Dimash - 1. Both parents are singers 2. His mother is the top Soprano of his country 3. He has been receiving vocal training since he was 5 years old 4. He was in a swimming team, which helps him hold his breath 5. He has been trained in classical music, but prefers to mix classical with pop. - he is not an alien, or a fake, or anything other than a man whose only interest has been music, he dedicates all his time to music and to training --- very hard work, for unbelievable results!!
Dimash is not just 1 in a million he is 1 in a lifetime. The fact no one cares that they do not understand the language he is singing in and just enjoy his voice.
Amen! I don't need to understand the words because his voice draws the picture for me and I feel it. Most other singers can't do that because they don't have the vocal cords that Dimash has.
That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. Further youtubers have commented that it is used some parts of the Middle East. It is also referred to as a "glottal stop" and used in English when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.
A Kazakh youtuber mentioned that it's part of a funeral song and done as a memorial for the lead vocalist of "A Studio" who first sang "Sinful Passion", Batyrkhan Shukenov, and who died a few years ago.
@@ubervocal8777 I did notice, and thank you for adding it. I tried to find the original Kazakh commentator that told of this, but was unable to relocate the comment. I seem to recall also that the same commenter said this particular funeral song is typically sung only by women. If we could learn more about it someday, it would be awesome information for a completist.

It’s not yodeling, its a singing technique originated from the Tibet in China. The tribe is known to produce that stuttering effect in such a angelic style. You could search the singer, Zha Xi Ping Cuo 扎西平措, the song he sang is called “春”, “Spring”. And hear him sing freely.

Да актер в нём огромный, каждая песня спектакль, без перевода люди содрогаются , феномен, слушаю одни и те же песни уже 2 месяца и всё как первый раз, обалдеть от этого парня...затмил весь мир творческий
Only problem is, they promised him they wouldn't pit him against children, and now that's just what they plan to do. It's against his principles, and he's told them so.
Thank You for this reaction! Because of pausing you missed the fact that the last part was made in one breath!!! 22 seconds with melisma going up and down!!! Simply incredible!
Dimash has total use of every aspect of his voice, and can naturally create any effects he wishes. He doesn't need artificial gimmicks to achieve any sound he desires. However, you haven't been listening to him as long as many of us so you can be forgiven. Obviously you admire his incredible talent and finely-honed skills, and you're favorably inclined toward him in general. So thanks for a basically enjoyable reaction, and for making the effort to share this amazing song with us.
Go back and listen to that run again...He goes to highest note and back down in one breath...Thanks for reacting to Dimash...also...that yodel was him...Kazakh folk style..
Just recently, I listened to back to back songs, from Dimash, for about 45 minutes. When it was done, I realized I had a strange feeling...it was like my whole body was full of electricity and it lasted about 30 minutes before it began to subside. I have felt chills many times, from music or singing that I have heard, but that was my first time to have that experience. It was strange and wonderful at the same time. Our bodies really do respond to the frequency of sound waves. I can't be the only one that has felt this.
That magnificent sound you hear is what I would call ululation or keening. As in, mourning for his sinful passion. Totally Mid-eastern. Sounds like a paid mourner from ancient times. His despair and longing for the loss of the passionate love he can't live without is expressed gloriously in this song. I mean, wow. You need read the lyrics in English. This young man is a miracle.
