I have DVB+FM +DAB 820T2 FM Dongle. Till now I have been using HDSDR and could hear all the FM stations in Hyderabad City in India where I reside. However, the user interface on HDSDR is a big primitive as there are no memory tabs. While searching for alternate software with advanced options, I stumbled upon your Video. Thank you for good explanation. I installed the SDR Play version of 2019 where the software is automatically recognizing the Dongle connected. Thank you.
However did I manage professionally perfectly well for 20 years with receivers that just had very good filters, basic AGC functions, 'slow' and 'fast' tuning and excellent dynamic range? This is feature-rich software is all very nice to have, and you're doing a great job explaining it, but maybe the designers have lost the plot by giving every imaginable function - and many more besides - making it impenetrable for all the newbies and basic radio hams who wouldn't know the difference between FFT Blackman Opt and Kaiser-Bessel beta 25 if they fell on their heads!
I get your point but I'll offer up a counter point for the sake of discussion. This is a device and software marketed toward hobbyists and enthusiasts. The majority of the user base is looking for all of these features (and probably more) even though they may not know what they all do or even how to use them. If a user wanted just basic controls they could go buy a regular general coverage receiver.
I am just getting into Radio Astronomy and I am looking at several Spectrum Anylizer packages. I would sure like to see a few video's of this package dealing with the 21 centimeter Hydrogen band.
741 thanks so much. I have airspy and SDRplay1 and 2. I personal found SDRUNO works dismal with my random wire and inverted vee. But SDR Console v2 was great and showed how powerful SDRplay is , I want to listen to VLF but my antenae are too noisy . I going to switch to v3 today .
Great overview of the SDRplay hardware and software.. thank you. I ordered a RSP1A a couple days ago and looking forward to trying it out. I am interested in using it for the new FM ham Fox Sats and for spotting for DX with CW Skimmer from my qth. 73.
Great Video . I have 2 x Pi4 on order and 2 x RTL SDR coming and I'm mounting both Pi4 and both RTL SDRs up on my VHF / UHF Tower about 6 feet under my antennas cheaper doing this then paying for Hardline Coax lol . But I will power Pi and RTL SDRs POE and remote to them . This way I can listen 24/7 to see when 6 meters , 2 meters is open . And when it is , I'll power it all down and Fire up the Flex 6500 . Also I have a SDRplay I'll do the same with for HF . Maybe I should make a video when all done and setup .
Thanks Tom! I have some plans for more videos on the SDRplay units and related software. However, I'm busy at work right now and some of my free time is being consumed by working OT so my video production my slow down for a while. But stayed tuned....there will be more at some point.
Hi Tom...it's been a long time since I've looked at sdrConsole. I'll have to take a look at it now but I thought it didn't have scan capabilities when I last used it
@@hamrad88 I don't have SDR console installed on my computer - what version are you using? Last notes I saw said scanning is still not supported but i'm not sure how old those notes are
Using the Dongle I have ie. DVB+FM +DAB 820T2 FM, kindly inform how to receive local AM Station which is broadcasting on 737 Khz. I tried but could not. Please inform.
Hello Sir Thank you very much for your immediate clarification. I ordered for SDR RTL2832 + R820T which has two options one for 100KHz-24MHz and 100KHz-1.7GHz. Kindly verify the details of the SDR for above two options in this link: www.fabtolab.com/SDR-RTL2832-R820T I hope I can configure above SDR (ordered and yet to be received) in SDR Console V3 and get local Medium Wave Stations also in the range of 500 to 1600 Khz. Kindly clarify.
Can anyone help me get my window back on the left , i lost all my stuff thats in the left where you choose modes and filters and change frequency and all that good stuff , i forgot how to get it back
the scale that is displayed say -100dbm, is that the power of the signal being received. what happens if i transmit a high power signal of say 125 W, will i be able to reveive it and will this scale show + 50 dbm? plz help me with this!!!!
Don't transmit high power directly into or near the unit or you will damage it. Check the manual and the sdrplay website for their recommendation and specs.
Wow look at your CPU 45% . My CPU never gos over 0.3% Even if I have my Flex 6500 and SDR Console at the same time it will get up to 0.7% But my PC is I7K 10% over clocked with 32gb ram and a very hot video card . lol
Many thanks SevenFortyOne. Such informative information videos are much appreciated by the fast growing community of SDRplay RSP users :-)
Thank you! I enjoy using your radios and sharing my experiences with others.
5 years later and I found it very useful. Thanks

Fantastic video, very useful. Am curious how to do the control with FLDIGI and panadapter control to a radio as SDRPlay does. De WO8USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Excellent information. Thank you so much. I have a question for you. How I can record the spectrum to convert to pixels. Thank you.
You mentioned "history" but you didnt show how to show that window. I cant find it anywhere.
Thank you for your super good demonstration.
I've lost the control panel that's normally on the display's left. How do I get it back ?
Outstanding video. Thank you therfore.
Excellent informative video. Thank you for sharing ,very much appreciated.
Do you have any video about how to add frequencies to the favorites?
i got and rtl sdr v3 where is the official sdr console site
Hey, Rob. How do you do a scan in SDR Console?

@SevenFortyOne it seems to have a button fir it but it dies nothing. See my recent shows. Please.
I'm tied up at work until late this evening but will try to look tomorrow

I see on the download page at website V3 is gone and now 3.02 single tuner mode only. What is single tuner mode?
How did you manage such an amazingly low noise floor?
I live in the middle of nowhere and have few modern appliances that generate noise
Brilliant Thankyou
My layout looks nothing like that?
Thanks for the great Video
Классная программа.
If Ihave the sdrplay duo can I run this on both receivers at the same time like sdr uno?
I'm not sure if sdr consoles supports 4he dual receiver

It is my understanding that the dongles don't work below 25MHz or so.

Program started with noise floor 3 inches below the bottom of the screen, How do you raise it up so you can see signals?
In the options button on the spectrum window
