I'm a 78 year old retired vocal coach & guitar teacher, singer/songwriter, and performer. Discovering Dimash has resurrected my old musical spirit. I now realize that my ideas about the boundaries of music are being shattered by younger artists arriving on the scene. Dimash was a child prodigy who began piano and vocal training at age 5. He now is 26 and has earned a B.A. in Classical Voice & an M.A. in Contemporary Voice. He was blessed with an extraordinary vocal instrument. He has a 6 octave range. He truly is a phenomenon.
DImash has BA in Classical singing and minors and Masterclass certifications in Contemporary singing , Broadway, Jazz, Pop... He completed his Masters in Music composition with the highest honors this summer, and has started in his Doctorate program in Musicology this fall.

Dimash is a fan of Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury and Pavarotti to name a few. His love of Michael Jackson will show in his Dance Numbers in his concerts. He is without a doubt, the greatest singer in the world. Almost every vocal coach that has heard Dimash, will say the same.
Since you didnt comment on it, I assume you didnt realize that the last run he did lasted 25 seconds and he pulled it in one breath. As if the rest of the performance wasnt enough already.
Initially I thought it will be normal to listen to him being as normal Kazakh person. But then Dimash started to grow, grow and all his performances at Voice in China made me personally to follow him every day that time and I really now got sick of listening to him, especially when he sings in native mother Kazakh language. You become so happy and proud that there is a person who really attracts all people around the world by his powerful voice. My journey to Dimash world started from listening to his all performances and ended up now watching and seeking for vocal coach reactions to Dimash all over the world!!! I'm not sure what really happened to me right now, but it seems like I'm so seek watching and looking for reactions, getting satisfactions from every single reactions and this feeling is so fric**ng cool!!!

wonderful watching you watching Dimash! I'm 1 year AD (after Dimash) and I listen to him everyday. He is the light in my life and I'm so grateful to be alive and witnessing our own Renaissance Man in this century. Like Michaelangelo was in his time called Il Divino (the devine one) I have no qualms giving the same honor and recognition to our glorious and breathtaking Dimash. btw I bawled like a baby for 3 days locked in my room, watching everything I could find, reading, listening and I was a changed person. BD (before Dimash) I had fallen into a dark place, lost hope and couldn't see a way out of my messy life. But I'm moving on, and looking forward to my next 50 yrs.

I loved your genuine and heartfelt reaction. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The piano player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh RUclipsr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Saha people Rus) uses this technique too; they called it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. This concert was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. It was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I miss you, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. It must be very satisfying for him to sit down and compose music without constraints (limitations by ordinary singers). Hello, I’m from Brazil! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). Nothing cultish about him. It’s just like when people first heard Caruso of Pavarotti - they fell in love with their voices. Just saying. And yes he is probably the best singer the the world has ever known, because he certainly does have the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history - 6.5 octaves. Some people may get over-enthusiastic and say 7 or even 8, but it is 6.5. Totally impressive, because the timbre of his voice and his technical abilities are out of this world! wonderful watching you watching Dimash! I'm 1 year AD (after Dimash) and I listen to him everyday. He is the light in my life and I'm so grateful to be alive and witnessing our own Renaissance Man in this century. Like Michaelangelo was in his time called Il Divino (the devine one) I have no qualms giving the same honor and recognition to our glorious and breathtaking Dimash.
btw I bawled like a baby for 3 days locked in my room, watching everything I could find, reading, listening and I was a changed person. BD (before Dimash) I had fallen into a dark place, lost hope and couldn't see a way out of my messy life. But I'm moving on, and looking forward to my next 50 yrs.

I loved your genuine and heartfelt reaction. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The piano player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh RUclipsr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Saha people Rus) uses this technique too; they called it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies.
This concert was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. It was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I miss you, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. It must be very satisfying for him to sit down and compose music without constraints (limitations by ordinary singers). High notes, low notes, whatever his genius mind can conceive, Dimash will achieve.
There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. Lara liked his cover so much she started collaborating with him too. Passion, technique, range, breath control, and not bad looking. He is the complete package and is a nice humble guy too.

Hello, I’m from Brazil! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). And yes he is probably the best singer the the world has ever known, because he certainly does have the widest vocal range of any male singer in recorded history - 6.5 octaves. Some people may get over-enthusiastic and say 7 or even 8, but it is 6.5. Totally impressive, because the timbre of his voice and his technical abilities are out of this world!
