      Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,
And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers. [Hud 11:116]
And when harm touches men, they cry sincerely only to their Lord, turning to Him in repentance; but when He gives them a taste of His Mercy, behold, a party of them associates partners in worship with their Lord.
So as to be ungrateful for the graces which We have bestowed on them. Then enjoy (your short life); but you will come to know. [Ar-Rum 30:33-34]
We wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their gods other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they (false deities) add aught to them except destruction.
Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) the towns while they are doing wrong (polytheism). Verily, His Seizure is painful, (and) severe. [Hud 11:101-102]
And to warn those who say: "Allah has begotten a son (or offspring or children)."
No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. Mighty (in disbelief) is the word that comes out of their mouths. They utter nothing but a lie. [Al-Kahf 18:4-5]
So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life. But surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped. [Fussilat 41:16]
Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. [Al-Mulk 67:17]
Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.
Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.
Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings. [Al-Qamar 54:19-21]
So when Our Torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaytan made fair-seeming unto them that which they used to do. [Al-An'aam 6:43]
Such is the punishment (in this life), but verily, the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they but knew. [Al-Qalam 68:33]

Don't Weep For Me in Sorrow but in Joy. To have lived and loved anything or anyone or been loved by anything or someone, means you were given life's highest reward, the Gift of Love, for to have loved and been loved is no greater achievement. Love is too abundant to count, immeasurably measurless in it's bound, it's too wise to comprehend yet infinitely finite in each experience.
I've lived to sip tea with her, eat with her, break bread with her. I've walked and ran with her and sometimes just sat beside her. Love wept with me and I with She. We laughed, cried and fought sometimes. We even parted ways but always returned. Love loved in every situation whether poor or rich. In our pain or pleasure, disappointments or surprises. Love was loyal even in betrayal. Whether near or far I always felt her heartbeat and She mine. Love showed up at times as a stranger, other times a friend, every now and then she was the enemy that once was, but never truly was. She was A family member or even a cherished pet. I heard her voice in the woo of the morning dove or the purr of a kitten. She sang to me in the melody of a song or spoke to me in the refrain of a poem. She told me many stories and tales of past present and future journeys and I shared mine with her. We shared our defeats and victories. Our shared suffering only strengthened the bond that tied the both of us together. We rose like a Phoenix from the ashes, freed from the chains of our pride that served to humble us. Thank you Love for every gaze in your eyes, every kiss and embrace. I got to pass you by and breathe your sweet aroma, hear your voice and taste the fruit of your love.I held you as a baby, maybe I was the baby held. We both gave each other life. If I say goodbye first or you to me, it won't matter for our love spans beyond the gap of death. Our Love In any amount is more than any tea cup of one lifetime could hold. My moment with you was an eternity and I am grateful. Don't weep for me in Sorrow but in Joy, for I have tasted Love. We passed in both the light and night of Life.

As an Australian, it seems highly negligent to me that the states had days of warning of how dangerous the storm would be... And masses of people have still died. Many of them workers in warehouses clearly not designed to withstand tornadoes. It sounds like the government cared more about protecting the profits of billion/ million dollar companies then the lives of their citizens.
Edit: The workers at the candle factory have sued their employer. Apparently, the employer was aware of the direct danger over three hours before the warehouse was hit. Instead of following any safety protocols, the workers were threatened with being fired if they left. Absolutely disgusting. Would not be surprised if the same happened with the Amazon workers.
This is why the state needs to implement and enforce strict laws and protocols. Non-essential workers should not be forced to work during very high risk weather. Employers should liable for tornado protocol and safety checks. Same as fire safety checks are done. And extremely hefty criminal charges and fines should be put in place for any employers if they do not properly protect their workers. Workers' lives are not disposable ..

Yes but this tornado would have destroyed any building. The 1 big tornado was 2 miles wide and stayed on the ground for 200 miles. When the wind is strong enough to use a semi as a missile and pick up enough earth to be 3-5ft deep no structure is safe.

I don't think you understand weather forecasting. Mayfield didn't have days of warning. The forecasting can only tell you that the conditions are favorable. It didn't forecast that a massive tornado will hit them.
It's easy to throw stones when you don't have that sort of problem, isn't it ? There's lots of blame to go around for this heavy death toll. I don't think you're qualified to assign an iota of it.

My dad was born and raised in Kansas and when I told him about the first time I saw one he was casual like "Oh yeah that's how it is" . Really was an experience I'd never had to encounter, and I learned a lot from those experiences. Until you've lived through it or grown up around it you really can't fathom what it's like. Sort of. It was all within the same evening. Most of them spawned out of the same storm system, which I think started in Arkansas and moved on a north eastern path for 200-300 miles. Not unusual for a potent storm system to produce damage/tornados all along it's track as long as the conditions support it. It's very common here for the weather service to put out statements (which they did this time as well) leading up to an event like this to give those in the bulls eye of the anticipated severe storm a time frame of when they can except them to roll through.
