As an Australian, it seems highly negligent to me that the states had days of warning of how dangerous the storm would be... And masses of people have still died. Many of them workers in warehouses clearly not designed to withstand tornadoes. It sounds like the government cared more about protecting the profits of billion/ million dollar companies then the lives of their citizens. Edit: The workers at the candle factory have sued their employer. Apparently, the employer was aware of the direct danger over three hours before the warehouse was hit. Instead of following any safety protocols, the workers were threatened with being fired if they left. Absolutely disgusting. Would not be surprised if the same happened with the Amazon workers. This is why the state needs to implement and enforce strict laws and protocols. Non-essential workers should not be forced to work during very high risk weather. Employers should liable for tornado protocol and safety checks. Same as fire safety checks are done. And extremely hefty criminal charges and fines should be put in place for any employers if they do not properly protect their workers. Workers' lives are not disposable ..
Yes but this tornado would have destroyed any building. The 1 big tornado was 2 miles wide and stayed on the ground for 200 miles. When the wind is strong enough to use a semi as a missile and pick up enough earth to be 3-5ft deep no structure is safe.
Not because you have an opinion, you need to say it, sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut especially when you have nothing positive to say. Australia has its problems too.... relax!!!

He forgot to say Ohio. We had a tornado too. The weatherman told us on the Friday evening news to get our tornado prepared supplies ready in the basement. So I did. I stayed up all night. I say my prayers that we did not end up like the other towns. RIP to all who died.
@@feartheghostinme675 What do you think they should have done? No matter how seriously you took it this tornado would still have caused devastation that it has. You think you are stronger than wind that can use a semi truck as a missile? You think you are stronger than wind that can pick up enough earth 3-5ft deep? You think you are strong enough a wind that can pick up a foundation of a house? This tornado completely destroyed their Court House and other Government buildings. No one predicted a tornado 2 miles wide and 1 that stayed on the ground for 200 miles. The news was not able to warn them about that tornado. Do you know why? Our weather service system does not have a lens big enough to capture this size of this beast. The National weather service does not have the technology to pick the who tornado on their system. You are not smart enough to grasp the whole situation.
This is so sad to watch, knowing every single person affected by this will never be the same. Thousands of lives have been altered forever. Some would call that fate, but it’s just devastating to watch. I wish nothing but the best for everyone involved 🌹
I grew up in Washington state and even we've had a few F1 tornadoes out here, which really isn't much....However the first time I lived in Iowa for work and heard a tornado siren, it was haunting. My dad was born and raised in Kansas and when I told him about the first time I saw one he was casual like "Oh yeah that's how it is" . Really was an experience I'd never had to encounter, and I learned a lot from those experiences. Until you've lived through it or grown up around it you really can't fathom what it's like. I send all my prayers to those families of missing, injured, and deceased . Stay safe and alert, be there for each other. I'm so sorry for that woman who lost her fiancé, I hope she finds peace..
Just unreal to see all the devastation and my heart goes out to all that lost their homes and work and loved ones. Made me cry seeing all the loss. I hope they find a New way to build homes and businesses like underground if you live in an area of Tornado paths. Thoughts and Prayers from Colombia 🇨🇴 I grew up in Florida but came back home to Colombia. We do not have Tornadoes. Thank God.
I think of that too. It's incredible that as many folks survived in that candle factory as they did. That type of building is like almost as bad as seeking shelter in a trailer. I'm reminded of the Home Depot that collapsed in Joplin killing many. Don't seek shelter in a big box store or a large post steel type building unless they have reinforced shelters.
As a guy on the east coast grandpa always said to me "People out west are strong because they have to deal with the wrath of mother nature with god wisdom. That's why they're strong it's their faith that keeps their hearts warm in the face of their labors of the land they choose to live and protect."
I hope people of influence start making public donations to aid organizations or do some kind of celebrity fundraiser for these poor people, to get the ball rolling.
If any good reaches them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but if any evil befalls them, they say, “This happened because of you.” Say: “All things are from Allah.” What is wrong with these people that they do not understand any word?) [An-Nisa' 78]
Just for note, EF3 rated for now. Structural engineers were on their way to evaluate the damage. There is a good chance that the intensity will be upgraded. It derailed a fully loaded train later on in it's life, hurling a railcar up a hill.
@@nothereyetlost because he cares about America! That’s why I voted for Joe Biden! Just imagine what the orange buffoon would be doing during this tragedy!
Rand Paul voted against funding for the Puerto Ricans and New Yorkers who were devastated by the hurricanes. However, he wrote to Biden crying for funds for Kentuckians The Kentuckians deserve the funding; Rand Paul doesn't deserve another term in office.
Sort of. It was all within the same evening. Most of them spawned out of the same storm system, which I think started in Arkansas and moved on a north eastern path for 200-300 miles. Not unusual for a potent storm system to produce damage/tornados all along it's track as long as the conditions support it. It's very common here for the weather service to put out statements (which they did this time as well) leading up to an event like this to give those in the bulls eye of the anticipated severe storm a time frame of when they can except them to roll through.
Stephen Colbert has different organizations on his Twitter account that people can donate to. As he said tonight in his monologue “Americans help Americans”. And this is a Canadian giving you his message. Many have lost everything. Doesn’t matter what political party you belong to they need help!
I can’t even imagine the trauma they’re feeling after devastation like this I hope the Senators do what they should to make sure this never happens again!
there were tornado watches all the way up here in Michigan. Because that storm that was in Kentucky just a few hours later was in Michigan at like 3-4am, the rain was horrible, I thought the rain was going to break our windows.
Here is something that's really crazy! They said that the employees wanted to leave because of the tornado but the supervisor threatened to fire them if they tried to leave. Crazy!
Meteorologists: * these storms will be destructive, life threatening, please protect yourself!* Business owners to workers: GET YOUR ASS IN THERE AND KEEP MAKING ME MONEY!!!*
This is absolutely heartbreaking and devastating! Be thankful for what you have because it can be ripped away from you in a second, but most of all be thankful for your life!
Thank you for your excellent coverage of this horrible catastrophe. I hope people are able to help the victims and never forget. They need help from individuals and the government.
Are there any stories from the people who lost everything. How their lives have changed, how they move on with no more vehicles nor home, probably no job. Maybe a story on how they had to start all over from scratch, or the help they’ve had. Sorry for all of the losses.
Blessings!!! I'm a Wisconsinite....no stranger to Tornados. I've been in a number of them, even lifted in my car and spun then slammed to the ground years ago in the middle of flying debris. That terrifying air ride occurred years ago, but I remember it like yesterday.....and......yesterday, I was on foot caught in another one while making my way through the darkness to check on the safety of an elder and her dog who had a large tree fall in the midst of our storms .... ...that being said, ..... I know first hand the nightmares they went through. My prayers for them continue. I wish I was there to help !
Would it really be that expensive to build tornado-proof shelters for places where large numbers of people work or live, like apartment building and factories? Especially in new construction, where underground shelters can easily be constructed before the rest of the building.
The persons responsible, who kept people inside the candle factory by threatening them with loss of livelihood/job, really should be prosecuted for manslaughter.
If they let them leave and they got hit by the tornado, then what? They'd still be suing. Have you seen the homes that were hit and the death toll from it? Unfortunately, those in the factory faired better than others in their homes!
I think we should have more in place for people affected by disasters. Every time something happens, I feel like I should be offering up my second bedroom to a person or a couple in need.
Wow my heart goes out....to all those who lost their lives and those that are displaced due to the tornado's....while we in the states get ready to celebrate the holidays...these poor people have lost everything.. Our thoughts and prayers go out...let those close by in neighboring cities can find in their hearts to donate to this cause.

He forgot to say Ohio. We had a tornado too. The weatherman told us on the Friday evening news to get our tornado prepared supplies ready in the basement. So I did. I stayed up all night. I say my prayers that we did not end up like the other towns. RIP to all who died.
Where? We had strong winds that's it.
You are smart NOT many people take tornado warnings serious 🙄
@@christineperez7562 I'm in Cleveland Ohio and all we had was some strong winds as well.
Wow that's horrible. RIP to those victims. Makes me glad to be in the location that I'm in even though I complain about this city all the time.
Right! Me too
Many tears for all who have lost so much. ❤️
Natalie M, I know how you feel 😢.
This is so sad to watch, knowing every single person affected by this will never be the same. Thousands of lives have been altered forever. Some would call that fate, but it’s just devastating to watch. I wish nothing but the best for everyone involved 🌹
Samantha, it's so heartbreaking 😢😢.
Thank God.
Good for her to have kept talking and trying to distract others and keep them focused on being alive and ok❤️❤️❤️
It's amazing so many survived, thank God! So sorry for the families and of those that did not sad 😞
@@TheShiftersMusic agree
As a guy on the east coast grandpa always said to me "People out west are strong because they have to deal with the wrath of mother nature with god wisdom. That's why they're strong it's their faith that keeps their hearts warm in the face of their labors of the land they choose to live and protect."
Your grandpa sounds dumb
Kentucky does not get many tornado's especially in the winter.
We deal with nature's wrath more on the east coast than the west coast. Hurricanes!
I hope people of influence start making public donations to aid organizations or do some kind of celebrity fundraiser for these poor people, to get the ball rolling.
nah fam they to busy scamming fans with there nfts collections
the citizens are organizing and taking care of things; we will survive!
Happy happy birthday to Kiana ….you are an amazing lady! Condolences to those that have lost a family member or friend! Hugs & love to all!!
Im in tears words cant fathomed how heartbreaking this is! Send prayers and love, no one should ever have to go through this. 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤😥
May Allah make it easy for everyone affected by the tragedy. For those who lost their lives May the journey back be a easy one 🌹🤲🦋
If any good reaches them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but if any evil befalls them, they say, “This happened because of you.” Say: “All things are from Allah.” What is wrong with these people that they do not understand any word?) [An-Nisa' 78]
With the warnings from the weather service, why in the hell was that candle factory open for work??!!!
Greedy owners.
Sending prayers and care to all affected by this disaster....
I'm so sorry to everyone who lost someone 😔 will pray for you all 🙏💙
Who exactly are you praying to?
Just for note, EF3 rated for now. Structural engineers were on their way to evaluate the damage. There is a good chance that the intensity will be upgraded. It derailed a fully loaded train later on in it's life, hurling a railcar up a hill.
EF3 my ass. EF5 should be obvious.
Solid EF4
What a wonderful group of people! Blessings to all of us!!! I learned a lot of inspiration from this video!
r.i.p to the people passed away :(
Boy, when these tornadoes appear at night it's a nightmare.
And yet not a word of support from Mitch McConnell! Hope people from Kentucky are paying attention!
Autumn seems .Ike a kind woman and a great mom. God bless her and her babies❤
From the UK, so was all those tornadoes at the same time?? Wow that must of been scary. RIP
@@TheShiftersMusic thank you for clarifying that
Stephen Colbert has different organizations on his Twitter account that people can donate to. As he said tonight in his monologue “Americans help Americans”. And this is a Canadian giving you his message. Many have lost everything. Doesn’t matter what political party you belong to they need help!
How is this only an EF3 with 206MPH winds?
Thats what I'm saying lol EF5 is anything above 200.

there were tornado watches all the way up here in Michigan. Because that storm that was in Kentucky just a few hours later was in Michigan at like 3-4am, the rain was horrible, I thought the rain was going to break our windows.
I am from Ohio and we had strong wind and we are neighbors to Kentucky on the other end of Kentucky.
I'm from Michigan but living in Japan right now. Thank you for posting! I was curious on how strong the weather was on that day.

They need more of these tornadoes so haha for them don't care about your condolences!

Are there any stories from the people who lost everything. How their lives have changed, how they move on with no more vehicles nor home, probably no job. Maybe a story on how they had to start all over from scratch, or the help they’ve had. Sorry for all of the losses.
Sue the company. Not allowing these people to go home. Awful!

@@Christina-71 If they let them leave. it would’ve been on their own recognizance… But they threatened them to stay there .
