😂
I like how you're telling us what you're getting ready to do ( but in your head I'm guessing your thinking 🤔 that's gonna be a lot of Suck ) lol . Really enjoying this Build ! Thanks Brent
taking shape real good
At about 32:21 I was thinking, "is there anything flammable there... yes there is (32:24). ;-)
Idea - Stick some forks or a 3 point on the back of your yard truck rod thing.
You could pick stuff up,and or use it like a tractor around the yard.
Love your videos
Looking good. Another great video 👍👍
Wow! That is tight!!!
Nice to see the Stu stripped back. Hopefully lots of room for activities.
Progress Mr Brent. Along ways to go

That’s what you call a tight fit
But I’m sure you will sort it out 👍🏼👍🏼
My 2 cents is, scrap floor pans and redo it all....Happy Trails!
Hi My Dear Friend Very Very Great Job Sir ❤❤❤❤❤
My uncle had a studebaker 51 with a Cadillac engine it was dangerous
Just jack up the rad cap, and build everything back, except the shell, and that will need a little love. Be well, Hi Ester.
Pull the front fenders, hood and lay it in the S10 motor cradle then put the sheet metal back on trimming as necessary
Those inner guards could be trimmed to fit the exhaust manifolds and yeah, maybe a less deeper pan and notch the x member.
In Australia we made 6 cylinders go like mad.
A good engine cleaner which is very cheap is oven cleaner I’ve used it quite a few times and it does a good job
It be funny to see a 2.2 ltr from s-10 in there modern age and still has power
Okay brent this new custom is going to need a custon tonneau cover kinda like the 49 gmc but have it electrically actuated to open and close that'd be cool man that Lazer cleanings is so buck Roger's hahahahahaha 😎 😅😊😂 lol!

Disassemble before assemble 😅 clean the junk off of firewall and start from scratch 🤙👍

Hit the junkyard look for some Volvos you can take the electric power steering pump off of those
Looks like a good place for a V6. Just sayin'. You know best.
28:28 that has 3 acre feet of room once you got it cleaned out wow
Yes you can do it Peace out
That thing looks pretty light it should fly with an LS in it LOL
It's a thm 200 trans used in light weight cars and trucks
Here for the music
How much juice does the lazer gun need , 110 or 220 ?
This is becoming a neat build brent do er up H.A.K style
That transmission is a turbo 200 I think it's a transmission went behind some V6 GM stuff in the 80s
That dog Pablo?? looks like he’s bigger than you and looked like he wanted to take control of the steering wheel when you took him for a ride at the end. He even had similar facial expressions… talk about a dog starting to look like its owner. Or is it vice versa lol😂
How much time does the Lazer save you? Wow
Exactly turbo 250.😊
just a suggestion, why don't you Volkswagon TDI diesel swap this? Have a diesel ratrod?
G'day big fella, still here, still watching, why aren't you blindfolded with one hand tide behind your back, while putting that LS in. 😊 se ya later, mate
Trans is a TH375
Ya But , if anyone can do it , That be BRENT !!
Maybe there is a car or truck in the yard with a big trans tunnel that would work in this car/truck. Lol
I’m having a problem with my steering hitting my factory exhaust manifold on my LS are block huggers smaller than the factory exhaust manifold ?
good old 283 would fit like a glove ha ha
You are correct. I put one in my 52 Studie with very little effort.
That Lazer is like having a magic wand.
How much $$$$$$ ?
Hope that transmission can handle an LS
I've never seen you take the floor out of a different vehicle and put it in any of your projects.
If anyone can make it fit, you can.
Gosh that thing is ugly its lovable! This is definitely a fun project. Carry on me dude!
It's a late 70's early 80's turbo 200 I wouldn't recommend you use it.
What gauge of metal do you use for the floors
