We used a lot of parts from a broken lawn tractor, e.g.
    Engine 14 hp
    hydrostatic gearbox
    Fuel tank
The wheels are from a 125cc ATV
The machine works really very well. It can cut grass more than 1 meter high, shred branches and tidy up a neglected plot.

Fascinating and most informative! You have amply demonstrated the principle of Built To Last! I wonder if you could, at any stage, add a side delivery function? Mulching may not be the best idea in some situations.

Made one while I was in Korea in 1960 without a machine shop, used C47 tail wheels, truck spring for a blade, and had to cover the blade after a trial run with a stainless table shelf, no it was not as good but did the job, should have patterned it.

When the wife tells you it's time to mow the lawn. You know it's time when the neighbors give you a pass for mowing after dark. Oh, you live in the sticks! So nobody cares about noise. I bet there's a farmer around that wouldn't mind raking that up into a feed bunker though. It's not alfalfa but it's edible for livestock like most of the grass species you have there.
Over the top job in making the brush hog. Bigger motor may help when it comes to trees. Maybe cut a 'V' into the front to get closer to some targets. I would take it into the woods as is to clear the brush between the trees for sight value and to encourage better tree growth. That will last you for decades.👍

Nice work! I miss having my own shop. Retired now, we had to move to a more affordable state. The shop had to go. How about this project? I have a Husqvarna high end 48" riding lawn tractor that is near it's end of life except for the frame, the motor, and the transmission. What I would like to do is make a flail mower powered by the same pully that now goes back to the cutting deck to go forward to power a flail mower that cuts a 45" swath ahead of the mower. I mentioned this to a company that makes flail mowers and they said the two bolts attaching a flail mower to the front of my machine would not be enough because there needs to be a way to adjust the height of cut and to raise the whole mower up when in transport, etc. I see here you are the guy that could prove them wrong! This could be an item that would be a new product for sale to finance an expansion to your shop and make a nice profit. A company like Oric does make a flail mower drum with the hammers, so that part could be avoided by simply ordering the drum and swinging hammers. A flail mower makes a nice enough finish for an average lawn, but it also can cut through brush, saplings, fallen branches, ant hills, tall grass and weeds. That is what I need on our property but I do not have thousands of dollars to buy such an off the shelf machine. Making an adaptable flail mower for under 5 grand ought to have a good market demand. What say you?

Nice build. However it doesn't do a great job at cutting grass do to the fact that it doesn't cut level )two wheels only with hand adjust cutting). However it seems to do a good job on high weeds and woody bush cuttings. Not build a revolving cutter setup to work horizontally to mulch woody brush and trees like high end Ventrac. That would be a better cutter... JMHO Thumbs Up!

Ok, everybody's kind of missing the point here. If you watch the video and you watch him, run the machine after it's been made, the picture that's displayed of what the machine looks like in the beginning is not what he has built.
In other words, it does not have a cover on it.
In the photo The blade is a complete lie and misleading.
This is nothing more than a large blade grass mulching system, it does not have an open blade system. Whereby it can't cut down 4 foot grass or trees, or much else. So the advertisement is completely misleading and false.
In addition, i'm listening to the engine while it's running and it is tremendousstly over exerting the engine to the point that i'm pretty sure in a future video, the engine's gonna have to be overhauled and or replaced.
    Experience.😮
34 minutes into the video. He's showing us that he's mulching and chopping down large debris. But all he's doing is exactly what everybody does. With a push rower, they put the blade down. And if it's sharp enough, it will do exactly the same thing. I've done it several times anybody who says they haven't is a total liar.
I understand that an open blade system is extreme dangerous, however the advertised photo is that of a
    "BRUSH HOG EXTREME" .....
    UH UHH ..... NOPE 😢😮🤥
The photo in the beginning if built would cut down almost anything. False advertising
